  1. 2014 Ban List - This format will only include the format up until the end of North American Nationals Format In this format, we are left with the remnants of mermail-firefist format but toward the end of the format, the diversity of decks will include H.A.T, Mermail, Bujin, Sylvan, Dragon Rulers, Geargia, Infernity, Lightsworn, and Zombie FTK, . Although the format was very diluted at first with such limits and Mermail Abyssgunde and Coach Soldier Wolfbark, the format was given advancments in both creativity of diversity when the set Dragons of Legend was set to be released with defining cards such as Kuribandit, Fire and Ice Hand, Mathematician, Wiretap and the most iconic and one thetranscendant cards in the history of YGO, Soul Charge. Post Dragons of Legend, The first event was ARG Richmond (decklists here), where top the top 16 included Fire Fist, Bujin, Mermail, Geargia, Ghostrick and at last, Patrick Hoban's Dragon Rulers had won over A Loli's Dragon Rulers. Match's G1 and G2-G5. However, the meta had continued to evolve past these decks as we get a new set, Primal Origin, with such key cards being released for future meta defining decks that include Traptrix, Madolche, Sylvan and Artifact cards. However, the following event, YCS Philadelphia (Decklist's Here), the expected decks of Madolche, Dragon Ruler and Infernity would top, however would have unexpected decks making it into top 32 such as Inzektors, the newly discovered H.A.T, and even Evilswarm. A giant clusterfuck of decks and such a diverse wide array of strategies (with the top 3 decks not even playing Soul Charge). The format had only began to evolve. By the end of the format, the diversity decks at this point had began to define the format, with every deck having good and bad match-ups, and with nationals 2014 rolling around, no deck had really stuck out as the best deck. Decks like Mermail with Sehabi Kerradine and Bujins with Jeff Jones had some success in ARG's, Lightsworns being a popular deck in europe (Best Video on Youtube), but no clear deck had defined the format. So it was all up the in air as to what deck was really the best deck. Nationals 2014 was one of the diverse tournaments in the history of YGO. In stark contrast to the year before where Dragon Rulers, Spellbooks and ONE Madolche deck covered the entire 2013 Top 64, up to TEN DECKS had topped 64th the event (decklist here), however not all decklists here but I did what I could find). Decks most well known during this tournament consisted of Infernity, Sylvan, Dragon Ruler (Top 16 Duel), Lightsworn Ruler, Spellbook, Geargia (If you guys have Brandon's decklist, that would be great too), Bujin, The G.O.A.T Deck (AKA Reckless Frog OTK (video profile), Jeff Jones Koa'ki Meiru (Round 10 Duel), Fire Fist Artifact Traptrix (Semi-Final Duel), and eventual winner H.A.T (Deon and McDuffie Decklist) (Final Duel Here). In all, the format had a little of everything for every duelist and play style, from control, aggro, and stun. In my opinion, decks were still in their infancy as far as solving the format, with the format being a smaller, decks still had room to evolve and strategies to combat cards were still being discovered.   2. I created this thread because I really couldn't find one similar to it, and I think this is a topic worthy of discussion. If there is another thread similar to this, one of you mods out there please enlighten me. If I am in the wrong subforum, yeah, please enlighten me about that too.   The question is simple: Which deck/decks do you think can be described as "best" in the history of the game? At some point some or all of us have been involved in some sort of discussion over this topic. It might not be the kind of discussion that will push you over the edge competitively, but i find it strange if someone who has played the game for a long time at a competitive level does not wonder which deck would stand atop all others.   Decks like Dragon Rulers or Tele-DAD, the "tier 0" decks, are often referred to as the "best decks" because of their ridiculous dominance over everything else during their peak. But are they really the best decks the game has ever seen? And, more importantly, how are we definining a deck as "best"?   Ideally, the solution would be simple. Use a universal banlist and test everything against everything else. "Full-powered Dragon Rulers" vs "Full Nekroz" for example. However, in practice, this is not so easy.   -First off, because it would require a significant portion of one's time to do, and the players who are competitive enough to know how to use these decks correctly don't have the time, or the will, to test unbanned decks for fun's sake. You can find several Youtube duels of people using "full-powered" decks with a common banlist, but the majority of them suck so bad it's painful to watch, much less draw any conclusions from.   -The second big problem is what kind of universal banlist to use. I will explain what I mean. Obviously, everyone knows what a "full-powered" deck looks like as far as the core of the deck is concerned. However, deck choices, and therefore what the deck eventually ends up looking like, is format-based on the respective metagame the deck was created in. On top of that, the availability of certain cards, which is banlist-specific, itself shapes the picture of what deck is best for that banlist. An example is Soul Charge. With Soul Charge at 3, the best deck will inevitably be a deck that abuses Soul Charge. Therefore, if we consider our "universal banlist" to be including Soul Charge at 3, the decks that will be at the very top will probably be the ones that were created in the format which had Soul Charge at 3. And, quite possibly, decks like 2009 Zombies or 2013 Dragon Rulers would look very different if Soul Charge was a card they could use, and abuse.   So in my eyes, the "best" deck is defined relatively - in terms of how dominant it was in its own metagame and in terms of its maximum ceiling. An additional criterion I usually use is how well a deck can adapt to hits to its core engine (Blackwings, for example, are probably a top deck in that regard, as it took multiple hits to their engine over several banlists to sufficiently neuter them, and to my knowledge they are the only deck to have featured in two consecutive Worlds Finals) - however, that criterion does not necessarily imply the deck was better than everything else in any of its formats, so I can understand if it is excluded from such discussions.   As a point of reference, the decks I personally consider to be the best in the history of the game (in no particular order):   -Dragon Rulers -Tele-DAD -Spellbook (with Judgment) -Gladiator Beast -Frog FTK   [I can provide explanations for my selections if necessary, but I'd like to see how the thread goes before continuing to rant more]

It’s mainly to raise awareness of the new card Dark Matter. I hope we will get the missing cards and dark matter by next year (pp17 in PG2). This deck may never see the light of day in tcg, but I’m hopeful konami will deliver. The deck uses photon plays to summon dark matter, which is a very powerful win condition. First things first; the rulers and rdmd are bricks. Rdmd can be used, but you’d almost always be better off saving it until after dark matter. Sometimes you can wingblast it and revive it, but that is the exception. Eclipse can be pitched with soldier, which you are likely to see (You have a 69.4% chance of seeing soldier in a 5 card opening hand: soldier, wiz, accel.) Photons can make r8 faster and easier than hieratic or mythics and so I chose this engine to do so. Any ruler engine is pretty weak right now and so are their plays.   This deck has an incredible amount of combinations that lead to dark matter. I couldn’t calculate all the ways the deck is capable of doing so, but with some play testing you’ll see what I mean. I did some calculations based on a few scenarios using the revival cards to get some idea. They do exclude the use of Knight’s wolfbark eff as I did them mainly to test how effective all the generic ones were. I also excluded the mini dragon from revival; it can revive photon dragon or a xyz from the grave. It is searchable by wiz, accel, and soldier.   Ns and search means including using accel or wiz. Done in a 5 card opening hand, opening 1 of each.   Ns discards = 11  Draw lvl 8 = 6  Ns revival = 14  Generic Revival = 6 Ns’ discards = 6   Search lvl 8 = 11  Ns’ revival = 9 P(Ns d, D, Ns’ R) = 8.2% P(Ns’ d, S, Ns’ R) = 8.2% P(Ns’ d, D, Ns R) = 7% P(Wiz, GR) = 16.66%   It may not seem like much, but the deck has so many ways to make dark matter. For example Wiz + expedition = 11.3% and Soldier + Photon Dragon = 8.18%. These calculations don’t account for having multiples either. Tbh you really can’t tell much from the calculations, and you’d be better off play testing and seeing how easy it is to make dark matter almost every game; most often you have the ability to do so by t2. A more unique example is Wiz, zero, and mst make dark matter t1. Tribute wiz for expedition, revive with zero, mst so you can use lvl 8 eff, and use expedition to summon dark matter.   Dark Matter itself leads to an otk. After resolving dark matter a common field is blaster, rdmd, and the base photon xyz. You can evolve that xyz again or leave it (unable to otk against shaddolls for some reason). As a note the mini dragon can attach itself to the xyz’s so you can revive a full armor from the grave instead and attach the mini to it for a pop with 0 repercussion from shaddoll fusion or brionic. Also with the extra deck fodder and 2 rulers you can make 2 rank 7 plays a game, and this is why I included 2 over 1.      Match-ups (Have played them, but mainly this is mainly for powerlevel comparison and tips):   Against shaddolls the double attacking dark matter, rdmd, blaster, and tidal should be enough, but if you fear falco into lizard, than you can end your field with the grave xyz, rdmd, tidal or tribute off the extra deck monster after attacking. Photon can be ss by tributing 2 2k or higher monsters and if you didn’t use your ns you probably have a tribute in hand. More likely to happen if you opened a ruler or rdmd as eclipse will now search out a photon dragon. If they somehow break your field you have pretty easy access to the xyz again; mini dragon, accel, wiz, all the revival cards. You also have a r7 play. If you ss soldier you can search out knight to ns, and his atk will reset to 28 at the end phase. Its a pretty easy out to midrash, and will probably force them to set liz/dragon or crash with construct.   Against necloth you can opt to not use the rulers and atk straight with dark matter. You’ll usually have soldier as a chump block if they brionic dark matter away. Trish can only hit 1 ruler and next turn you can swing again with rdmd, ruler, xyz. Be careful not to get djinn locked or exciton’d if you don't or do, respectively, go all out. Having the revival cards is amazing here when you opt not to go otk as 1 can revive the xyz for evolving or soldier into a knight for a r8.   Against qli the backrow and revival can help you live a turn if they went first and went into an otk on their next turn. There isn’t a field they can make which you can’t otk through. Generally if they don’t open a floodgate, and you no out, you’ll kill them.   Against ba you just have to hope you drew more combo pieces than their backrow. I have otk’d through double dante and lake on my first turn, but it depends. Once you yard a lvl 8 it gets easier however, and given how they usually lake/answer a r8 preemptively it isn’t that hard. Sometimes you can bait removal with Pleiades. They don’t have easy natural outs to big monsters aside from virgil and backrow.
