  1. Constellar For The Current Meta

Don't worry I've been testing this deck against the meta as I am within range of a collection of good players who run the meta decks and rogue decks which I will expect to see at events.
  2. Constellar For The Current Meta

I updated the build to only 1 lance but the deck loses to backrow which is why I still have to keep 3 and a lance because of the advantage the deck loses if I get a monster removed. Sounds stupid but backrow heavy decks still exist. I know, but I would rather focus on a line-up like 2 Dress 2 Lance 2 Typhoons or something like that. I understand your reasoning but Fiendish Chain is still a card too :)   EDIT: The Dragon players where I am main fiendish chain to abuse the lack of MSTs in the main and a fiendish chain on Kaus could perhaps end an entire duel for me.
  3. Constellar For The Current Meta

Don't worry, the meta was already broken before I got here :)

Thanks :) The deck is pretty good and you can also use deck lockdown in there too and bounce it at the start of your turn which is pretty good. Plus it's just a good deck in general anyway.
  6. Constellar For The Current Meta

This is what I'm currently working with: http://imgur.com/wJaJqqe   Doesn't look right yet although It's better now anyway.
  7. Constellar For The Current Meta

Never really thought about it like that, I just still think the card is slow though. I'll put in some testing though and see how it does for me.   It's nice to see a duelist who is open to suggestions. Bear can be slow at times, but honestly constellars  have a lot of problems with exhausting their resources too early. Anything that helps with that is worth considering. Constellars have potent XYZs that can make up for card advantage, but sometimes I've found myself in situations where they do something like Bottomless Plaides and then solemn warning Omega in the next turn. Then I'm simply out of any options or plays. I've also tried running star chart for the extra draw power/card advantage but it is too inconsistent. They need to release a constellar that you can discard from your hand to search for it. Until they get something like that or better, they aren't going to do better than tier 1.5 status. Honestly the deck has a good match-up against the high tier stuff of now. And sombre allows me to regain advantage and recycle cards in the late-game anyway. If bear is any good I will pick some up in trade before my next event.   EDIT: However telling a player what cards to add in is still hard to do when cutting cards needs to be done too :)

  9. Constellar For The Current Meta

I can understand why you think that but in a meta where if I end my turn with no xyz it will just fall on me hard. The card is too slow for me to run in this deck. This logic is correct, your really do need to be able to make an Xyz as often and consistently as possible this meta or lose, but it runs completely contradictory to not running Sheratan, who searches one half of an Xyz and most importantly Sombre, and it's not as though you are running more monsters over the Sheratan which would make sense, your build actually seems to have a pretty low monster count and are using traps in some sort of attempt to grind out an Xyz which is not going to be very practical vs. Dragons or Spellbook Prophecy.   People are always adverse to using Sheratan, but the truth is, Constellar is a creature reliant deck, and more creatures that become copies of the creatures you want even if it's at the cost of a turn is something the deck should almost certainly be running. If you open a hand of Sheratan + Level 4 Constellar + traps/spells, I would much prefer that over an extra trap or spell, because that Sheratan is guaranteed to become a monster that you need, whereas you have to hope to draw into one of your 13 monsters next turn and also hope it's something that works with the other Level 4 in hand if it's a Sombre or Kaus which are dead by themselves, or hope that you can keep the Sombre or Kaus alive vs Dragons who can keep summoning to push past one or even 2 backrow or Spellbook Prophecy who can play around the backrow with Wisdom or just remove your Xyz material monster (or your backrow if you chain Lance to protect your monster) with Fate.   Besides that, have you tried something like Deck Lockdown or Vanity's Emptiness to bounce with Pleiades? I've been interested in trying something like that. Nope, I've seen stuff like that though. I hear safezone works too. I'm still in testing at the moment though but I just can't find the cards to cut for sheratan though.

Yeah, I knew I had forgotten something XD
  12. So for this format I am using Constellar because of it's Dragon match-up which I feel it has a good time against the deck.   Monsters: 13 3x Constellar Pollux 3x Constellar Kaus 3x Constellar Sombre 3x Constellar Algeidi 1x Honest   Spells: 13 3x Fire Formation: Tenki 3x Mystical Space Typhoon 2x Forbidden Lance 2x Pot of Duality 1x Dark Hole 1x Heavy Storm 1x Monster Reborn 1x Reinforcement of the Army   Traps:13 2x Dimensional Prison 2x Torrential Tribute 2x Bottomless Trap Hole 2x Mirror Force 2x Fiendish Chain 1x Solemn Warning 1x Solemn Jugdment 1x Starlight Road   Extra: 1x Stardust Dragon 1x Gaia Dragon, Thunder Charger 1x Number 61: Volcasaurus 1x Tiras, Keeper of Genesis 1x Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon 1x Number 16: Shock Master 2x Constellar Ptolemys M7 2x Constellar Pleiades 1x Constellar Omega 1x Constellar Praespe 1x Constellar Hyades 1x Maestroke The Symphony Djunn 1x Leviar The Sea Dragon   Side: 3x Maxx ''c'' 2x Effect Veiler 2x Thunder King Rai-Oh 2x Mind Drain 2x Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror 2x Eradicator Epidemic Virus 2x Soul Drain   Monsters:  I opted not to use Sheratan for this as I feel that it slows down the deck quite a bit giving my opponent a turn to set up their backrow/monsters meaning I could lose the game because of it; instead of this I ran a larger monster line-up of which would be what I was searching for anyway. Standard monster line-up though. I've also decided against running bear because it doesn't really do much now.   Spells: For the spells I am opting to main MST because of the Dark World and Dragunity match-ups which I can have a hard time against which helps to neutralize the field spells that they have; it is also there to remove backrow in backrow heavy decks which still exist. I'm leaving forbidden lance in to get me over monsters which are bigger than mine and to get around fiendish chains which end my Pollux effects too.   Traps:  For the traps I am still running a standard line-up as I feel that none of these traps have lost any real relevance in the meta despite what people say with Bottomless removing Big Eye and Dracossack before getting their effects off as well as Dimensional Prison removing the Dracossack with tokens up. Also having 2 card outs to LaDD is important too.   Extra Deck: The Extra Deck is pretty standard except lacking a Cowboy which is now an Adreus because it is an EEV target for the Prophecy Match-up with Leviair to bring back cards banished by Sombre.   Side:   Maxx ''c'': Good against decks that special summon alot like Dragons etc. Effect Veiler: Generally good. Thunder King: Good in the mirror and stops Prophecy searches and other search heavy decks. Mind Drain: This will be changed to something more useful. Shadow Mirror: Good against Dark World which I have a hard time against and also Infernity too. Eradicator: Wins games against alot of decks but amazing vs. Prophecy Soul Drain: Great against Dark World and Water.   http://imgur.com/xtoANIf   Anyway this is the constellar deck I will be using for events this format as I feel it is a good meta call for now as it has a good time against alot of meta decks.    ps. Any side deck help is appreciated.
  13. Constellars

Needs more Honest, maybe add a Constellar Stele? (Add 2 from grave to hand and skip battle phase) The honest doesn't need explaining but the Stele helps to keep up advantage and recycle used constellars which you can do even with Sombre.
