    I didnt really know nate all that well, but i do remember that with all my interactions with him, he was one of the best people ive known on this site, even though ive never met him in real life. Its just crazy to think that this can happen to such a good person, with their whole life ahead of them. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, and you will always be remembered nate. Stay based.

    Ok so ive got a few questions for you. Ive been playing the deck a good bit since the format changed, and i want to know a) how 3 icarus is treating you and why you choose to play 3 icaurs, b) why CED over a trap like TT, c) why you cut gale to 2, d) how the maindeck MSTs are, and e) how mind control has been testing for you.    Now, why i pose these questions.  a) I feel as though Icarus is a really solid card, but the only way you get net benefit from it is if you have pinaki (who sucks to draw and have to leave on board). Now, i also dont really think that you honestly ever want to see two icarus at the same time, especially given the fact that the only way you get a literal transition of value from it is through tributing pinaki, which results in a +1 for you, otherwise it is a 0.    b) I get that compulsory is a solid trap, but im not really sure what cards i want to be sending back to someone's hand. Like, maybe i want to send back an XYZ that say Satellar or FF makes, but at that point, i think i would rather just have the TT and keep them from making the summon in the first place.    c) Basically Gale, although it can be clunky at times at 3, is pretty freaking amazing as a card and outs basically anything 2600 and under, and if you have another blackwing, it pretty much outs any sort of threat someone can put on board. not to mention it outs the most standard of djinn locks and most other threats that can be put on board currently (Thunder king and Denko Sekka come to mind). its just too good of a card to not be played at three in my opinion.    d) I dont really feel as though 3 Icarus + 2 MST is REALLY necessary in the main deck, id rather them be something that can deal with monster threats that have to be dealt with on my opponent's turn.    e) If you arent playing level 8s, or rank 3s, what are you using mind control for...? i feel like it isnt really worth the spot in the current gamestate, at least not against the most relevant decks or decks that blackwings have trouble with. Again, i feel as though it should be a card that can deal with threats before they threaten my tempo/control of the game. Mind Control is a card that yes, it gives me tempo and can 'steal games', but that does no good when Im holding it in my hand and they kill me.    Now, as for CfBF, i think its a crucial card that allows you to dig deeper for your win conditions, Whirlwind+traps. And you run more than enough monsters to support it. Maybe its just personal preference though, i personally like the card.

    Crush card is really bad imo. Like, the whole power of the deck comes from its pressure and ability to apply consistent pressure through beaters and extra deck plays that allow for you to maintain tempo and resources with black whirlwind. So, even though you get really awesome results from CCV, it lets them not care about your pressure for basically three turns, with you being forced to use it on their turn. Not only that, but you then have to play more sub optimal cards that only work when you have the 1 of CCV or combo to make use of them. So I dont think that losing consistency and using suboptimal cards to make the 1 of CCV live is not worth it.

    I mean, i wouldnt say that im searching frequently, its just that I would prefer to have him in my deck as an option and that the versatility of such a card is so great that you cant really consider cutting him. I would honestly cut a gale before i cut zephyros, and it would take a serious amount of convincing for you to tell me that i should cut gale to 2 because the card is just that strong.

    any time that i draw into zephyros, or get zephyros, it seems like i win the game, because he just opens up so many different plays and options, between being able to recycle kaluts or whatever in tandem with blizzard, setting up icarus to get him to the grave, or making a solid rank 4 with him + bora/kris, i think that he is too versatile a card to not play, even if you arent seeing him.    Basically, if you dont see him, you are seeing the other cards you need to keep you in the game, whether that be the kaluts/gales to get rid of threats, or our s/t to get deeper into your deck/maintain board presence. I just think that zephyros has the most versatile, simple interactions with other cards in your deck and you simply just get too much value out of him to justify cutting him.

        I have been maining 2 skill prisoner for the past week or so. I was playing 1-1 Main/Side prior to that, but with the increase play of mermail, and the proliferation of +1 Fire, I felt that it warrented getting a shot at 2 over mained black horn, and i have not looked back. As Ive said before, the applications are very real and numerous, and i havent really found another card that performs as well as it does. It just seems to be a card that I almost never don't want to see. The only time that I dont want it is if im forced into a grind game and im topping vs their topping. And at that point, its still not horrible in those situations, because to be perfectly honest, 9/10 times that i am forced into topdecking, I probably misplayed and should have won by that point.  I really do like skill prisoner mained atm. With the rise of fire fist and mermails this card can become the mvp card of our deck. What's you're build look like? I really only like prisoner in the pure build. On top of playing veilers and fiendish it sometimes could clog. I actually dont find that it clogs too much, generally because if they have MST for fiendish, i have a) another fiendish, or b) veiler to stop them. Im playing 2 tuners though, and I dont think that i would cut the veilers or chains or prisoners at all.

    Like, you do realize that when i protect it with skill prisoner, I just flip it up on my turn, and get my search, right? I dont think you understand the fact that skill prisoner has more applications than just protecting armor right. so like, you can use it to protect your backrows from gorillas and marksmans, you can use it to protect your stardust from Silent honor, you can use it TWICE! During either player's turn! You can ensure that your play goes off by using it to protect from veiler. I think that you are locked into this single minded approach and can only see how the card interacts in one aspect of the deck. because Burst rebirth literally has ONLY ONE APPLICATION. It basically says, ' Pay 2000 LP. Special Summon Armor in FD defense Position to your side of the field. ' Whereas Skill prisoner has more than one use. As does call. So i dont know if you quite understand the use of certain cards, or why these cards are better than say, burst rebirth.    To add on I dont see how you can say that the card that you are referring to, limit rebirth or Burst rebirth, whatever it is, is better in a general sense, when it LITERALLY HAS ONE APPLICATION. Yes, it may perform that application better than the other two cards in question, but isnt it better to use more versatile, optimal, flexible cards that you can use at pretty much any point in the game rather than a card that has one specific application, and is only good if it can fulfil that one specific application?