  4.  Dragon rulers Since the release of Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy in the TCG Dragon Rulers have made a huge impact on competitive play from the initial "baby build" that dominated 2013 NAWCQ to the September builds ranging from early Plant to the format defining Dragunity and Pure variants. January banlist saw them severely hit, but the player base still refused to lay down the all powerful dragons. While far from dominating, Hieratic Rulers made several tops, while the end of the format saw a new Dragon Ruler deck using Mythic Dragons combined with a lot of draw power, instead of the Hieratic engine. April banlist is here and with Hieratics getting what most see as a minor consistency hit, and Mythic version being intact, Dragon Rulers still remain at worst a possible meta call due to the ability to run Skill Drain in the main without considerate drawbacks.     CORE CARDS   [spoiler] These are the core cards played in Dragon Ruler decks. Banishing dragons to constantly spam rulers is the idea behind using them. Using dragon tuners lets you bring out powerful synchros, while themselves Rulers give access to rank 7 plays. While some spells and traps have good synergy, since the hits the deck got a support engine was needed to either tutor or dig for the rulers, and add additional plays to your arsenal. Dragon Rulers [spoiler]   Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls  Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders  The 4 Dragon Rulers remain the core of the deck and running all 4 is the current standard.  [/spoiler] Tuners [spoiler] Flamvell Guard   Dragunity Corsesca Debris Dragon Influence Dragon While the tuner line-up will depend on the strategy  each player chooses these are the most played. Hieratics will play Flamvell guard and maybe a Debris, while Mythics will add a second Guard and Influence Dragon. Dragunity Corsesca has seen play as an addition to both. Notable interactions: All can be used as Cards of Consonance targets Guard and Debris have a relevant DEF of 2000 Influence and Guard are valid Debris targets Guard is searchable with Blaster, while the other 3 are searchable with Tempest Guard is a vanilla to send with Dragon Shrine [/spoiler]   Spells [spoiler] Upstart Goblin Dragon Shrine Dragon Shrine is pretty self explanatory and is seen as a must at 3 since the limiting of Dragons. Upstart Goblin is nowadays considered standard and has been talked about and written more than enough. [/spoiler]   Traps [spoiler] Skill Drain Skill Drain is arguably the best card in the deck, and its relevance regarding the meta will determine how good Dragon Rulers are. Decks badly hit by it include: Geargia, Madolche, Spellbooks, Constellar, Evilswarm, Fire Fist,... Reckless Greed Reckless Greed gained a lot of popularity during the evolution of Dragon Rulers. Works well in combo decks, and decks that produce hard to break fields, so it can be considered for both variants. [/spoiler] Extra deck [spoiler] Mecha Phanton Beast Dracossack Number 11: Big Eye The rank 7 monsters go together with Dragon Rulers, 2 Dracosac and BigEye are considered staple extra deck cards. Scrap Dragon Stardust Dragon Crimson Blader Colossal Fighter Both deck make level 8 synchros with ease and these are the 4 most played. Leo, The Keeper of the Sacred Tree Trident Dragion Star Eater Black Rose Dragon Your tuner and strategy choice will determine what your extra deck will look like. These are some non-level 8 synchros you can potentially run. Notable interactions: Stardust Dragon and Colossal Fighter work good with Skill Drain up since both effect are not negated by it. Dracossack effect can be used to tribute itself under Skill Drain to still pop a card. Since the addition as Crazy Box as a staple in most rank 4 oriented decks, the importance of  having Leo and/or Star Eater has increased [/spoiler]   Other cards to consider Cardcar D Pot of Duality Hand traps ATK stoppers Mystical Space Typhoon Forbidden Lance Dark Hole Book of Moon Trap Stun Discard traps All "real" traps Stardust Spak Dragon Thought Ruler Archfiend Red Dragon Archfiend Angel of Zera Master of Blades [/spoiler]   HIERATIC BUILD   [spoiler] The first cards used as support were the Hieratic monsters. While not being a serious contender on their own, paired with Dragon Rulers, Hieratics saw a resurrection beginning of January format. While the later shift was geared to Mermail and Fire Fist, Hieratics remained a valid choice. The idea of using Atum to bring out other dragons while feeding the grave and deck thinning with Ashes is still a good one, despite consistency issues and weaknesses it has.   Hieratics [spoiler] Hieratic Dragon of Su Hieratic Dragon of Eset Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit These are the 3 Hieratic monsters ran as support to the rulers. Eset and Tefnuit are combo starters, one a normal summon the other a lvl 6 Cyber Dragon with the Hieratic twist, while Su is the second combo piece able so special summon itself by tributing one of the other 2, and pop a backrow without losing advantage. [/spoiler] Vanillas [spoiler] Labradorite Dragon Luster Dragon #2 Wattaildragon One of the main drawbacks of running Hieratics is the necessity of running Vanilla Dragons to fuel the plays. While some advocate running 2 for extending the combos, considering the decks consistency issues, adding more normal monsters will not help.   Notable interactions: Labradorite has no ATK but is a Debris target and tuner Luster #2 can be tribute summoned over a Hieratic to make a potential Black Rose Dragon. It also can serve as Tempest discard fodder While Wattail can't interact with Tempest the 100 ATK is enough for it to at least be taken into consideration when choosing the normal dragon [/spoiler]   Spells [spoiler] Hieratic Seal of Convocation The Hieratics ROTA got Semi-limited so it will be run at 2 in all Hieratic decks including Dragon Rulers Wingbeat of Giant Dragon Can be a win condition on its own, but is ofter played around, each player has to decide if its worth a slot in the main or side. [/spoiler] Traps [spoiler] Hieratic Seal From the Ashes Fuels your grave with dragons and is along with Atum the tie between the 2 archetypes. Can on its own  fuel 1 Dragon Ruler summon per turn, and its destruction trigger effect makes for some interesting combos, but the fact its an awful card to draw to established fields along with it being slow makes most players regard it as a necessary evil. Call of the Haunted Helps with one of the main problems the deck has, which is the weakness to recover from any disruption. [/spoiler]   Extra deck [spoiler] Hieratic Dragon King of Atum Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger Atum tutors your Dragon rulers out of the deck, and is responsible for one of the strongest opening fields the current meta can provide. While his Invoker-like effect has proven to be crucial for the success of Hieratic Rulers it also illustrates the biggest weakness coming with Hieratics, the vulnerability to hand traps. Gaia is played to complement with Atum, usually at 1. Photon Strike Bounzer Gauntlet Launcher Constellar Ptolomy M7 Other good Rank 6 monsters are viable choices, M7 being to most popular. Notable interactions: Gauntlet Launcher has a high DEF of 2800 which is enough to stop most threats Going into M7 after being hit by Maxx "C" helps not give away advantage as his effect can add a Hieratic to your hand for future use [/spoiler]   Other cards to consider Monster Gate One Day of Peace Enemy Controller Magic Planter Dragard Galaxy Serpent Chaos Sorcerer [/spoiler]   MYTHIC BUILD   [spoiler]   End of the format saw the birth of a new way to use Dragon Rulers, the Mythic deck. Feeding the grave with dragons by paying costs of discard traps proved to have its merits, with probably the only 2 players piloting the deck at ARG Las Vegas having reached the top cut. Having the ability to bring out problem cards like Felgrand and Leo from turn 1, this deck proved to be a force to be reckoned with, and seems to be one of the best decks at the moment.  Mythic Rulers [spoiler] Mythic Tree Dragon Mythic Water Dragon The 2 Mythic Dragons have been debated since their releases and saw play from time to time. Searchable with Redox and Tidal, Water serves as Trade-in fodder while Tree can be used to make Rank 7 plays with Tidal or Rank 4 with Debris Dragon. Together they give access to powerful Rank 8 plays which makes them worth consideration. [/spoiler] Spells [spoiler] Cards of Consonance The draw card to complement your tuner line-up. With your additional consistency cards of choice you will be digging into your cards like no other deck can. Gold Sarcophagus When used with Dragon Rulers Gold Sarc is eventually a +1 cause of the search effects. It searches any of your tuners or Mythics, while in time gives access to a color. Burial from a Different Dimension This is the card people will complain about in this deck, like they did about Return a while ago. Use your big dragon to search, and then just reuse them to put more pressure and win. [/spoiler]  Blue-Eyes engine [spoiler] Blue-Eyes White Dragon White Stone of Legend Trade-In Serves as an additional draw engine and makes sure you always have dragons in grave for your plays. White Stone replacing itself with a Trade-in target and dragon in hand is a handy interaction which can give you considerate advantage. [/spoiler] Disaster Dragon route [spoiler] Masked Dragon Blizzard Dragon Exploder Dragon Other cards used in Disaster Dragon While Blue-Eyes engine was played in both premiere event topping list this deck had January format, the cult following Disaster Dragon has, contributed to builds without BEWD topping smaller events. If less Bear and Marksman are seen, while at the same time more Armor, this might be the way to go. Notable interactions: Masked Dragon searches all your non Dragon Ruler cards, including the Mythics Blizzard Dragon has obvious uses in the Geargia match-up Koa'ki Meiru Drago is another monster typical to Disaster builds which might make Dragons a good pick against Artifacts While Fire Ferret is a better choice in most cases, the fact he can be searched and doesn't target can make Exploder a good choice. [/spoiler]   Extra deck [spoiler] Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis The rank 8 monsters are arguably your most powerful bosses, and can change and win games on their own. The reason to run Mythics is rank 8 access and you should abuse them as much as you can. Exciton Knight Silent Honor ARK Lavalval Chain Queen Dragun Djinn Running Debris Dragon gives you access to rank 4 plays with Mythic Tree Dragon in grave. Exciton and Silent Ark are the currently most powerful splashable rank 4s while the interactions Lavalval Chain and Queen Dragun Djinn can have make them worth consideration. [/spoiler] Other cards to consider Card Trooper Beast King Barbaros Fog King Dragoncarnation Castle of Dragon Souls   [/spoiler]       The Side Deck [spoiler] [/spoiler]   Combos [spoiler] Due to Upstart being played, 1-turn OTKs will be less common.   5. Plant Rulers

