Being banned I obviously don't play irl anymore, but I do mess around on DN usually. This format has gone to shit all within a span of a couple weeks or so....I've tried E-dragons/Prophecy, etc...they're obviously too good but they get boring and there's just no point of playing them online when you're trying to have fun. So I came up with this. Monsters: 20 3 Jurrac Guiba 3 Jurrac Velo 2 Jurrac Stauriko 2 Jurrac Aeolo 2 UFO Turtle 2 Pyrorex the Elemental Lord 1 Dandylion 1 Lonefire Blossom 1 Spore 1 Jurrac Dino 1 Jurrac Herra 1 Jurrac Titano Spells: 13 1 Heavy Storm 1 Dark Hole 1 Monster Reborn 1 One for one 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Pot of Avarice 3 Forbidden Lance 1 Foolish burial 2 Creature Swap Traps: 2 Torrential Tribute 2 Mirror Force 1 Solemn Judgment 1 Solemn Warning 1 Call of the Haunted Extra: 15 1 Jurrac Velphito 1 Catastor 1 Stardust 1 Scrap Dragon 1 Black Rose 1 Formula 1 Gaia Knight 2 Laggia 2 Dolkka 1 Utopia 1 Cowboy 1 Maestroke 1 Lavalval Chain At first glance it might look like shit but it's surprisingly working good for me. Here's some explanations Pyrorex: My logic on this card is he looks badass and the entire deck is fire basically so he's easy to summon and has a decent effect. UFO's: searches itself along with stauriko, aeolo, lonefire, etc, creates utility with swap. Lonefire/spore/dandy: I kinda threw these in here but its neat because ufo searches lonefire, and theres nothing bad about being able to make formula synchron or a synchro depending on the situation with spore. the tokens are also nice in case I need fodder for Titano Titano: again another badass looking card and hes fire so i figured why not lol Everything else is pretty self-explanatory and the deck can usually win games alone just by making laggia/dolkka and being that theyre fire type along with Guiba my grave is usually pretty quikcly set up for Pyrorex. I might be missing some really good synchro or xyz so any help would be nice, again it's just a fun deck and I don't expect it to compete with this ridiculous meta we have...but yeah enjoy.
I challenged myself to build a deck that can play 3 Pyrorex the Elemental Lord. At first I looked at the obvious Lavals but I just did not like the monsters it played individually and without Molten Conduction Field, the deck seemed slow and inconsistent already. So then I turned to Volcanics. I loved the idea that with Blaze Accelerator I could pitch a bunch of fires are once to destroy monsters and at the same time fuel my graveyard quite quickly. At first I stuck with the standard 3 Volcanic Rockets, 3 Volcanic Shells but I felt it wasn't enough fires so I looked up more legal targets for Blaze Accelerator and found Volcanic Scattershot. On its own its quite aweful but at worst you can pitch it for Blaze as a one for one removal, but at best you can pitch one and send 2 more from you hand or grave to have a Raigeki effect and at the same time send 3 fires to the grave which is awesome. From there I put this deck together: Monsters: (20) 1 Gorz, the Emmissary of Darkness 3 Pyrorex the Elemental Lord 3 Cardcar D 3 Volcanic Rocket 2 Summoner Monk 2 Royal Firestorm Guard 3 Volcanic Shell 3 Volcanic Scattershot Spells: (13) 2 Blaze Accelerator 2 Pot of Duality 1 Monster Reborn 1 Dark Hole 1 Heavy Storm 3 Mystical Space Typhoon 2 Wild Fire Traps: (7) 2 Torrential Tribute 2 Threatening Roar 3 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast Extra Deck: - All the useful rank 4 xyz's plus Heliopolis just because you have 3 Pyrorex - The interesting xyz is Infernal Flame Vixen who can be made with 2 level 4 pyro monsters. It can pump up to 2700 attack and if it's destroyed while pumped you get to banish 3 monsters in either grave. I can see some uses in the Dragon matchup or even ramming a Hyperion or Grapha seems nuts. Notes: I've included 3 Cardcar's because on the turns you Blaze, you can't attack anyway so you can spend those turns trying to draw into more pyros or Pyrorex's. I've included 2 Summoner Monks to try to get to Volcanic Rocket as soon as possible, and with free Blaze Acceleraters in hand Monk becomes a level 4 tour guide. I've included 2 Blaze Accelerators for consistency's sake and for the odd matchup where I play Macro and it gets removed. I main 3 Wind Blasts because 1) I have a ton of free floaters in my hand (Volcanic Shells) 2) it helps get rid of monsters immune to destruction (e.g., Maestroke, Zenmaines, etc) 3) is another out to Macros and other pesky backrows, but I wouldn't be opposed to swapping those out for Raigeki Breaks. Threatening Roar is maindecked because 1) I don't play a lot of traps and I love to set it as a one of turn one and draw out MST's, 2) If they go off I can flip Threat to survive and then use one of my various monster destruction cards (Blaze Accelerator, Wild Fire, Pyrorex, etc) to blow it all up. Wild Fire is just awesome. With 3 Rockets, 2 Monks, 2 Duality, 3 Cardcar D, the deck can get you Blaze Accelerator pretty easily making Wild Fire live very fast. Wild Fire is pretty much the perfect trap in that it can be activated at any time and can stop combo's in their tracks. For the odd times you don't need Wild Fire or when it's not live, you can just pitch it for Monk anyway so there's always a use for it. I've always loved Royal Firestorm Guard as a card because of how much potential advantage-wise it had but the problem has always been putting a deck together that played enough pyros to warrant even playing one of them. I think with the 3 Volcanic Rockets, 3 Shells, and 3 Scattershots this card is live quite quickly which we want and who doesn't love a walking Pot of Avarice? Also with playing 2 you can keep looping all your pyros (including the other copy of Firestorm) so you'll essentially have infinite Blaze Accelerators therefore infinite monster destruction and infinite Avarice's in the form of Firestorm. The deck is not very competitive but against decks where standard monster destruction is a problem, this deck thrives, but against decks that main Macro or have a ton of monsters that can dodge effs or is immune to destruction, it just loses. UPDATE: After some testing this version may cater better to the meta and may be more consistent The main change is the addition of trooper. It was recommended by Josh and has helped to speed up Pyrorex plays, your firestorm plays, and dig for your volcanic shells.
