  1. RIP Roger Ebert

What?! I was reading a review he did of Barney's Version yesterday. Fuck :/ an erudite mind who seemed to operate, in all his reviews, without even a hint of cynicism. Guess when we're 70 we can only hope to win a Pulitzer and be as influential as he was. RIP
  2. My band's first recordings after a year of rehearsal

bump. https://soundcloud.com/glasseye-diner there's 3 new tunes up here (Ghost House, wILLDERNESS wONDERING and Hocus Pocus), also a Youtube clip of our song Interloper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CtN_U4coF8. I know the old feedback wasn't kind towards the singer, but weirdly he's had a transformation since the old recordings. Would like feedback if possible.
  3. I need help

I wish you'd stop being a cryptic cunt on Facebook and just open up and talk to me.
  4. Infernity - Discussion

Obviously due to the amount of people maining Maxx C and TKR nowadays, this deck's at a disadvantage, though less backrows to compete with and being able to utilise Leviair Dragon almost balances that out. I'm testing out a random Mystic Tomato and it turns out to be a dealbreaker Gave this a lot of thought and playtesting, against a difficult meta it works pretty well, it's got more backup for when you don't want to try and blow your load straight away. So yeah, my build 15 3 Infernity Archfiend 3 Infernity Necromancer 1 Infernity Avenger 1 Infernity Beetle 2 Infernity Mirage 1 Dark Grepher 1 Armageddon Knight 1 Stygian Street Patrol 1 Plaguespreader Zombie 1 Mystic Tomato 10 1 Infernity Launcher 1 One for One 1 Foolish Burial 1 Pot of Duality 1 Mind Control 1 Reinforcements of the Army 1 Book of Moon 1 Monster Reborn 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 15 3 Infernity Barrier 3 Infernity Inferno 2 Call of the Haunted 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 2 Solemn Warning 1 Solemn Judgment 1 Mirror Force 1 Starlight Road One-offs like Duality and Tomato add those extra options that the deck sometimes needs, it also lets you sit a bit more comfortably when you've got a really slow set up, with BTH, Mind Control and shit adding that extra removal to keep your board in check against TKRs, exceeds and whatnot. I don't main Dark Hole and I don't play Torrential at all...I would but in every circumstance I've used it in, I'd rather have a BTH instead. I haven't really missed Dark Hole at all. With this build I always end up drawing something semi-playable at worst. Obviously Dark Worlds is a great matchup for it and it can afford to play the slow game and not really suffer to Maxx C if you play it right. Veiler and Crow are easy to play around unless they have like 3 or something (which has happened to me before :/) But yeah, my build, it's doing ok at the moment, the side deck is a work in progress, might post it up at some point.
  5. friends ex girlfriends

This happened to me last month. I still had feelings (however confused) for my ex, but 6 days after she broke up with me, she went to meet my mate (whom I thought she was talking with a lot during our relationship) which kind of ripped me up. 2 weeks later I still wasn't really over here but she told me she had feelings for him, and that he really liked her. Hurt quite a bit but I know the guy's a proper solid bloke and if me and her were meant to be together, we would be, so I decided to give him my blessing and take time out of the situation to recover. In my opinion if you wanna go out with your mate's ex, it all depends on how you handle the situation. You can't always help hurting them, and part of me wishes he'd stayed way the fuck away, or waited a little longer to even meet her or anything, but that's just my needs, if she feels the same way about you then your mate has to be a good guy about it and give the blessing, but don't always expect him to be cool about it. That's just me anyway. There's a lot of heartbreak and painful details in breakups most of the time, so I reckon being delicate about it is key. meh

Seems good, just hope Factory Floor put on a better showing than they did last time I saw them.
  7. FUCK.

I did an English Studies W/Creative Writing degree and now work part time in retail. There's not a lot of guaranteed jobs for English graduates.
  8. Say something to someone that will never hear it

You had your problems and I had mine. The difference between us is that I wanted to get to the root of your problems, I felt I could relate even though I knew it wouldn't be easy for you to commit, it didn't have to end in a relationship. In turn, you've been cruel like about 10 other women I've known who seem to have done the same thing to me in different degrees over the past few years. I hate you and I hate the fact that I let you get this close to me, because you tore me apart from the inside out. I did everything I could for you and every problem that you lay at my footsteps, I empathised wholeheartedly with you. In turn I gave you my burdens that 2011 has brought, and the weight of the last few years, and you thought it appropriate/didn't care whether it was appropriate that now you're with my friend. You haven't tried to contact me since you got with him, I want to believe that some part of you cared about me and didn't find me utterly expendable, but given the things you said to me after we broke up, the way things happened and the way you blamed me for things, I am able to lay this burden down, on the basis that I can at least say my past hasn't turned me into a cruel, bitter, vengeful person. I do my best for the people I care about, I handle things maturely. I tried to get you to open up, but when I opened up in kind you broke my heart in the worst way you could. Thanks. Maybe when you learn to grow up you'll look back and realise that making an effort for someone to be happy involves a two way street of compassion: don't just force your problems onto other people and expect them to wrap their private sphere around you and contain you in their lives and obey the will of your ridiculous hangups and baggage. Whenever someone checks up on me, I tell them the full story if they ask, if they don't ask, I don't force it on them. But hey, one of us is happy now right?
  9. What book(s) are you currently reading?

Just finished King Crow by Michael Stewart, brilliant book. Now I'm finally gonna get around to reading that copy of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
  10. The world may end sooner than I anticipated

Just when I think I don't have to see any more of Jack White's ugly, untalented mug, we get this :/
  11. WIsh you'd respond to your inbox!

  12. My band's first recordings after a year of rehearsal

Yeah I've been playing about the same amount of time, alot of our stuff we did last year (before we got this drummer) had less reigned in basslines and they sounded too showy so, through 14 months of rigorous jamming me and the drummer have developed our sound. Again thanks for the compliment, it's nice to hear your insight.
  13. My band's first recordings after a year of rehearsal

Thanks for the feedback guys. Alex what's your current email? I messaged you a while ago but I think I sent it to the wrong address, if I was still on facebook you'd have definitely heard about it first Also I guess the temporary (and intentional) note-muddiness gives it that Shoegaze label that people like to associate with our tunes. We've been rehearsing as a 3 for over a year as I say, just making music, really hoping to start gigging soon. The band life is the way to go :D
  14. My band's first recordings after a year of rehearsal

We just describe it as sort of film soundtrack sounding kind of thing, but I guess it's easier to classify it as alternative, given all the weird influences that go in there. Thanks for the compliment mate
  15. Drum and Bass