      So Dragon Rulers may well be the best deck at the moment, but there's definitely something missing. You can struggle to get out of the early game, and it forces you to run crap cards that don't really help your end game much. Plants allow some of the easiest synchro access in the game, and they're also arguably the archetype, if you will, most improved by soul charge, allowing many combos and putting many big monsters on the board at once.   Plant Rulers never caught on in past formats, because the sheer power of the Rulers themselves was enough to render the options the plants offered obsolete. The deck is at a very different place at this point, so I think plants could be what's needed to make Rulers the clear cut best deck once more. If nothing else, it's a lot more fun. 1x Blue-Eyes 2x Flamvell Guard 1x Mythic Water 1x Blaster 1x Tidal 1x Tempest 1x Redox 1x Debris 1x Mythic Tree 2x Mathematician 2x Kuribandit 2x Lonefire 1x Dandylion 2x Maxx C 1x Spore 1x White Stone 1x One for One 2x Trade-in 1x Cards of Consonance 3x Dragon Shrine 3x Soul Charge 3x Upstart 1x Gold Sarcophagus 1x Foolish Burial 1x Burial 3x PWWB   The deck itself is very standard, the changes from a Mythic Ruler deck being 1 less lv 8, 1 less coc and less defence, depending on what the build is. I'd say PWWB is the best trap this format for obvious reasons, non-destruction removal, deals with established boards, cuts off access to a Ruler etc. Spore and Dandylion are also good discards.  Mathematician and one for one give access to combos and speed up the deck, useful for finishing off a combo or initiating one, and they both thin the deck, if that means anything.  (opening both is a first turn leo, if there's nothing better to do)   1x Star Eater 1x Leo 1x Azure-Eyes 1x Crimson Blader 1x Scrap Dragon 1x Spark Dragon 1x Black Rose 1x Armades 1x Armory Arm 1x Formula Synchron 1x Heliopolis 1x Felgrand 2x Dracossack 1x Big Eye     Armades is a very good beater, allowing you to attack without fear, but it's mostly used as material for another synchro. The same can be said for Armory Arm, but it can win games very quickly, especially with soul charge being played everywhere, and it's brought out a lot because of this. Formula Synchron gets you a card, allows you to carry on synchroing. Spark over Stardust because of the lock with Emptiness and It's fucking brilliant with AA. 1x Maxx 1x Swift Scarecrow 1x Dark Hole 3x MST 2x Encore 1x Bottomless 2x Emptiness 2x Skill Drain 2x Black Horn     Fairly self-explanatory, 3rd maxx for decks that need to ss, same for Emptiness. Scarecrow for OTK decks, Hole for geargia and mermails. MST for everything, 3 against something that can side Fissure, Cosmos or Soul Drain and 1 against everything else for emptiness. Bottomless for dragons, FF if it comes up. Skill drain for everything that needs effects, Black Horn against geargia, and evilswarm if i go first. Encore is to deal with Ophion.   Any suggestions are helpful, open to changes/criticism
  6.   So I’ve finally gotten my very first top after 3 previous bubbles, a massive I really am ecstatic about, and I’d to thank everyone involved, especially the alcohol. This is my first report so stay with me sorry for being boring.   So to get there, we decided to do the usual thing, which is ofc start driving at 3 am in the morning and go go go.  Or more like sleep sleep sleep, 8 hour rides aren't fun. Me and my friends come into Vegas Friday morning and immediately head over to the convention center.  We get through our pre-registration pretty quickly and head over to check into our inn somewhere(idk the name).   Everyone else in my room Jason, Chad, Gabe and Marc, are all playing Geargias and pressuring me into switching over as well, so I eventually just start sleeving up all my Geargia cards and hitting people up for Traptrix’s.   So while I’m sitting here clueless, everyone goes out to eat and I stay behind practicing furiously. I was in the hotel room testing on DN by myself. I got totally smashed in rated with every deck I used. I tried all the decks I could but nothing seemed to work. About 2 hours into my testing, my boy Welchy messages me and asks me what I’m going to use and I tell him it’s the Friday before the YCS and I’ve got no idea at all.   ...   Well played Elvis, well played.   In short, the man steps up to the plate, and after a few simple words of encouragement, he convinces me to play his deck.     I play the exact same main deck and switch up the side a bit. He teaches me the ins and outs and answers most of the questions i have. I start to write my decklist!   [spoiler] [/spoiler] Entering a YCS, have had the exact list for about 8 hours, little to no practice and I just walk in.  Standard plays.  Love me.   Round 1: Alex S.’s Constellars   I see his custom Stardust mat and expect this to be a really easy match.  I was not wrong.   I win the roll G1: This guy mains dfissure??!?! Fml.  He makes a pleiades, but as I am the KING, I have the solemn warning for it. I pull out my groovy moves and win out from there with by the classic tactic of making a large scrap dragon and poking infinite times. G2: Fossil dyna…. zzzzz G3: t1 Stardust drain! best combo!! 1-0   Round 2: Isaac G.’s Bujns   He says this is his first ycs, so i expect something really easy.  FUCK BUJINS.   I win the roll   G1: I make a felgrand first turn and take it quickly from there when i negate his first yamato end phase. G2: I open very poorly again in this game and Yamato just pokes me to death. G3: I open a bunch of draw cards and he opens Yamato once again. It gets to a point where i big eye his yamato under light-imprisoning and win. 2-0   felgrandsSummoned = 1;   Round 3: Drew O.’s Zombies   He drops his deck on the table and i see his whole deck. We didn't even side hehehe.   G1: I basically sit on stardust and a bunch of backrows and win. G2: I draw bad and just scoop after i see him open the nuts. G3: Felgrand first turn is too much for him. 3-0   felgrandsSummoned = 2;   Round 4: Camden Keener’s Geargia   IK this guy and he’s been toppin Jumps since before I’ve even started playing. Pretty sure this will be a hard game…   G1: I’m pretty sure I sit on stardust drain with backrows for most of it and win from there. G2: The game turns into a back and forth game after i black horn is geargiagear’s gigant. I eventually take it after a massive dragon and skill drain grind game. Miracle Dig+Burial~   Or not.  Mythic Rulers da best.   4-0   Round 5: Denny Yu’s Hieratic Rulers   It’s the boy Denny!!! Who would of thought he went out to win the whole event hehe. I sit next to THE BASED LOLI this round as well. Gotta show him I am the REAL Lord of D.   G1: he does some hieratic stuff and eventually bladers my trooper and i lose the next turn. G2: i open bad and he eventually draws into eset su. zzzzz   4-1 :(   Round 6: Michael C.’s Mythic Rulers   Oh man… 1st round after a loss and I’m all shook up. Don’t be on tilt Pelvis! Just win!   G1: I open very well with felgrand and raigeki break. I eventually just poke him down through his mirror force and win. G2: I amount to a comeback where I big eye his star eater to kill his leo and set black horn.   ...yeah you really just read that.   He mst’s my backrow and big eyes and kills me tho :(.   G3: i open super super terrible this game. Oh no I lose   ….except he is too afraid to do anything at all and I eventually draw into shrine and steal the came with Trident.  Trident dragon, future best man at my wedding.     felgrandsSummoned = 3;   5-1   Round 7: Kenneth R.’s Spellbooks   Just one win, just one night can everything go well for me.  plz atem.     G1: I open felgrand and negate his blue boy and quickly take it from there. G2: he opens the nut of secret+temperance and i cry. G3: im fairly certain he has this one. he eventually outgrinds me by making catastor? veiler+blue boy. It gets to a point where i can only summon blaster once more, raigeki break set and he has catastor+one mystery card. He draws and secrets for fate and summons temperance.. -_-. I raigeki break temperance. I still have a chance!! I top deck skill drain and summon blaster and eventually wins. He told me he searched fate instead of wisdom because he was scared of drain?   felgrandsSummoned = 4;   6-1   Sadly enough everyone I room with except one person has all dropped from the tournament. The stress is on.   Round 8: Jonathan S.’s Dino Rabbits?   I played this guy at ARG Vegas last month and he played hieratics, so i assumed he played that. I opt to go for the felgrand drain because I have no backrows to defend a stardust, and eventually win out because felgrand is the best monster in the game. G2: I derp out and don't bottomless a zephyros. I could’ve won this game if i did that oh well. G3: Stardust Drain wins out!~   felgrandsSummoned = 5;   8-1!   I feel like i can actually top! Mostly because this deck is fucking amazing.  I love you Welchy have my babies!!   Overall I’ve played 9 different decks in 9 rounds, pretty awkward, but bearable since Felgrand is an amazing card did you know.  Only 3 hours of rest the next night because my roommates stay up and I didn't want to be left out of the party xD.  Not getting any sleep at all was 110% the reason I didn’t top 8 because I know if I got the full 8 hours of sleep like Urthor told me I would have just gotten handed an amazing deck in draft, but what can you do.  Eventually I wake up at 6:30 am, go buy macarons because this is the 2nd most important thing for topping events (behind sleep) and then I head over to the convention center.   Round 10: Michael Balan’s Hieratic Rulers   I just wanted to win this match so i could top… dang it… Why YCS WINNER D:   G1: I open tempest felgrand and pass my turn. He books my felgrand to which i negate and den he goes off. Fuck you who runs blader at an event like this with no edragons, not pros like Elvis Vu that’s for sure!. G2: He opens really poorly, a picture of Barry’s highlights flashes across my mind,  and I channel heart of the cards, stack my deck, draw decently very decently and take it. G3: I open this game with double mst black horn and blue eyes. Why!?!??! I eventually grind it out until i eventually take the win! Horn is broken!!! 9-1   felgrandsSummoned = 6;   I TOPPED I TOPPED OMG!!! I GO TELL EVERYONE FROM EVERYWHERE AND THEY CONGRATULATE ME! I TOPPED MY FIRST YCS HAHAHA. THANK YOU WELCH!!!!!!   Round 11: Chancy Wigglestove A.K.A. Squiddy’s Mermails   I see that im playing the undefeated squiddy and sit down and get ready. Im debating on giving him the win for his 11-0 but 10-1 sounds so much better than 9-2 so i decide to play.   G1: I sit down and wait. and wait. and wait. Where’d he go? Game loss! G2: He was taking a dump or something and comes back tilted. He makes first turn gaios with 3 backrows and pass. I summon blaster to which he has the BTH. I know I’m probably losing this game by now but oh well. I summon tree and then water. For some reason he doesn't negate tree with AbyssGaios, probably due to immense diarrhea induced stomach pains, and I helio (lol what is this card, not a felgrand that’s for sure) him for the game winning punches.   10-1 EZZZZ YCSSS   I am literally so happy at this point. I can feel like i can take this event! I felt like the hype hahah. My friends wake up and get to the convention center, having proven decisively that Geargia is an awful deck and the Pedigo curse is real at this point, while I couldn't be happier! I ain't no bubbleman anymore hehehe.   