1. Testing for Nats

Also this, I feel like you might be able to cut heavy all together and opt for twisters/night beam/dust tornado, picking backrow is safer than heavying into the possible road, also those 3 cards hit the sphere in water.  I have cut heavy from my deck, not because I don't like maybe hitting Starlight Road, but because it's useless vs. Dragons/Spellbooks. I am still wanting to side it for rouge match-ups.   Thunderbird, for me at least, is dead most of the time, I never find myself wanting to summon Thunderbird. I think you have to run two in the deck just to up your chances of drawing an Evilswarm monster, but I will never run three again.

  7. Wind-Up - Discussion
I agree, Dust just seems like the better option. Xing is cute, but I'd take Tornado's versatility anyday.
The whole thing with Xing is that they have to have two set back rows, that they can't chain, and even then it takes up a spot on your side of the field. I have been playing Xing in my side, but after reading the last couple of pages I will be testing Dust Tornado. I honestly seems like a lot better of a card.
I like Dimensional Fissure a lot against Water, mainly because it stops the Hand Traps, which makes it extremely easy for me to go off with Magician+Shark. But in the grind games, if you are stalling with the Rat+Rabbit combo, it kind of sucks since it causes Rabbit to become Banished. Even worse if they have Gozen Match Face-Up.
I guess I'm kinda confused by "sucks since it causes Rabbit to become Banished" do you mean if your opponent just happens to destroy Rabbit.
I tested trag earlier in the format but I haven't tested it recently in the side. It seems like a good idea, to anticipate what your opponents siding out (prisons, mirror forces, soul takers, etc) and siding in, which would make trag much more of a threat to get rid of at the sametime applying pressure. Their only outs will be solemn warning and perhaps fiendish chain post side, though I would rather them waste resources on trag so that then I can attempt to get a clear way to go off with my WUs. It also has other applications (ditching shit to take opponents monsters, stall out if need be, changing levels, etc) making it very versatile. In all it seems like it can be really beneficial because of the counteractive strategy that is also flexible. Something definitely worth testing IMO.
Sean, I've been using your card, almost card for card, right now. I have tested Trag in side but it doesn't seem like it would be worth it, are we referring to just the Water match up?

I mained a copy of Tragoedia at regionals and I agree it was horrible. It was either too late when I saw it, or I was winning regardless and I didnt need it. The pitching is kinda cute i guess, but it really wasnt as game-changing as I thought it would be. I also don't understand Maxx "C" with no Gorz or Trag. Wouldnt a skilled player know Wind Ups (typically) wont use either and just go for the kill?
We're talking about side bro, (or at least I am) not main. Which is a whole different ball game.
I would agree that main decking is much different than side decking it, I just don't know when I would side them in.

I know you guys touch on this a bit but I just want to reemphasis and fully state why I think book of moon is a good card and why I ran it at Seattle. 1. It's never a dead card - At any point of the game, whenever you draw it, under any circumstance, it's always live. It gives you an immediate answer to on board threats like laggia/ dolkka to try to force them to negate, to book a kristya so you can go off, or just to simply attack over something. It's also reactive where you can can disrupt a magician/ shark, rabbit/ rat, rescue rabbit, hyperion play, or just to simply defend against an attack to protect your monsters. (And as I said before, protecting your monsters plays a key role in this deck). It can also get you out of plays set up by your opponent, for example, booking a zenmaines/ maestroke/ tiras/ off an torrential play that your opponent set up. What I'm saying is that It's versatility is unlimited and its a card that can deal with anything, being both proactive and reactive. Those types of cards are very rare to come by and IMO should be highly recommended to use, especially in a meta as diverse as this. 2. It's flexible. In flexible I mean its a card that can let you perform outside the box. As others said, you can book your magician to reuse again, and not just when they attempt to attack over it, but when it comes back off a rabbit play, use its effect, book it, reflip, and use it's effect once more. The same can be apply to rat and zenmaity, and given the opportunity, you can photon papilloperative to reuse their effects. They're are other appliances I wanted to inform you with but I have to go. Generally what I'm saying even though book of moon might not be the most optimal sometimes, (even though the same can be said to every card) it's still a card that can do everything a trap wants to do.
Well Sean has given me reasoning to run Book of Moon again.
40 cards. That's all I gotta say.
Only way to go with this deck.
He's right dfissure is a wonderful meta call everyone put it in your main decks (plz)
See this is why I can't stand DGz, is he just trolling?
Not about your comment but all about your "Credentials" Since when did it become commendable to list your invite to Nationals? Man, I wish I could go x-2 at a regional :/ shooooooooooot
Lol, I'm sorry that I don't have the time or money to travel around the country playing a children's card game. I live in a state with a good Yu-Gi-Oh! community, and I feel that I'm an alrigh player. I have topped a few regs. Sorry that I don't take the time to list out every event I've topped... =/
I remember when I was 12 and I was worried about not getting an invite because I Top8'd and wasn't sure if the invites would pass down to me from Top4. It was in April though so luckily it did Now people are proud for Top32'ing regionals. Smh.
Lol, I love the game but I can't stand what KDE is doing to it..
I can count on two hands since I started playing windups post banlist the amount of times I have preferred to make zenmaioh over tiras/adreus. Thats testing and real matches both.Maybe because its how conservative I play, and I know a few friends of mine swear by zenmaioh but I just don't use it. In my eyes, zenmaioh is only getting value if he's popping a d prison, mirror force, or something like geargiarmor. Like realistically, what else is he going to pop? Tiras already doesn't care about force, and Geargia isn't too common. Bottomless, TT, ceiling, book, rivalry/gozen, compulse, fiendish, mst, dust, warning, probably judgment too would just all have been used beforehand. I also don't like how zenmaioh can throw me into a starlight. I mean, yeah I can just "use proper reads" to find the d prison and blow up one of cards and maybe If I'm really a master my card is sangan/mst/dust or something, but life just doesn't work out that way all the time. I'd rather choose the safe option and opt for tiras instead of using an extra deck slot just to blow up d prison, which is really, right now, the only thing zenmaioh could hit that tiras either doesn't care about or could just blow up itself And knives, I totally disagree with your logic. "If they have gorz, ill just deal with it". How? You already used your rank 5 for maioh who's just straight up weaker than gorz anyway? If trap stun is up, I'm either gaming them that turn or ending with a ridiculous setup when possible That being said, I don't play trap stun. I don't like how slow it is, I don't like that it doesn't do anything on its own, I don't like how it doesn't actually solve any problems, and I don't like how it still leaves me vulnerable to what is basically a game breaking veiler if it resolves because now I've invested 3 cards into a play that got wrecked by veiler.
I agree with you, I ended up cutting the copy I ran, I feel my play style with the deck is far to conservative to play the card the way it needs to be played.
So I realized I side Sangan out in almost every matchup. Might cut x.x
I don't think I could cut Sangan, at the very least its a great opening turn play... On a side note, here is my current build: Any comments are welcomed.
  9. Cherry Pie

