  1. 2014 Ban List - This format will only include the format up until the end of North American Nationals Format In this format, we are left with the remnants of mermail-firefist format but toward the end of the format, the diversity of decks will include H.A.T, Mermail, Bujin, Sylvan, Dragon Rulers, Geargia, Infernity, Lightsworn, and Zombie FTK, . Although the format was very diluted at first with such limits and Mermail Abyssgunde and Coach Soldier Wolfbark, the format was given advancments in both creativity of diversity when the set Dragons of Legend was set to be released with defining cards such as Kuribandit, Fire and Ice Hand, Mathematician, Wiretap and the most iconic and one thetranscendant cards in the history of YGO, Soul Charge. Post Dragons of Legend, The first event was ARG Richmond (decklists here), where top the top 16 included Fire Fist, Bujin, Mermail, Geargia, Ghostrick and at last, Patrick Hoban's Dragon Rulers had won over A Loli's Dragon Rulers. Match's G1 and G2-G5. However, the meta had continued to evolve past these decks as we get a new set, Primal Origin, with such key cards being released for future meta defining decks that include Traptrix, Madolche, Sylvan and Artifact cards. However, the following event, YCS Philadelphia (Decklist's Here), the expected decks of Madolche, Dragon Ruler and Infernity would top, however would have unexpected decks making it into top 32 such as Inzektors, the newly discovered H.A.T, and even Evilswarm. A giant clusterfuck of decks and such a diverse wide array of strategies (with the top 3 decks not even playing Soul Charge). The format had only began to evolve. By the end of the format, the diversity decks at this point had began to define the format, with every deck having good and bad match-ups, and with nationals 2014 rolling around, no deck had really stuck out as the best deck. Decks like Mermail with Sehabi Kerradine and Bujins with Jeff Jones had some success in ARG's, Lightsworns being a popular deck in europe (Best Video on Youtube), but no clear deck had defined the format. So it was all up the in air as to what deck was really the best deck. Nationals 2014 was one of the diverse tournaments in the history of YGO. In stark contrast to the year before where Dragon Rulers, Spellbooks and ONE Madolche deck covered the entire 2013 Top 64, up to TEN DECKS had topped 64th the event (decklist here), however not all decklists here but I did what I could find). Decks most well known during this tournament consisted of Infernity, Sylvan, Dragon Ruler (Top 16 Duel), Lightsworn Ruler, Spellbook, Geargia (If you guys have Brandon's decklist, that would be great too), Bujin, The G.O.A.T Deck (AKA Reckless Frog OTK (video profile), Jeff Jones Koa'ki Meiru (Round 10 Duel), Fire Fist Artifact Traptrix (Semi-Final Duel), and eventual winner H.A.T (Deon and McDuffie Decklist) (Final Duel Here). In all, the format had a little of everything for every duelist and play style, from control, aggro, and stun. In my opinion, decks were still in their infancy as far as solving the format, with the format being a smaller, decks still had room to evolve and strategies to combat cards were still being discovered. 3. Fist of the Beast King

I can't actually find a good video for "Fist of the Beast King" but brownie points to people that do       Monsters (12)   3 Bear 3 Dragon 3 Wolfbark 2 Gorilla 1 Boar     Spells (16)   3 Tenki 3 Tensu 3 Forbidden Lance 3 Onslaught of the Fire King 3 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Book of Moon   Traps (12)   3 Fiendish Chain 3 Tensen 2 Mirror Force 1 Solemn Warning 1 Torrential Tribute 1 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Compulsory Evacuation Device   Side (15)   15 cards that improve your match up against your local/regional/whatever meta.   Extra (15)   1 Crimson Blader   1 Abyss Dweller 2 Tiger King 2 Cardinal 1 Kagutsuchi 1 Emeral 1 Diamond Dire Wolf 1 Cowboy 1 Gemknight Pearl 1 Maestroke 1 Lavalval Chain 1 Papiloperative 1 Crazy Box   The Deck   So its really just 4 axis for the new format, being able to search and recycle Wolfbark every turn and use Dragon to throw out Xyz. Cardinal is broke. Extra deck needs to be fixed. Chain doesn't seem to do anything. Emerals good at reusing Wolfbarks when/if you get through them all. Onslaught provides a lot of turn 1 plays and is my alternative to Duality. Tutors out Boar so you can synchro Blader easily. Kagutsuchi is the strong Xyz Beastwarrior and can mill Wolfbark targets.