Top 32: Jonathan V’s Mermails.   Welchy keeps telling me to win. win. win. To be honest I felt like i was already done with the event. I got my top, I’m happy.  It should be over.   G1: He otks me through stardust and drain. You can say i was shocked. G2: He overextends into torrential and i pick up momentum there with a clutch leo. G3: I open so slow i have to set trooper to not get otked. At this point i just want to give up. He picks off my trooper by just attacking with linde and i see hope. He eventually attacks me directly with both leed and a sphered megalo and go into gaios set debunk. I top deck messenger and feel like i can really win this! i summon and pass for the next few turns because of his dumb maxx c’s! eventually i am able to make a field of felgrand, stardust, skill drain and messenger to his gaios and 2 in hand. I feel so big right now. I burial back 3 edragons and summon everyone for the ultimate push!   In top 16 baby!! Honestly the draft takes so long. Denny is a butt and passes me all the bad cards while he takes all the broken stuff. I even it out by passing loli even worst cards though! hehehe. No wonder he won! hehehe. During draft i was under the impression the minimum amount of cards in a deck was 30 but i guess its really 40? I have 26 monsters in my deck… oh boy….   Top 16: Lenard H’s Draft Deck?   He seemed like a chill guy i guess. Im honestly fairly certain i lost because of my poor drafting.   G1: He has so much advantage over me. I think i lost. I summon Photon Wyvern and blow up literally everything! i win from there G2: he summons double card guards and eventually pushes my shit in even with my stalling with blizzard dragon. For those who are not familiar with the concept of the deck:   Disaster Dragon is an Aggro Control deck that plays disruption strategies mixed with lockdown and high aggression to gain and maintain control of the board. It carries a lot of momentum and explosive power as the deck can consistently drop two or more monsters per turn without losing advantage and often times they will be big monsters. This is done through the use of the deck's backbone card, "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon". This card is one of the most powerful dragons in the deck, outclassed only by a potential "White Night Dragon", or "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon". Red-Eyes' effect allows for the constant re-use of monsters from the Graveyard, as well as the ability to bypass the Normal Summoning limit and the requirements for Tributes that many decks suffer from. As a result, Disaster Dragon decks are packing some of the most destructive, highest ATK monsters in the present Metagame because they can bypass the tribute mechanic required to summon them.   Through the usage of cards such as "Koa'ki Meiru Drago", "Exploder Dragon" and "Light and Darkness Dragon" the deck is capable of shutting down and eliminating a majority of plays made by the current popular decks. The deck plays like a toolbox, with "Masked Dragon" working to recruit the dragons you need for tributes, Synchro Summon, Xyz Summon, monster removal, etc and cards like Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and "Genesis Dragon" allowing you to reuse, manipulate, or trade dragons around. Cards such as "Foolish Burial", and "Dragon Ravine" allow you to dump dragons into your graveyard faster while also aiding in the deck's inherent synergy, but some dragons such as "Yamata Dragon" or "Light and Darkness Dragon" cannot be Special Summoned, thus they are unable to bypass their two-tribute requirement via "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" as most dragons would do. Instead, the deck utilizes "Totem Dragon", a self-recurring dragon that can act as two tributes in order to Tribute Summon a Dragon-type monster. Being a Dragon itself, Totem Dragon is a viable target to search with "Masked Dragon" or to dump with "Future Fusion". Now that we have access to the dragon rulers, I feel like the deck is pretty good and can actually held its own againts the meta. Before anyone says that this particular deck is dead since the september 2012 list, I am just gonna say right now that this deck is far from dead. As long as Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon is not banned, the deck itself will stay alive and will keep evolving as format changes and as more dragon support are being potentially released.   People seem to forget that this deck greatess strenght is: Adaptabilty and the fact that it can evolve through formats as Disaster dragons has alot of variants to play from. In conclusion, as long as players such as Richard Clarke (The Deck's Creator) and other veteran Disaster Dragon players who loved the deck since its beginning still contributes into this deck, the deck would truly not ''die''.      
  8. The weekend began at Card Rush, a pretty shitty locals, where I met up with a bunch of friends. I entered the tournament for some late testing and end up scrubbing out the last round to my friend Juan (burn_em88). I lend out some cards to friends for the tournament and grab late night food with another friend before finally heading to Ed's house for the night. Kyle and Juan are also there. We spend the night discussing card choices, talking about next format, play testing, and all around having a decent night. We obviously don't get any sleep before the event, standard. We wake up around 7 am and head to the gas station for some snacks and drinks. We arrive at the event and get in near the front of the line with some friends. Jard ( tsgreen) spots us and also jumps into the line. He tells me he is playing HERO again, and I offer to lend him prophecy again. He accepts and we scramble to put together his main and side. I entered the tournament with standard rulers.   Event had like almost 800 players. 10 rounds. Typical for SoCal. Tournament starts surprisingly early compared to the past regionals. I also want to apologize If anyone I played against reads this and notices something off, I don't really remember everything that happened as I am writing this report a couple days after the event.   Round 1:  Dark World   Game 1: After he activates dragged down on his first turn, I drop a Spark Dragon and just dwindle down his resources and kill him. His reckless greeds set him back in this game   Game 2: I open  debris dragon, trigon, guard, corsesca, warning. He opens dragged down and obviously takes my warning. I draw another debris dragon for turn, FUCK. My only hope is to establish an AFD and keep his gates off field, but dark smog is a very good card and I concede after he drops 8k on board.   Game 3: I open OK and I have to play ravine to dump tempest. I banish an in hand guard and tempest for redox to make another Spark dragon setting mst and trap stun and a blank. He attempts to play his gates and i typhoon it. He sets like three cards and passes. I attack and pass. I believe he attempts to EP dark smog one of my dragons and I fuck up and stun it. I get swiftly punished by his double reckless greed into allure and other draw cards. He draws into cards like gozen, compulse, and warning. With my ravine being gone I lose shortly.   Match Record: 0-1   I was pretty upset after this match as I lost round 1 to my own scrubby mistake and to dark world lol. The guy was very nice and we talked throughout the day encouraging each other on.   I knew after this point I would have to go 9 in a row to even have a chance at topping.    Round 2: Some weird FTK deck   This was a really swift 2-0. The only thing i really recall from this match is that i pile shuffled his deck and counted 41 and one of the very first cards he played was upstart goblin lol.    Match Record: 1-1   Round 3: Evilswarm   Game 1: He goes first and opens rescue rabbit. I Maxx "C" for the plus and he sets 5. On my turn I sword into a blaster pop on his ophion. I play ravine and he msts it. I pass by setting Return, trap stun, and pwwb. He drops a kerk from his hand and makes an ophion, searches the trap card and swings. He sets the trap card and passes. I set another card I cant remember and pass. He activates Infection in the EP sending the ugly plant guy into the deck and I pwwb it. On his turn he just swings again. On my turn i draw sword into another fire on ophion. I summon scrap dragon and he BTH, I chain trap stun and he has no response, I chain return into his last two backrow which I know both to be pandemic and kill him.    Game 2: He opens with the one Lswarm guy that pops monsters and sets 4. In my DP he flips iron wall. I summon fire ferret and beat him down for a couple turns. He summons kerk and tries to use its eff and i remind him of iron wall. When I try to beat down his kerk with ferret he attempts to fiendish chain I typhoon and simplify the game without killing iron wall and he concedes a couple of turns later.   Match Record: 2-1   Round 4: Constellar   Game 1: He opens sheratan + rota for kaus and pollux and sets a couple backrow. I ravine dump tempest. I SS tidal banishing tempest + dox. He maxx "c" and i just swing into the sheratan and he lets it slide. I set an mst and torrential and pass. He goes pollux + kaus and i torrential him. He passes to me setting one after flashing a forbidden lance. On my turn I blaster pop his older set which was a mirror force. I SS tempest tidal and swing for 5k and make a dracossack and pop the last set, which was the lance. I set enemy controller and pass. He rips sombre and i econ it to my field and he just passes. I proceed to kill him the following turn.    Game 2: The only thing I really remember from this game is that I blackrosed him for like a +3 or something and the game was quickly over after that.    Match Record: 3-1   Round 5: Blue eyes.dck   Game 1: He trade-ins multiple times and establishes an azure eyes and beats me down. I reestablish board presence by taking his blue eyes and kill him the same turn.   Game 2: Somewhere in the game he is able to make two azure eyes and I wall up on AFD and Redox because I am unable to kill the synchros. On his turn he reborns two BEWDS and activates Burst Stream of Destruction and kills me that turn. LOL WUT   Game 3: I refpanel his trade in on his first turn and then he activates another one. This guy was definitely on something and he draws two cards without paying the cost for trade in. I tell him this and he apologizes and puts back the two cards( didnt shuffle his hand) and pitches a blue eyes. I could have instantly won this game by calling a judge but I had a change of heart. Now if I did lose this game and didn't call the judge I wouldn't know what to tell myself. Oh well, I guess a yugioh lesson learned. I ended up winning the game before time because refpanel on trade in is too strong.   Match Record: 4-1   Round 6: Geargia Karakuri   Game 1: Was a very short game. He starts out the game by setting a monster and 3 backfield. I ended up grinding out his backrows and flipping return for literal game.   