This build looks almost card for card like the deck I posted last week =/. You just happen to be running one CED in the main deck and I am running two Fiendish Chain in my main. Recently I have cut the two reaper I had in my main deck and switched them out with Snowman Eater, because Reaper does nothing to the problem at hand and Snowman does. I have also cut an MST to take my build to 40.
  10. Cosmic Bunny
I know I won't convince you otherwise, but I don't run the third MST, I would keep it sided in favor for 40 of drawing my power cards more often - torrential, dark hole, reborn, storm, rabbit, tour guide... and even guaiba i suppose. 3 MST and 3 Lance is asking for some extremely cloggy hands, and I'm quite happy with the 2/3 ratio I've been playing. Even if it's a minute difference, it's still a difference that can make the difference between bubbling out or squeaking in.
Okay, I see your reasoning, I'll test two.
  11. Cosmic Bunny
for the record, playing 41 so you can "draw less vanillas" is a really bad idea because although you draw vanillas less, you also draw power cards less. And yes, the extra 1 card does make a difference, even if it is minute. That's the idea of perfecting deckbuilding, to reduce variance as much as possible and to ensure you draw your best cards as much as possible. Playing 40 is KEY to this. Now, on the other hand, if your reasoning for playing 41 is that you can't find a card to cut well that's a little better. i still would advocate cutting as much as possible (and if you're already playing 3 lance I would definitely drop 1 MST to the side so you can have a cool 40 cards) but I mean if you're really sold on that 41st card and absolutely can't cut anything well I guess that's what you decide
It's not that I could cut an MST, its just that I really don't want to cut an MST. The card is to useful in the deck. I mean I bait out so many spells and traps already that it is easy for me to MST the one set back row they have and then push from there. I mean its to easy to summon Rabbit watch it get Warning'ed and next turn have a Guaiba play into an XYZ. I want to have three MST's in my deck for times just like that. provided that they have two or more set back rows. I run Starlight road with Bottomless Trap Hole in mind. It is a plus that it protects my feild from Heavy Storm and Dark Hole.
I've played Dino a pretty decent amount this format, and I can safely say my conclusions for problems have been "shit I drew too many monsters and not enough protection." I treat this pretty much as a new style beatdown deck with a few power plays. Before I quit ygo for awhile when I was running old school beatdown the same problems were apparent.
I like to treat this deck as more of an Anti-Meta Beatdown with some XYZ plays.
  12. All I Want.

I personally don't like this deck with a Lightsworn engine, the engine just seems to lead to inconsistency, but then again without Future Fashion you really can't fix that problem. That being said, I like this build. The only part I dis like is the Allure, I just feel as if you would never want to remove anything from your hand.
  13. deck
I dont understand why people play multiples of Orichalcos and not 1 Orichalcos and 1 Terraforming. The way I see it: Unless someone can elaborate, you will have a dead card in deck/hand 2/3 times as opposed to 3/3 times.
I'm gonna give the guy probs just for making the chart. Lol.