  5. Hello, its side dragon here and today before we start with this revamped report I would like to apologize. Wait what? Yes that’s right apologize, apologize to the people on DgZ that had to read my god awful effortless report. Sorry to those people who clicked on my report just to see a NVM when they were expecting to read a well thought out report (you weren’t missing much haha). I would also like to apologize for my immaturity towards the matter, this isn’t because I am a retarded 12 year old boy who got butt hurt, it’s just have a problem with getting put down by everyone on DgZ. I’m sure you can somehow understand how I felt when I was getting crushed like an ant and then when I tried to hide my report I got exposed by Allen Pennington. I have learnt a good few things from my very short experience on DgZ and have learnt not to take people’s opinions to heart and I don’t mean to sound like I know it all but I can guess that someone will say “well if you’re not ready for opinions then you are not ready for DgZ LOL”. I know, I thought this too until I realized I am being pathetic and should just not care what people think, so here I am asking for a second chance at my report, yes this sounds cheesy but I hope that the people that read my awful report last time will at least appreciate that I tried to make it better. So please read and give me an honest comment on what you think of my report. Thank you.     Friday So after getting back from a stressful day at college I get straight on to runescape and train smelting. While I’m on runescape I lurk onto Skype and see in the team chat that there is a regional’s in Nottingham tomorrow. I was astonished as I had not even heard of that regional’s before until now. So after discovering about this regional’s, Kevin eventually invites me to stay over his house to go. Now since I live in Cambridge and he lives in Peterborough I wasn’t automatically saying “YUP see you in 5” I had to think if it was worth wasting all that money to go to Nottingham in such short notice and as you can guess I eventually ended up going to Kevin’s house (mainly because it’s not like I lose any money since if I were to go to Nottingham by train from my house I would have to go through Peterborough anyway lol). So when I get there, just as I expected everyone except Kevin were playing runescape and I’m just like Sadface.jpeg as I didn’t bring my laptop (unless I would have to carry it around regional’s all day). So me and Kevin just end up playing fifa and play testing while Bevan and Josh play runescape. Kevin wrecks me with noblemans mainly because I don’t know what anything does. That lack of knowledge. Though I didn’t even know the potential the deck could have, Dayum. So when everyone is done with runescape and other dribbly stuff we go to bed. Don’t get to bed until like 5am and then…….   Saturday ….We get up at 6am (that one hour of sleep) and I can barely get out of bed as everyone is getting ready. When we’re all ready we call a taxi and get to the train station and then after getting some refreshments we go on the train to Nottingham. When we get to the venue I have to admit I was impressed with this venue, it looked well thought out and big enough to fit 100 odd people in (it’s not like England regionals have any more lol). Even though I haven’t pre-regged it didn’t actually matter, they had enough room. I couldn’t believe it (at other regionals they turned a lot of people away because they didn’t preregister) so I quickly signed up, bought some sleeves, changed a few cards in the main (like 2 SLR instead of one), traded for a lightning Chidori and then the regionals begans. There are seven rounds so let’s begin ^_^   Round 1: Me (firefists) vs Naturias G1: This game was very relaxing for me mainly because I had an awesome opponent who was just as relaxed as me. He starts with a set monster. I tenki into bear and then pop his facedown which is revealed to be dandy. I was like WTF plants, this will be fun :D. So I attack one of the tokens and end with 2 backrow. He just stalls longer with another set and I just take advantage with gorilla and attack the facedown which is cherries. I’m getting major pluses and he just loses because he had a bad hand. G2: I open awful and get beaten down with catastor. No tenki, bear or rabbit in site… Sigh G3: I’m not gonna lie I was very nervous now as if I lose again, I have to tell my friends I lost with tier 1 deck to tier 9999999 naturias lol. So this game I just open broke, tenki into bear, summon tengu, set 3 backrow and end. He sets and ends. I summon gorilla and attack into his set and get free plusses as he ss 2 more naturia cherries. He then just tries to make a push as he becomes desperate. He attacks a cliff into my tengu 3 times and then gets out marion and draws a card with his effect. He then specials grandsoil and specials naturia cliff with grandsoils effect and synchros into catastor. He then attacks carelessly into gorilla and gets caught with a mirror force to the face. Just to add insult to injury I topped a rabbit. GG BRAH. Bevan and Kevin won their games as well and josh like always didn’t enter the regionals and is just trading all day. Good start to the day :P.   Round 2: Me (firefists) vs Darkworlds While shuffling he accidently reveals a mind crush and I’m like “GREAAAAAT its darkworlds I’m going to lose”. G1: Just to make things even worse, he wins the roll and opens card destruction and after all his shenanigans he ends with 2 set backrow, 2 gold and a grapha. After thinking for some time I ended up heavying his back row, using tenki to get bear, use bear to pop gold and then attack bear into gold and damage step lance it. I search for tensu and then use tensu to summon gorilla and then overlay for tiger king. I use tiger kings effect to get out tensen and then set road and fiendish chain and end. This guy was so awful as he attacked into my tiger king and I’m like 0_0 okaaaay…. DMG step tensen. He then sends grapha to grave and in main phase 2 he summons broww and gets grapha in DEFENCE…. Should I say more? G2: In go 3 dimensional fissures. He opens card destruction again and does even more shenanigans but only ends with a grapha on field with 2 set. I rabbit and go into king with tensen set. This is where the weird stuff happens. He goes dealings and discards grapha and kills tiger king. He then heavys and minuses 2 himself and uses TWO gates and ends with a field of gold, grapha and beige (I don’t know why he summoned beige) and does even game me, he puts me very low though. He had no hand and I draw into monster reborn. I set mirror force and reborn and hope for him not to blind mst (I dno man he could play mst hes already showed me how bad he is). He draws and uses prohibition declaring bear and then…. Attacks…. Into Mirror force. He now has no field and I draw heavy. Heavy his prohibition, summon bear and attack and grab a tenki to search for another bear. I then use duality and Auto get the judgment that was revealed. He draws and sets a monster. I draw and pop his monster and he concedes.   