Game 2: He opens with arsenal and tributes for armor and sets a couple backrow. I play ravine and start dumping dragons and set trap stun and typhoon. He flips armor and searches another arsenal and summons it. He swings with both for 3k damage and tributes arsenal in M2 for another armor and passes. On my turn I ss a blaster banishing tidal and tempest and kill 1 armor by battle. In M2 i make a scrap dragon and he attempts to compulse, I respond with trap stun and pop his armor with my scrap dragon tributing itself. Later in the game I got him down to 1 card on the field, Abyss Dweller, and no cards in hand to my Dracossack. Here I make a rookie mistake by not launching the ssack and tribute a token instead. He tops Electric virus, but it still isn't enough to overcome all my advantage.   I was starting to really feel the exhaustion from the extremely low amount of sleep i got the previous night and told myself mentally to pay more attention.   Match Record: 5-1   Round 7: Evilswarm   Game 1: He opens Rescue Rabbit set 5 and searches pandemic. I blaster pop the ophion  ditching trigon and set trap stun and Pwwb to finish my turn. He draws an eswarm monster and flips the trap card sending back castor and I chain pwwb to it, shuffling it into the deck. He passes his turn. On my turn, flip trap stun and Blackrose his 2 pandemics BTH and black horn of heaven. I drop two big ones and swing for damage and make dracossack. He rips kerk and tries to restablish but he is unable to make an ophion while clearing my sack so I take it next turn. Game 2: He opens with just 4 backrows and passes to me. I play sword and draw into typhoon and MalCat. I set those two and pass my turn. He summons heliotrope for his turn and swings, I catastrophe his 4 set, which consists of warning, gozen, compulse, and pandemic. He is so far behind on cards that he concedes in the following turns. Match Record: 6-1   Round 8: Dragunity Ruler Game 1: He upstart goblins multiple times, plays consonance, and follows that up with sword into a ravine. He dumps a ruler for dux and summons it. When he triggers the phalanx I Maxx "C" and he passes with a set card. On my turn I sword and summon Card trooper. I pump him to 1900 and mill 2 rulers in the process. I special blaster by banishing Redox and Tempest and run over both the phalanx and dux. I end my turn after placing my ravine over his. On his turn he attempts to comeback with another dux but I have Maxx "C" yet again. He does a questionable play by going into Vaj and boosting its attack to 3800 and running over my trooper. He passes his turn and I put him under crimson blader the following turn and that's all she wrote.   Game 2: He opens wombo combo and I dont have the Maxx "C" and he establishes a huge board that I can't really overcome. Not much to talk about this game, except that I notice he sets his backrows before he begins his plays for the turn. This becomes relevant next game.   Game 3: I open double dracossack combo but with only two tokens. We are nearing time so I decide to go for it hoping the life point gain that the two AFD would get me there. He plays an upstart goblin which baffles me since we are literally about to go into time. This puts me at 11k life. However, his opening hand is pretty much the perfect counter to my 2 ssacks but I guess he didn't see it, but he still manages to put me under blader. Before he finishes his turn we go into time.  On my turn I sword into battle fader and compulsory like a master and launch my 2nd dracossack to kill his blader leaving me with two tokens. He is left with an M7 and a blaster on field. When I pass, he typhoons my compulse. On his turn he draws and activates reckless greed. After he resolves the greed he sets 1 backrow, activates ravine, and makes a stardust spark dragon with the searched dux. What I remember after this is that I was left with 8300 life to his 8000. On his last turn in time he sets two more backrows and THEN declares an attack. I ask him to indicate which ones he just set because this was confusing and super shady. When he tells me that a different set card is live I ask the judge watching our match to confirm and he says that a different backrow is the live one. When he swings for game I reveal fader and he has no response, ending the match as I can just pass my last turn in time with higher life. When he reveals one of the freshly set as debunk I breathe a sigh of relief but still remained bewildered as to why he would set his backrows before making a play. A cheater perhaps? Or maybe just bad? I really don't know. Match Record: 7-1   Round 9: Standard Mirror vs Barrett Keys Game 1: I open with what I remember to be card trooper. trooper mills two dragons and I attack for 1900 and set three backrows. Yet again, I really don't remember exactly what happened this game so I apologize If anything is off. I think he just sets two backrows his turn and passes. On my turn I mill 3 again and drop blaster on board for a lot of damage. On his turn I think he attempts to go for a blader play and I have pwwb + book to stop his opposing trap stun? The only really notable thing I remember afterwards is that I blaster pop a set return and he chains it bringing some guys back, including blaster to defense, and I kill him with armory arm equipped to my redox as my trooper was still on board.   Siding: I offered to side out sixth sense and return and he obliged.   Game 2:I believe in this game I get him very low on life, like around 600. I go for game on his trigon (I pwwb a debris I believe) in attack mode with my own debris +tidal + guard and he plays typhoon on my trap stun and I think I let it go and he plays raigeki break on my tidal and I scoop as I would be under blader next turn and I didn't have any resources nor defensive cards. If I preemptively flipped the trap stun I may have won but I still dont really remember everything on board + amount of backrows set.   Game 3: I believe I start with three sets ( trap stun, pwwb, refpanel) and pass. He opens with trooper and mills a single dragon and the rest of them S/T, and mirrors my three set. On my turn I go for blader and I think he tries to torrential my blader and I trap stun, when I proceed to swing he has book. On his turn he tries trooper for the second time and still mills poorly. I'm not entirely sure if he went for a play to kill my blader here but I do end up using wind blast so he must have.  After that he just switches trooper to defense. I flip blader and special blaster and put him under blader and swing for 2800. On his turn he flips his last set to be sword, banishes tidal, and I refpanel him. He passes his turn.  On my turn I go for game and he Maxx "C"s me. I fuck up here and for some reason ss redox in defense forcing me to give him an extra draw card before I can go lethal. Fortunately, he does not draw fader and gives me the handshake when I declare my first attack.   Post Match Thoughts: I had never played nor met Barrett prior to this match and I have to say he is honestly one of the coolest and courteous people I have ever met. If you are reading this, I really enjoyed our match and hope we can play/talk again some time.   Match Record: 8-1   Round 10: Mythic Rulers Game 1: I believe in this match I go first and open with card trooper/sword and a couple of backrows. When he attempts to for a rank 8 play I have phoenix wing wind blast for his water dragon and I kill his earth dragon with trooper. I'm pretty sure he lost out on a lot of advantage here since I was able to mill for trooper for several turns. However, he did end up putting me under 3200 and he went for game under Maxx "C" by putting out Star Eater. Unfortunately for him, Fader don't give two shits about Eater and he scoops.   Siding: We also sided out sixth sense and return Game 2: He opens his first turn with Felgrand and a couple sets. I draw for my turn and play typhoon on his set close to his deck and it was raigeki break. I play my ravine and a color for a color. I set torrential, book, and mst. He summons a color banishing another color and something irrelevant. I torrential, he responds with felgrand, and I chain book to clear the board. Turns go by and I believe he is able to put me under blader because I missed the best play of tributing my trooper and a dragon for a set redox. I have blaster pop for his blader and the game ends soon after that as he focused most of his resources on the felgrand.   Match Record: 9-1 I am super excited after the match and gather around with my group of friends and we anxiously wait for another friend to return from his bubble match. Unfortunately he lost that match and didn't end up topping. We wait around for the final standings and tsgreen fucks around with me and congratulates me on my 9th place finish lol. Lucky for me, the guy I lost to round 1 kept on going at it and didn't drop and I ended up in 7th place!!! Also, Kyle got 4th place with fire fist which was SICK AS FUCK. After the regional, Kyle gets a deck profile with starstrike duelist girl and I took forever trying to find them because I forgot to get in line for my mat and shit. When we finally head out we decide to go to iHop and I had to take the fattest shit of my entire life. After demolishing the toilet for literally 20mns I come back to our table and order a burger. The food was aight but was way too expensive and I prob won't be heading back to an iHop for a while.   Here is my deck list if anyone really gives a fuck     Props + going 9-0 after round 1 + First regional top a year into my competitive "career". I would really like to extend my thanks to not only my friends for helping me out with cards, sleeves, card choices, supporting me, etc. But the DGZ community as a whole because I honestly would not have grown this much as a player without lurking these forums and attaining the vast amount of knowledge that I have stored thus far.       I've been playing around with this a bit on DN. The main focus of the deck is to operate similar to a Dragon Ruler Deck but have a splash of Six Samurai to make Shi En and Naturia Beast. I decided I didn't want to have to many six samurai cards because going into rank 7's is better. Card Choices: Shogun Shi En: Lets me go into Rank 7's easier and also is a Sword target. Debris Dragon: A way to go into Lvl 7 Syn to go into Rank 7s. Searchable with Tempest and able to Sp Sum Elder and Kageki. Dragunity C. : A way to go into Lvl 8 Synchros searchable with Blaster. Grandmaster: Makes Six Sam United & Shogun Shi En more consistent and can be summoned after using Debris. Also can Syn into Lvl 7s to Xyz Rank 7s. Dragon Ravine: Debris can go into Ancient Fairy Dragon to Destroy their Ravine and search mine. Vanity Emptiness: Huge fan of this card, goal is to set it up with Shi En to create a lock. Raigeki Break: Very Versatile, able to discard dragons as a free cost. Compulsory & Bottomless: Mainly protection for Shi-En and other cards.   Cards I choose not to play: Asceticism: I didn't want to focus to much on turn 1 Shi-En because it would make the dragon ruler portion less consistent. Musakani Magatama: Probably will end up just being a side deck card because the lack of main decked cards this is good against. Double Edge Sword Technique: Too much removal from grave makes this dead and synchroing after I already made shi-en isn't that effective against dragons. Book of Moon: I still deciding if this is a worthy piece of protection for Shi-En, etc. Solemn Warning: I'm still deciding if 2000lp is worth it   Side Deck is incomplete and is just cards I've had going in and out the main deck.

