1. Hieratic Overdrive
lol @ people saying Nebthet is shit now when at first they said Su was shit lol
I decided against most traps after testing them. All they prove to be is MST, Grapha and Inzektor targets anyway. I am aware that i need Effect Veiler. Also, Reckless Greed is basically Cardcar D, its just not dead if you draw multiples. Also can't be Effect Veiler'd. Good bluff too.
There are a few flaws in your first sentence. If you are playing vs. DW all your cards are Grapha bait so saying your traps are useless is ignoring the fact that your monsters will be the target instead. :/ MST targets, well a lot of decks play only 5 to 8 traps and they are ALL MST targets. Saying dies to MST is horrible, as well as saying dies to Heavy. If you are playing correctly then the traps you should playing should be stopping the Inzektors from staying on the field to get their effects off to destroy your stuff... plus if you get Veiler your whole entire Inzektor argument is null and void. The traps you should play if any: 1 Judgment 2 Warning 2 Torrential You can even play only 3 traps, it does not matter. They are there to hurt your opponent's plays and stop them from creating a field presence you cannot deal with easily. I had tested Reckless for a LONG time and I would take it out. In the end it hurts the deck more than you may think or know. It's basically, if you don't go off you will most likely lose... and the extra 2 draw does not mean you will get all the cards you will need... meaning drawing only 1 SS and multiple Tef / Eset... but you are playing Connection which I did not have or know about at that time so maybe this is different. I still would not run it for the inconsistency reason AND because of Cardcar. Please, just run Cardcar. It baits Warning and Veiler or gives you a direct +. It is also amazing with Duality. Swings is a good card, amazing in fact, but I feel we will all move away from it at some point. It is not a niche card in the least and is a great top deck like you said but... if they have a field set up and a monster with 2500+ atk then it is not. This card makes Xyz easily but I feel that the Hieratics should be doing that all by themselves. By forcing the whole event with hand advantage you are decreasing your chances of winning for every card. Idk, you'll probably just not use it once and never look back. Things I would change: -2 Dragonconnection (I don't like this card too much. I would try some defensive cards and such in order to help you gain advantage while keeping your opponent in check) -1 Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness (it is nice but I would run it with 2 Trag or none at all) -3 Reckless Greed (said above) +1 Judgment +2 Torrential +3 Cardcar D I guess You could replace the 3 spots I gave to traps with something else, idk. If you choose to take out the Swings they should obviously become Veilers (3 of them).
Thank you for a diverse read. Reckless Greed will be replaced with Cardcar D, but i won't even bother going after them until the set drops and i start to see more of them around. I'd rather have Effect Veiler used on Cardcar D than Atum i suppose. Gorz is such a good card; i won't take him out. He's probably my only defense right now. I probably will drop a Draconnection or both of them. It does help a lot when you have 1 too many Nebthets or a Luster Dragon/Wattaildragon though. I feel it is an underrated card that needed a little testing. 1 copy was actually perfect so i might leave 1 in there, especially with my bad luck at drawing both normals. Solemn Judgment and Torrential Tribute might be the only traps i add if i decide to use any. I will probably drop Monster Gate and a Nebthet is well later once i add Effect Veiler's. With Effect Veiler added, Monster Gate won't be nearly as useful (right now any hit in my deck is a good one). I probably won't drop Swing of Memories. It's the reason i win as much as I do honestly, and i encourage others to try it before the easy dismissal.
You're going to want to have Eset in hand more than Nebthet. Not saying that Nebthet is bad but Eset will get you started better and so less copies of Nebthet can benefit to a more solid starting hand. It won't be as explosive but it'll endure in tournament length.
I havn't lost because i drew too many Nebthets, I lost because I couldn't draw Eset or Tefnuit, which really can't be helped some times. It's usually the only time i lose.
If you insist on playing Nebthet, you need a level five normal Dragon-type. Remember, only Eset has the level change effect. So if you were to "tribute summon" Nebthet or use its effect, it wouldn't be able to work with your level six normals. Take that into consideration; as well as what the others have said regarding defensive traps, Effect Veiler, and Cardcar D.
It would just be another dead draw, and i can still use Rank 5 Xyz's regardless. Nebthet is not difficult to work around.