Everyone won their second rounds aswell. This just keeps getting better and better until….   Round 3: Me (firefists) vs Acid golem.dek Kevin and bevan get paired up with eachother… come on, seriously. G1: There isn’t much to say until IT happens. I’m using him as my personal beat stick until I make a misplay that costs me the whole game. After he TTs my field I use tiger kings effect to special 2 bears from my graveyard and I get tengu from deck. Now instead of overlaying the 2 bears for tiger king. I end up overlaying the tengu with tiger king for cowboy and burn him for 800 to leave him on 150. Well guess what he does? He summons hydrogetton, get rid of my def bear and grab another hydrogetton, he thens overlays for bahmet shark and my face instantly drops as I realize what I’m facing. He gets out acid golem and creature swaps it to my side, I can’t get rid of it and lose to the burns L. G2: I OPEN SOO NUTTY, rabbit and 5 back row, every attempt he tries to make bahmet is haulted by either warning or bottomless. This was is very fast. G3: He gets out bahmet and gets acid golem out… I lose. Bevan beats Kevin and I tell them what happened and like I expected they laugh xD.   Round 4: Me (firefists) vs Kevin (Six Sam) So Kevin scoops for me, I was soo thankful for this, Kevin if you’re reading this THANKS MAN :’) Bevan lost his round to karukari (this guy has been going crazy all day)   Round 5: Me (firefists) vs Lavals G1: tenki into bear to pop his facedown monster which was irrelevant, I gain too much advantage and take this with a breeze. I was starting to question how he is even 3 -1 lol. G2: I have 2 backrow and he just drops his whole hand. He goes kind of crazy with rekindling and monster reborn but when he attacks with his field (no stardust in sight?) I mirror force and he instantly says “Damn it I thought you might have had that”. I reborn his laval stellar and attack and end dropping him to 1000 (I somehow got him down before but I don’t remember). He draws, sets and end and I end phase mst his roar and attack for game. Bevan wins his round which is good of course. So since the game finished so quick I go hunting, hunting for secret rabbits, but when I find them there not for trade but in his folder (I hate people who do this). Sad times.   Round 6: Me (firefists) vs Wind ups I sacked this guy very hard and if you read this whoever you are I’m soo sorry but its YGO, and this round bevan was paired next to me. G1: He sets 3 back row and ends. I use tenki to bate a possible mst (I drew rabbit) which he had. And when I summoned bear he bottomlessed. So I set 3 and ended and when he draws for turn he says “Are you ready for this”? and then flips up and slaps down the heavy storm and says “PROOO STORM” and I’m just smirking and say “haha you almost had me” and then I flip my starlight road and he just goes to salty mode. Put it this way, I don’t see a wind up this game. G2: he sets mirror and tt and I heavy storm, summon bear and attack to grab the tenki to search for another bear. He activates messenger, and sets 2. I then summon gorilla and he attempts the bottomless but I lance. I then pop his face down. Then I search for another gorilla with tenki and then use tensu to summon another gorilla and pop his messenger. After attack with all I overlay for shockmaster and declare spells. He just can’t do anything after shockmaster locks him out of any options. Sorry man I legit sacked you hardcore. So after the game I just watch bevans game where the guy sacks him so hard, bevan set a rabbit and the guy mind controlled it and then banished it for kabaz and overlayed for laggia for the win.   Round 7: Me (firefists) vs Karukuri As I said earlier this guy had been rolling people all day. He is using a similar build from Miami except he is using a safezone :S (probably a replacement for the warning) G1: I remember him going into level 8 karukuri and nat beast and I bottomlessed it. He then attacked into my tiger king into tensen. He lost from there. G2: he exploded with 4 synchros in one turn and he still had that hand advantage on me 0_0, he basically took a massive shit on me. G3: after opening nuts with rabbit and backrow I eventually get to a point where I have tiger king and bear on field. After attacking with bear I remember I have roach in my extra deck. So I decide to get tensu with bears effect and then summon my second bear and overlay for roach and end. With tiger king, roach and 3 face downs. He wastes so much resources trying to get rid of roach’s materials and when he goes for the black rose play I starlight. He then scoops and says GG. So after seeing the sheet I got 5th so I got 8 packs and a mat, not complaining here J bevan got his invite yet again and got 4 packs, I pulled shit and he pulled the ulti bear :P. overall it was a good event, if you guys want my decklist I can put it on but thanks for reading.     Props: -awesome venue -smooth regionals -top 8ing -bevan pulling a bear -Steelsworn roach -Mirror force (MVP of the deck by far) -Kevin for scooping for me…. THANKS MAN   Slops: -3 hour train journey back -.- -Not getting my secret rabbits :L

Overall, Dragon provides quick plusses and easy, consistent Shock Master access, which was something the standard Rabbit list misses. Other than that, I feel like it's pretty standard.