If you draw Stardust Assault mode, you can still fall back on the Dragunity/Dragon Engine. Assault Beast is 2000 ATK with tenki and can also be discarded with Redox's effect if Stardust Assault is no longer viable. However, the way the deck is now you are almost always able to make Stardust Assault mode first turn if you draw Tenki, Assault Beast, or Assault Mode Activate.   The deck is currently more on the aggressive side in order to ensure first turn stardust nearly every time. However, I am open to making it more defensively balanced.        
  13. Dragon Ruler Turbo

    Here's a list that I've only tested about 10 matches with. A few on DN and then a few at the local level. So far testing has gone well and I have only taken 1 match loss (due to me forgetting to search a redox -_-). Have played vs a few dragunity/edragon decks and to be honest, it feels like whomever wins the die roll takes it. Super fun opening dragged+winglast and a few bigs :)   Monsters: 12 Big Dragons 2 Debris Dragons (Still unsure if 2 is correct for this build, have yet to run into a problem but it may come out for more defense) 2 Dragunity Corsesca (I decided on 2 only because ravine can search it out) 1 Flamvell Guard 1 Dandylion (Mostly used for what little defense the deck has, I also like to try and set up a tidal dump as early as possible, making the debris live) Spells: 3 Cards of Consonance 3 Sacred Sword 3 Dragon Ravine 3 Upstart Goblin (Great synergy with dragged down as well as all the deck thinning that occurs, playing this after using ravine/searches will increase your chances of drawing into something more relevant) 3 Dragged Down Into The Grave (heart and soul of the deck, resolving this lets you control the board with wing blasts as well as pick out hand traps when moving to otk, its also rarely a bad topdeck, unless playing vs infernity :p. Traps: 3 Reckless Greed (opening multiples or drawing into multiples is usually a game ender) 3 Wing Blast (great synergy with wing blast) 1 Return From a Different Dimension ..... Side: I feel I have many of the bases covered, have been loving divine wrath as its a pseuo encore going first, and pretty powerful vs spellbooks. My only issue is not being able to play around iron wall/gozen, as there are extremely few options available other than general removal. Dragunity seems like the better version so far, as its tricky side vs them. Feedback and suggestions welcome!

    I'm kind of new to the September format Dragons, but in the spirit of trying out every deck I decided to give it a shot. I added LADD to the blue-eyes build because he's a trade-in target and it's actually pretty easy to summon him with the number of dragons in the graveyard.   This deck is all about speed and is unfortunately lacking in defense. I don't think that can be fixed without sacrificing draw power/speed. I'm open to all suggestions. I recognize that the build is a bit rough, but I still had a ton of fun playing it. I realized that 3 swords is a must(I was playing 2, then drop to 1, a huge mistake in my part) to dig your hand traps outside the end phase tricks( and obs, to dig reju ) There isnt any new theory-oh here; i hating more and more that Sarco is a spell and not a monster to discard with babies and MILFs. Droll in G1, at first look,is worst in the Verz match-up than sarco, but you can use it to dig a fire/blaster to make a counter(and some builds are maining Iron Wall).   18. "You're not gonna like this."   I call Rapture the night before the regionals in Arizona. After a six-hour drive, my friend and I are pretty pooped and just want to relax. But Rapture had a brief confession to spill as I phoned him to verify that the deck was in order.   First of all, I wanted to win this Regional. Not top, I mean outright come 1st place and win. That was the goal. And I believed at the time and still firmly believe that it was/is very achievable, especially in Arizona. So, in wanting to win, I wanted to be playing the best decklist for my deck of choice. Don't get me wrong, I test lists and put as much time and effort as anyone else who treats this game as seriously as me. But this week, I had to make an exception. This was the week right before all of my final exams. So I needed to "Get Out of Jail Free" card.   Most of the time I spend online goes toward the Vent group I'm in. And in that Vent group is Rapture. Knowing that he'd been playing since the first two babies were announced, I figured he had a very strong grasp of the Dragon Rulers and their qualities. So I asked him for a list in exchange for a Thought Ruler Archfiend which I literally snagged for free at some locals a long time ago as this guy was quitting the game. Rapture agreed and gave me a list not too long after. The list was a very solid and standard build. But it ran a sidedeck that literally blew my mind when I first saw it.   > PSI-BLOCKER   A side idea given to him by Chris Hentz, Rapture explained that Psi-Blocker essentially turns cards (Ophion) off in a completely different (better) way than Breakthrough Skill or anything like that does. They can't use it. At all. Their continuous effects no longer apply. Because once again, they can't be used. And the best part - cards already on the field are affected by this.   Everything else was pretty standard except for the Kycoos, but I could basically understand what they were for just by looking.   Back to the night before, after I got the entire deck, sidedeck, and extra together, Rapture informs me that he changed the list. To relieve me of worry, he says "Oh don't worry, these cards aren't too hard to get." These cards were very hard to get because no-one wanted to get rid of them. Arizona is so weird sometimes. Anyway, he tells me that he decided to run 3 Sacred Sword and that I should too. My initial thoughts were like everyone elses. "Wow, this build sounds awful," or "What if you draw multiple swords!?" Things like that. But what really changed my mind came down to two things.   A.) Sacred Sword autocorrects my hand and essentially speeds up my deck by allowing me to go through it faster. I can dig deeper for Super Rejuvenation, I can grab an essential baby dragon, I can net more hand traps, etc.   B.) Post game 1, Sacred Sword is great at allowing me to dig and get my side-deck cards more quickly. If I didn't open with EEV vs Prophecy or a good setup vs Evilswarm, it's almost like a chance to fix that. Which, in my opinion, is better than no chance.   But Rapture then told me that both builds he sent me are good but he'd lean more toward the 3 Swords. While I had access to 3 Sword (I was only playing 1 at the time), the side was extremely different. It had some of the same cards, but I'm serious very few people wanted to get rid of their Fusilier Dragons at a reasonable price. So I make my decklist for the Regionals based on the first list.   And right after I turn in my decklist, my friend shouts, "Dude I found Fusiliers!!" I tell the judges I made mistakes on my decklist. I fix it as Round 1 is going up. I make it to round 1 with a completely different deck.   Here's the list.   Monsters: 20 Dragons (3 of each mommy 2 of each baby) 6 Hand Traps (3 Maxx "C" & 3 Effect Veiler) 2 Tuners (Dragunity Corsesca & Flamvell Guard) Spells: 3 Sacred Sword of Seven Stars 3 Super Rejuvenation 2 Gold Sarcophagus 1 Heavy Storm 1 Monster Reborn 1 Book of Moon 1 Card Destruction   Extra: 3 Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack 2 Number 11: Big Eye 1 Gaia Dragon the Thunder Charger 1 Mermail Abyssgaios 1 Thought Ruler Archfiend 1 Red Dragon Archfiend 1 Black Rose Dragon 1 Scrap Dragon 1 Colossal Fighter 1 Crimson Blader 1 Burei 1 Armory Arm   Side: 3 Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast 2 Electric Virus 2 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer 2 Psi-Blocker 1 Swift Scarecrow 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 3 Eradicator Epidemic Virus   The event had around 350 people and it was 9 rounds of Swiss (WITH AN ACTUAL LUNCH BREAK AW YE). Also keep in mind that I'm posting this a week after the Regionals so I don't clearly remember all of my matches. But what I and I'm sure many other from that Regionals will remember is that I wore a shirt covered in kittens. covered in pussy it was a pussy magnet very based     Round 1 vs Machina Phantom Beasts (hehe) Game 1: I thought he was playing Geargia at first because he set a monster and some backrow and off of a Duality revealed a Machina Fortress. So I nuked his set with Dracossack and it was a Mecha Phantom Beast Hamstrat. Unable to deal with a Sack and two tokens, he sets another card (his one defense, Fiendish Chain). So I have Dracossack try and make two tokens and then tribute himself to kill the card, read Hamstrat for a second, Reborn it, use it to get back my Dracossack, summon a Corsesca, make a Burei with it and the Hamstrat w/ 1 token on the field, put another dragon on the field and push for game. Game 2: I open 3 Redox and a Reactan but I win because I drew Flamvell Guard and made a Thought Ruler Archfiend. He was really low after he finally dealt with it and I took his Fortress with Electric Virus and swung at him to win. 1-0   Round 2 vs Inzektors Game 1: So this goes first and you could just tell he opened the stone cold nuts. Dragonfly, Giga-Mantis, Centipede, Sword, Ladybug, & T-Roar. He drew into more traps, which sucked as he Roared after Roared. He somehow had a field of Dragonfly Centipede roar set, his life being at 3200 after some damage and a Heavy Storm that went into SJ. It was futile to even try, but I decided to make a Thought Ruler Archfiend and kill his Dragonfly so I can gain 2400 (Mantis was attached to it). He T-Roars. So I end up having to reborn Dracossack and Exiled Force-ing it to kill Dragonfly. Then, a miracle happens. He misreads Thought Ruler and thinks that it can negate cards that target it. So he attaches Giga-Mantis and puts a sword on Centipede and kills it. I end up making a Nig Eye, take his Centipede and attack for game exact. Game 2: He opens 4 backrow and Dimensional Fissure. So I activate Gold Sarc and remove Heavy Storm. After two turns, I retrieve the Heavy Storm, blow all 5 backrow away (lol) and OTK him. 2-0   Round 3 vs Dragunity Game 1: It goes like any Dragunity-going-second game would. He opened 2 Mystaleaiaiaiiehaigheian guy so I ended up using Effect Veiler early (dam wat a whiff) and he gets a field of Gaia Charger, REDMD, and Crimson Blader. "Oh, I guess I lose," I think to myself. He attacks one of my tokens with Crimson Blader. So next turn I make Colossal Fighter, ram twice and on the 2nd time take his Blader to kill his Charger. He is shut out and loses. Game 2: He goes for the Dux Phalanx wombo combo and I activate Maxx "C", so he just stops. I make a Crimson Blader and shut him out of the game. 3-0.   