1. Anyone fancy playing some of this format?  DN - Willexoh
  2. This is my build at the moment, it's not that different from one a couple of pages ago. Still undecided on Reaper.
  3.
i was never really a fan of herald. negging yourself to stop plays is not the way to go.
Herald will often be used in a position where it's activation will win you the game by severely disrupting your opponent.

i feel like this deck has a lot of potential this format and deserves being discussed a little bit more then it is. ive basically been playing the deck the same way it was being played before earth went to one. 3 maxx 3 veiler isnt that bad since my local meta has been wind ups and plants mostly. hand traps have been putting in a lot of work. Is this deck a viable option for Toronto?
I'd strongly recommend Herald over Veiler, just for the sheer fact that Herald can negate opposing Veilers, Maxx Cs, Gorzes, as well as getting rid of threats as opposed to just keeping them on the board.
Have you been testing Herald extensively? I used to swear by the card, but was eventually coerced to start playing veilers, I absolutely loved Herald as it made dead Shine Balls live as fuck and could seriously put a dent in decks like Rabbit and Wind-Ups, however after eating crucial cards in my hand for the sake of self-preservation, I started to stray away from them. I'd like to know if you're running it at 2 or 3, and how it's working out please.
Running it at 3 and it's been amazing. It is there in the necessity that you have to push for game with a fear of Gorz, and often what I've found with this deck is you'll spend a good few turns wasting your opponents resources while your hand size grows, hiding behind a Rai-Oh or Gachi or Zenmaines. The Herald is more disruptive than Veiler could ever be, as it actually removes the threats from the field in case you don't have an answer for it. The sheer fact it can stop Veiler is good enough, as often whatever you'd stop Veiler for would mitigate the loss off Herald. I went 4-0 in swiss yesterday with this deck at locals, only losing to Lavals in the top 8 due to forgetting to side out. Didn't lose a single game other than the second one in the Laval Matchup, where my opening consisted of MSTs, Heavy, 2 BTH followed by Hyperion, Hyperion, Herald, Chaos Sorc. This deck certainly has a lot of potential this format.

  6. Maining 3 Maxx C and 3 Veiler in the beginning of a format, where it looks like Heroes/Dark World are going to be played a lot seems awful.
Earth + Venus + Shine Ball = Ancient Sacred Wyvern Shine Ball + Shine Ball = Daigusto Phoenix Phoenix attacks for 3000, Wyvern goes up to 5100. 8100 damage.
This combo is not taking into account that you have to pay a minimum of 1500 LP to summon the balls, so at the most, Wyvern would be at 3600.
Yeah I realised this earlier, was going to come in to amend it. Phoenix is still awesome though.
  8. I got quite excited when I looked up the post code and thought it was at the English Institute of Sport, like Nats 09. People racing round the track as the TOs shouted at them was possibly one of the highlights of the event for me.

My personal reasoning is Herald is better against Rabbit (in that they can't just protect Rabbit and use it next turn), and also can negate opposing Veilers.
Herald is great but it kind of conflicts with the Tragoedias.
I think Trag/Herald will be the big decision, and at the moment I really think Herald is looking amazing.

  13. This is Jordan, he's a mate of mine, and still a complete wanker when it comes to trading.
  14. Only issue is it's not complete yet, but if that doesn't bother you go ahead.

It may just be me, but I feel the need to side at least 2 Veilers for the Wind-Up Matchup, as first turn loop is a massive ball-ache.
I definitely agree with this, gonna find room in the side for veilers, the maindecked chains won't cut it to avoid the loop as you said. I had them in there, but never really thought about dropping 2 tribute for 2 veiler when I'm going second.
In my build I run 2 Veilers mained, with 2 Tributes sided. Then again, that's probably because half the decent players at my locals play Wind-Ups.
