  1. Overwatch [Full Version Available]

The idea behind the reset has been to thin out Gold and Platinum and increase the population sizes of Bronze and Silver. As it stands, there is too much of a skill discrepancy between players of similar ranking in Gold/Platinum. Diamond+ shouldn't have been very affected by the reset, so the idea is that your rank should stay relatively the same after the soft reset (I guess it stayed exactly the same lol). What did you go in your placements?
  2. Titanfall 2

Because they fixed a lot of the mistakes this time around. I bought the game, and it's actually pretty incredible compared to the first one. The campaign is great, and the multiplayer is solid (have not tried the mp yet, but that's what I hear.) It has great reviews from pretty much all sources; most consent that it's actually great.
  3. Titanfall 2

Is anyone playing this? Was thinking about picking it up for PC, but I'm on the fence right now since I really don't have anyone to play with.
  4. Overwatch [Full Version Available]

Same here. I might start playing Overwatch again soon though. Anyone here that plays PC should add me Dawgmatic#1708

Also, this is completely untrue on PC. I've had the pleasure of playing with/against the likes of Talespin, Surefour, Seagull, etc. while I was participating in the closed beta, and the presence of these players, PARTICULARLY TALESPIN, could actually decide the outcome of a match based on their existence in the match alone. There was nothing quite like getting absolutely crushed by Talespin's Mei prior to the hotfix nerfs. This is on PC though. I can't speak towards a console meta which couldn't even deal with Torbjorn without nerfs lol.

Oh... You're actually serious. Alright then. Doesn't console have aim assist? From the research I've done on console Overwatch, it has a vastly different meta than PC Overwatch. Given actual win % data, the lower skill cap heroes generally dominate more often, since it is technically harder to aim on console than it is on PC. Most competitive Overwatch tournaments will occur on PC rather than console. This has been the case so far, and will continue to be the case so long as this game exists. Big pushes and lockdowns occur on PC as well, and it's naive of you to assume that they don't. How can you even suggest what does / does not happen on PC, considering your lack of PC Overwatch experience?

This game will be a viable e-sport after some polish; the following for this game is huge. There is no best character in the game. Every character is good depending on the situation.

Also, this is not true. Some people were invited to the actual closed beta. If you can post in this thread: http://us.battle.net/forums/en/overwatch/topic/19972717119, then you have permanent access.

Not to get your hopes down about playing in the beta or anything, but I can absolutely guarantee there will be server stability issues right off the gate with this stress test. It will probably take an extremely long time to authenticate and log in. If you do get in games, they will probably kick you out of the match entirely every 30 seconds. I don't mean to be pessimistic, but I know a lot of people have had their hopes up to play this game. Just realize that whatever bad things happen at the beginning of this weekend, the Overwatch team will be working quickly to rectify them, so that those who did get in for this weekend have an enjoyable playing experience.

Ikr. If you think this is bad, you should have seen reddit on the first days following the release of the closed beta. This quarrel does not even compare. Well anyways, my opinion on the subject of DLC pricing. It could be possible they believe that there are already enough base heroes available to counter every situation, and then price each DLC release accordingly. However, they already addressed this concern, and said a hero store could not be any farther from the truth of the situation. I doubt this will be the approach they take. Expansion packs COULD be a thing, but that's hard to justify for a game with no story mode, and is still pretty much the same thing as a hero store. Skins WILL be monetized. They haven't provided a lot of information on this, but I do have a theory as to how this will be handled. There is a commendation system at the end of every game, and I feel as if that will be related to how 'progression' is treated, either through skins as rewards, or some sort of currency obtained through that system to buy certain skins. The announcer says 'Epic' if you receive at least 5 votes, and 'Legendary' if you receive 10. Epic has generally been purple rarity loot in Blizz games, and Legendary loot has generally been of orange rarity. This is seen in Hearthstone and WoW. I have not quite figured out how they would flesh this out, however, and I don't think they have either. So as for how my experience in playing the beta has gone... Let's just say that if you are in ANY WAY a fan of the FPS genre, or even of the MOBA genre, the hype will be so real for you in this game. It's fucking fantastic. Mercy + Widowmaker combo needs a nerf though. Mercy damage AMP + Widowmaker 100% charge shot does 255 damage, non-headshot. This means you can one body shot kill any non-tank in the game. There are counters to it, but considering how potentially silly it is, I cannot see it remaining as is. In other news, the gameplay for the game is surprisingly more team oriented than solo play oriented, which bodes well for the competitive scene. Team composition is absolutely huge, and being able to switch on the fly is crucial to countering set ups. I'm not satisfied with the way hero switching is handled, however, as I don't think it should just be something done when you're dead; you should have slightly more control over it. But being able to do it willy nilly also poses its own problems as well, as both teams will seemingly be switching infinitely to counter certain setups their opponent throws out at them. I played aa premade 6 v 6 the other night against another team that was premade. We were not really trying tho, and we just kind of went with the flow. The other team put on their pants, and just absolutely crushed us, harder than I have ever been crushed in any pub game. They were defense first on Dorado, and they went the aforementioned Mercy + Widowmaker (Mercymaker for short) combo against us. We didn't really adapt to it, and we got crushed. So I had the bright idea to try that combo when it was our turn for defense. I'm not a very good sniper so that was a big mistake for me. They went Tjorborn and Reinhardt to shield the payload as it moved, and used double reaper to make sure our own Mercymaker combo didn't work. There is a lot of room for counterplay in this game, and teams that adapt the quickest and most successfully in-game will be the ones that will shine. I can answer any specific questions you guys might have about the game specifically, if you wish, after having so much hands on time with it.

Did anyone else get into the beta? I don't want to be the only one :(

Mind Control was an amazing answer back when it cost 8 mana. Alas, those days are no more.

Building a deck around a single card is generally very bad practice, unless that card functions as a standalone, or it is just so polarizing when it hits the field, that you just straight up win the game. I don't think this card warrants playing shitty decks like Mech Priest / Mech Paladin, but what can be played still remains to be seen. What I like most about this card is that it does not necessarily require bad or situational cards to be powerful, nor does it hurt your tempo when played on curve.  How can you doubt mech priest?!?!?!?!?!I mean... It doesn't even run MC soo  To be fair the only reason I bring it up is world class player iksar played a bit of it. I see. I realized something when re-reading my post. It's a sad day for Priest when one of its previously most powerful cards, Mind Control, is so bad now, that it loses the rights to the MC acronym to some other card who won't even tell you who he is.