I get lunch from Mickey D's. (thx for da help ronald)   Round 4 vs Prophecy Game 1: "So, do you want me to take my extra deck out?" He pulls out a fucking Zatch Bell trade binder which I think had exactly 15 "pages". I wasn't sure, considering I've never even seen that before, so I told him to pull it out so I can count it without having to, y'know, see what he was playing. He does and it was 15, but because he didn't want to waste time, he opted not to put them back in. So he's playing Prophecy (wow i should've seen this coming with the fucking zatch bell extra deck binder) and explodes. So he now ends with Tower, Star Hall with a bunch of counters on it, a set Fate and Jowgen. I use Heavy, he chains Fate to flip Jowgen, and then gets Star Hall and Tower's effect. I scoop when I see Jowgen but APPARENTLY he cheated and can't use Tower because it would have missed timing. Game 2: Ok so this guy is a compulsive cheater or something because after that he thought he was slick trying to look at my deck and shit but nah dude I'm the based loli and literally I somehow drew Eradicator through all that cheating and win because I resolved it and hit 8 cards. Game 3: So after the baffled look of "wow!!! how did he have eradicator!?!?!" was literally painted all over his face, I make sure to final cut my deck. I open Fusilier EEV to his nothing and win by hitting 6 cards (that's his whole hand!!!). I don't even know what he had he just lost. 4-0.   Round 5 vs Evilswarm Game 1: So this guy makes an Ophion set 3 without any clue as to what I'm playing. I heavy storm him, use Blaster's effect, and then make a Dracossack. He draws into 2 cards and scoops. Game 2: I'm so excited because I finally get to side into my Psi-Blockers. Now at one point he manages to get two Ophions on the field. One with a material and one without. He SJ'd my EEV earlier so he was pretty low. But I was at 1200. I topdeck Psi-Blocker. My totally dead hand instantly became live. I summon Psi-Blocker. His "response" was literally "um. . . o...k???" I call "Evilswarm Ophion," and he replies with "sure....????" So I start doing stuff and he's like "hey it doesnt work that way" or something like that and calls over a judge. This guy knows like 95% of the judges in Arizona on a very VERY friendly basis but we got one in the 5%, so he rules Psi-Blocker's effect in my favor. He throws a fit, in attempts to get a judge he ACTUALLY knows (at a regionals you can't call judges by name but if you kick and scream someone you know is bound to come over). So the head judge comes over, pats him on the head basically, tells him everything is going to be okay, and tells me Psi-Blocker doesn't work. I straight-up tell him how wrong he is, because he's ruling the card like Prohibition. But no-one listens to me because who am I right so yeah Psi-Blocker gets ruled out of my favor and I lose this game. Game 3: I'm pretty steamed so, since I'm going 1st, I make double Sack and Rejuv for 4. He bahamuts one, which I end up using Electric Virus to get back. I steam through all of his backrow, to the point where all he has left is a Maestroke in defense. Rather than just making a Big Eye, steal it, and attack with everything for game, I decide to take the long way home and needlessly make a Burei which tilts his Maestroke and ram everything into him for game. 5-0   So I make an appeal to the head judge after the match and he still just outright says "no Psi-Blocker doesn't work like that." spoilers two days after the regionals he messages me on FB apologizing for the wrong ruling and then proceeds to ASK ME IF I HAVE ANY EXTRAS WINKY FACE so I had to play the rest of the day with a 13-card side.   Meanwhile right next to us that round some bombass nig tossed a packet of salt at this guy and the guy bursts into tears I was like "dam wat has ygo come 2" pretty hilarious though. I mean it was mainly because the guy crying was saying things like "you gave me a clean final cut and i opened a shitty hand so that means you were stacking me!!!!" etc.   Round 6 vs Evilswarm (Sean Burford AKA THE SALT THROWING GUY) Game 1: hey this is the guy who was using electrum otk at that anaheim regionals i didnt top despite going x-1 So anyway we get to talking as to how dumb that guy he was playing against looked when he tried to accuse his opponent of cheating when doing a final cut. So already things were going pretty casually. But things take a turn for the serious when I heavy his 3 backrow and make 2 Dracossacks!!! He says "show me veiler and i'll scoop" and I don't really know what he had (i could probably guess though) but I showed him the Veiler in my hand and he scooped. Game 2: What I realize is that, rather than starting with an Ophion play, EVEN THOUGH HE HAD IT, he'd always just set some backrow and pass for a first turn play. Which is pretty cool because he ends up flipping Gozen after I use Burner and then makes his Ophion and I just lose because well I couldn't really do much other than like kill either Gozen or Ophion (I ended up killing Ophion first so I could play cards but I couldn't play enough!!!) Game 3: So I make a Dracossack and two tokens and he responds with Gozen Match, King of Feral Imps, and VARSKI!!!! This guy tributed both my tokens for Varski and knocked me outta my element. I really needed some backrow removal so I could play cards and counter the field, but I end up ripping Typhoon and he promptly scoops because he knew I was just gonna snag his Varski. 6-0   Pretty sure it's this round that all my friends started getting their first/second loss. Including dgzrobin/reptillianne varski, who was there hehe   Round 7 vs Prophecy Game 1: This guy draws the nuts like the stone cold unreal unbelievable absolute theory-oh godhand nuts like I'm talkin he resolved 2 Upstarts, 3 Toon Tables, the Judgment Secrets Master Little Spellbook Boy play and rapes me because wow not even 3 sword could save me from that. Game 2: He's making a huge push but doesn't have Daigusto Phoenix in his extra so there was a little cushion for me to come back and make some furious plays. I end up summoning Kycoo to prevent him from using Spellbook of Fate/protect his Jowgen and then I somehow push with Dracossacks for game. Game 3: He opens bad and I open all 3 Fusiliers. He summons Jowgen sets Waboku. I summon Fusilier and try and kill his Jowgen, he flips Waboku. He summons Spellbook Little Boy and Powers it up, killing my Fusilier. He searches Secrets I think and like does stuff so now he has a Fate set and switches Jowgen to defense. I space out his Fate, which he chains to set his Spellbook Little Boy. I summon Fusilier #2 and kill his Jowgen, then I proceed to make a Dracossack and break his set Magician. Now we enter time. Damn. I really wanted that 1st place win. He had me down to 7200 to his 8000. If he drew Wabokus, man that'd be ass. So he goes and puts in more damage by bringing back Jowgen or something and using Spellbook Little Man. But I prevail somehow, clearing away his cards with Dracossack and double-sacking two tokens for my THIRD FUSILIER DRAGON THE DUAL-MODE BEAST!!!!!! This guy came 2nd. 7-0.   Round 8 vs Dragons Game 1: There was only one other Dragon player and he was the guy playing all the mirror matches. Given the fact he's made it all the way to round 8 undefeated, he had to have been doing well. Pretty sure he also psyches his opponents out by repeatedly saying "YOU'RE SO MUCH BETTER THAN ME" and I guess people in Arizona are like "hehe haha yes i am get fucked" and then lose. So I play it cool and Heavy Storm his 3 backrow and push for an OTK. Game 2: He sided in one VARSKI and drew it, but I was prepared and I made sure only 1 token was on my side of the field but apparently that DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE VARSKI TRIBUTES TWO TOKENS ANYWHERE ON THE FIELD WOW WHAT A FAIL WHY DIDN'T I KNOW THAT I lost because that card is just really good vs Dracossack damn. Game 3: I make this great field of like Big Eye, Blader, two tokens and a Dracossack to his very limited grave and he decides to, with that great hand of his, make Lucky Straight. He goes for the 7 three times, doesn't get it, and scoops. He's a pretty cool guy though and I'm pretty sure he just made that Lucky Straight because he really didn't care whether or not he won/had a better play. 8-0   Round 9 vs Prophecy Aw who cares so basically this guy was a friend of mine and we decided to force the draw because he was x-1 to my x-0 and I wanted him to top. But we played a bit and if we went into game 3 I would've been going first and drawn Fusilier EEV so I hope he had Tower hehe 8-0-1 (a draw isnt a defeat ok undefeatable)   I roll for the deckbox, win & get the mat.   Pros: Sacred Sword literally pulling me out of so many desperate situations and giving me access to many over-the-top plays that would completely turn the game around (I know I didn't mention it but typically in every game where you read like "wow i had a really good hand and now ill win" or "i ripped this and i won!!!" or "i used heavy storm!!!" it was because I had Sacred Sword to get me there) Winning the playmat and the deck box getting 1st place idk i think it's pretty neat getting to see a lot of old pals and meeting a lot of friendly arizona/socal players!!! seeing that when vexacus put up my decklist he put my name as Alex "Loli" Juneja shoutout to my boy elijah shipman based bear   Cons: its like the head judge used his psi-blocker to call psi-blocker so my psi-blocker didn't work or something MAN I SURE WISH I COULD'VE PUT THIS CARD TO WORK people on the internet getting mad bc i called the deck versatile lol i mean idk when toolbox stopped being versatile but dam ok i guess a 6 hour drive to arizona and back almost getting a gameloss for writing "fusilier" on my decklist dude i couldn't remember its full name ok never drawing card destruction   thank u dg for all the support