  3. Hieratic Overdrive

I know we don't have Gustaph Cannon MAXX yet; and truth be told this deck is pretty nuts already. A huge problem i noticed right off the bat is Effect Veiler. It ruined many OTK attempts too much for me to overlook. I was surprised to hear that Hieratics actually perform decently in OCG (i don't keep up with a lot of oversees top tiers) despite almost every deck using triple Effect Veiler. So after a brainstorm i had a few ideas with amazing results. No Effect Veiler's yet. Yes, i will probably add them, once i find more anyway. My "answer" to Effect Veiler is Swing of Memories. It may not seem like much, because i didn't think much of it at first either. To stop the tug-of-war battle between my left and right brains, i tested them, and am very happy with the results. Obviously, the target is Wattaildragon or Luster Dragon #2. Normally an Effect Veiler to counter Atum is a turn-ending play. The monster Summoned off Swing of Memories lets me continue my turn; i usually won't be able to OTK my opponent, but summoning Photon Streak Bounzer puts some serious pressure on my opponent (I can OTK with the right cards though; with more copies of Swing of Memories, other Hieratics, Monster Gate, or Monster Reborn, which i can usually draw off of Reckless Greed or Pot of Duality). My opponents only answer will usually be Dark Hole (assuming they don't have any traps; i do use 3 MST, Heavy Storm, and 3 Su's so...yeah..he should be safe). To top it off, it becomes a fantastic topdeck later because my opponent will probably be weak from my previous plays from earlier, and making another Atum is a great comeback if a 2500 T'wattaildragon isn't enough. Also without Gustaph Cannon MAXX, OTK'ing is a little harder to do for now. Swing of Memories is adds that extra oomph to do so. Another card i'm using is a pair of Draconnection. I have mixed feelings on using 2, but i know that 1 works like a charm. Multiple Tefnuit's, Nebthet's, and Normal monsters in your hand can be swapped out for a monster you can actually make plays in. It is a -1, but it can be useful to start making plays and possibly kill your opponent. It has made many plays possible in otherwise dead hands. Normally, Draconnection is difficult to use, and the result is not worth it. However, it is proving to be very valuable in Hieratics. The last test card is Monster Gate. Basically, it acts as a Hieratic monster; that's the simplest way to put it (unless i SS Gorz off it...). If i add Effect Veiler i might remove it if it proves to be inconsistent, but right now, every monster in my deck besides Gorz is a good hit. Every monster. So i see no reason not to play this card.
How is Maxx "C" good vs Inzektors? If your opponent SS for Dragonfly, that means they destroyed one of your cards, and Centipede will most likely destroy another one, so you just traded Maxx "C" for 1 draw, and lost 2 on-field cards.. or am I missing something?. Maybe I'm mistaken, but other than vs Wind-Ups, Maxx "C" is not that great, I think you should move it to side deck. Has Skill Drain interfered with your ability to use Blade Armor Ninja consistently? And, if you're using drain, why not Thrasher as a 1-of? Thrasher has the advantage of not making you set your entire hand to SS him, and has way better stats than Bubbleman. Don't get me wrong, I'd still play 2/3 Bubbleman.
Most Inzektor decks i have seen use Inzektor Sword - Zekalibur AND Tour Guide of the Underworld. Not to mention some builds use Call of the Haunted. No, Skill Drain does not affect my gameplay too much; it's much more pressure on my opponent than it is on me, and it shouldn't stay on the field too long. While Skill Drain is in play, i just use Utopia, or no Xyz's at all ( i do still have Miracle Fusion too). When it's not, i use Maestroke or Blade Armor Ninja. I usually save my Blade Armor Ninja's after my opponent is down on cards to bait of the remaining few.
  5. Heroic Waterworks
take out maxx c's from main for prisons/force etc.. rest is standard outside of your choice to use both chains and drains.
Not a fan of Dimensional Prison or Mirror Force. It's not reliable interruption. I'd rather use CED.
If your locals is filled with Dark World and Inzektor, I wouldn't main "C"s or Drain.
Maybe not Skill Drain, but Maxx "C" is good against both decks. I havn't tested the deck enough yet so i'm still not sure. If both Maxx "C" and SKill Drain are lackluster in here i will remove them (but Maxx "C" seems to help quite a bit).

Something different about this deck would be the absence of Photon Thrasher and maindecking 3 Maxx "C" (which i might cut down to 2 if it becomes an inconvenience). I do not believe Photon Thrasher is necessary honestly; it just seems like another utility. Maxx "C" still harms a lot of decks (most actually) and i believe it is a good idea with people on the hype of Dragons and Dark World. The only decks Maxx "C" isn't really effective against is slow decks, like mirror matches or stun which aren't the hardest match-ups to begin with. Also, if Maxx "C" is interfering with Elemental HERO Bubbleman, you can always just discard it; a luxury Effect Veiler does not have. I believe it is the way to go. I'm not maindecking Super Polymerization or Starlight Road either. My locals is piled with many Inzektors and Dark World decks, so I don't really want to take the risk. I do however side 3, because when you can make use of Super Polymerization, it is devastating. Makes Dino Rabbit one of the easiest match-ups basically replacing Smashing Ground, as well as mirrors, rouges, and Wind-Ups. I do like Starlight Road, and might remove a Book of Moon for it, but i am currently testing the uses of my Extra deck (i'm using a variety of Xyz's) and have no room for a Stardust Dragon. There's probably a lot of room for improvement, so help me out .
  7. Symphony Devil Maestroke

It'll be nice to use something other than Utopia and Blade Armor Ninja for a change. Maestroke is pretty nuts.

  12. CatSabers

Many people like to use Cyber Dragon in Synchro Cat builds, but i usually always have a monster, so it doesn't do me much good.
  13. CatSabers

freiser; JiggaJazz; I really don't get bad hands, aside from the 4-5 spell/trap hand curse that haunts me. Everything seems to flow really nicely.
  14. CatSabers

Thats...actually a good question lmao. I'll change that, thanks.