    So I just got home a little while ago from Toronto. Tired as hell but am still going to do a report. I decided to play E Dragon for the event and I have been talking about different choices (main, side, extra) and theory with my good friend Cody Gravelle (Starstrukk) I wasn't sure how popular prophecy would be so stuff like Droll and Lock bird I was on the fence about.   End up getting to the Convention Centre pretty early. I pull crap from my packs and then I start to talk to Bo Tang about the deck and getting some ideas from him. I end up changing a few cards after having some long discussion with him and Sorosh.    360ish players so it was going to be 9 fucking rounds of swiss, a long day as usual in Canada :/ Anyway:     Round 1: vs. Chain Burn I was thinking to myself why me. Why the fuck do I have to play vs this lol. I end up winning game 1 and 2 through Dracossack and Scrap Dragon 141. However, he did drop Metaion and Grand Mole several times which got really fucking annoying.    1-0     Round 2: vs Evilswarm  Game 1: I honestly don't remember much about these early games. I think I used tempest to seach for blaster to pop ophion. Rejuv to draw 4 and then next turn go of. I didn't lose any life here. One point he Judgments a dracossack and I know I have the game from there.   Game 2: He gets me down to 2650 but then I clear Ophion with electric virus, Infestation Terminus his backrow and the ophion and then go off with dragons and otk right there. Side note: I have terminus after this regional. I am never siding it again. Too many times I would open/ draw it before I saw the electric virus.     2-0       Round 3 vs. Evilswarm again....   Game 1: I lost the die roll but I was able to out Ophion plus 4 backrow!.... with the help of storm of course  ;)  So I cleared ophion with a blaster and made dracossack and controlled from there.     Game 2: I couldn't deal any life to him and he swiftly beats me. Don't know what really happened just got pooped on.   Game 3: Refer to game 2. This time he had a Fossil Dyna with 4 backrow to protect it. I had the tsukyomi to book it but no follow ups. Only dragons I was was redox and a blaster.        2-1   Thoughts: I was a little upset I lost so early but I was not about to let that deter me. Even though the Toronto meta is REALLY WEIRD. I saw so many constellar, chain burn and other rogue flying around.       Round 4: vs Frog Monarch.   Game 1: ezpz game. I made crimson blader and lock him out.   Game 2: He got me down to 1100 after using creature swap to take my crimson blader  o.o  But I was able to steal it back with big eye, go into a dracossack, flip Vanity's Emptiness to shut down fader, trag etc and win.     3-1     Round 5 vs Mirror Match   Game 1: He gets me down to 5,000 with a couple pokes after I maxx c  but then I lock him out with a crimson blader.   Game 2: This game took sooooo long. This guy drops an obelisk on me. I can't do shit. I attempt to make blackrose and he has a veiler. We are getting into time after a long protect myself from obelisk battle. He got me down to 5400 I have 2 dracossack and like 2-3 tokens out but am down in life. he makes a dracossack and i end up using veiler to stop token spam. What happens next is a real beauty. I have a full grave, he has 2 cards in hand 1 being a tempest. I use my dracossack's to clear some room on my field by popping tokens and themselves... I go into armory arm he has no response. I equip it to his Dracossack and special blaster and tidal and ram into his dracossack and he dies from armory arm burn damage! Seriously that card is degenerate as fuck! It wins you games you have no right to win haha.   After the match this guy was still wondering what the fuck happened. He couldn't believe I stole that game. But FUCK TIES lol   4-1      Round 6: Mirror Match again <3   Game 1: EZPZ. This guy is playing Ladd LOL. He is able to get me down to 2800 but I have the BT skill to neg Ladd on my turn, steal it with big eye and proceed to win because he used so many resources to bring it out and then get rid of it.   Game 2: I didn't lose any life. I had a random dragon OTK and went for it.     5-1        Round 7: Vs Evilswarm again  <+<   Game 1: I don't really remember what happened. Honestly I just hate this matchup. He got me down to 3500 but like an idiot he decided to judgment a dracossack when I have many resources to play with myself. I get over ophion and beat him.   Game 2: I didn't lose any life. I think he drew horrible but I had a rejuv play and was just able to dracossack poke. Oh he did warning my 1st dracossack which helped a lot.    6-1     Round 8: vs Evilswarm...   Game 1: I was actually able to win a die roll! I lost most of my other rolls so thank God I won this won because this guy mained deck lockdown. I started with a dracossack and draw 2 off of rejuv. He used deck lockdown to stall me out but he couldn't deal with the draco already on the field.    Game 2: This game did not take very long. I was able to get him down to 2800 but he secured the game with an ophion after he cleared my threats.   Game 3: We ended up going into time.  I didn't lose any life but neither of us could push. He had the answers to my dracossacks. He was able to make a Bahamut steal my dracossack take out 2 tokens. On my turn I cleared his board and made another dracossack. His turn comes (we are in time) He is able to make another Bahamut and take my sack again >.> This time after he clears my token he decides not to make tokens for himself because all I have is a redox in grave and 1 card in hand. If he detached then I can bring shit back.   So my last turn I draw to 2 cards in hand..... I drew a blaster! I pitched both blasters in hand to pop the draco giving me a tidal, tempest, and redox in grave. he had a bahamut on field with a pandemic set I went into draco to run over bahamut. I set my reactan because I was up in life and this sealed my victory.     So by this point I am very tired. Well I was all day actually. It was hot in there and I had to piss like every 20 mins from all the water required to stay hydrated. I was also on the bubble which sucked.   Anyway,   Round 9: vs Ervin So Dragon Mirror   Game 1: After our deck check I won the die roll. I opened with something like  flamvell guard, rejuv, gold sarco, maxx c, return and something else. I decided to set return and end. he sets 1 backrow and passes. I draw and I wanted to get things rolling so I pitched guard and burner to bring out blaster (search from sarco for burner) I really have no other plays but I do get to draw 4 off of 2 rejuv.   Ervin's turn comes around and I am assuming he thinks he has to push after I dug off of rejuv so he storms my return and goes to push and I maxx c. he stops with a tempest and redox in def. ( I waited to c off the 2nd special summon)   On my turn I make a big eye, take his redox, summon a veiler go into crimson blader and run over tempest. I was able to go for game next turn.     Game 2: I think he might have opened pretty bad again. I opened 2 electric virus and return. I was able to steal a dracossack after  a couple turns and return sealed the game bringing back a tidal and blaster. He didn't see any hand traps at all otherwise the game could have easily been turned around.       So I finished 5th after swiss. We played out our top 8 match and I 2-0 the mirror. The guy played Ladd and I was just able to crimson blader lock after I stopped him from maxx c.         Overall, the regional was really fun. I would not have done so well if it wasn't for Cody helping me out the week before and even Bo and Sorosh helping me with last minute deck changes.    Pros:    Dracossack mat is fucking sexy E Dragons Super Rejuv Armory Arm Armory Arm Bishop ruling incorrectly and it ended up in my favor <3  oh... and Armory Arm.       Slops:   Evilswarm. Long ass drive in a tiny ass car with 5 people.     So this is the deck I am taking to the Toronto Regional. Main is pretty much set in stone unless I am convinced otherwise to play droll and lock bird. In testing it was pretty shitty.    Note: The blank card in the side is for Exploder Dragon which I do not have for some reason. Reasoning behind playing 2 Sword is in G2 and G3s having access to a Pot of Greed to dig for my side cards is very crucial. 2 is also a nice number because it rarely clogs. I also play Flamvell Guard over Corsesca because it's another fire to pitch with Blaster if need be. However, if I were to play Dragons Ravine (Which I am currently testing) I would swap it for Corsesca for obvious reasons.
