  1. Dolby Audio help

So I hate asking for help on comps since that's what I work with all day...but I'm stumped on this: I have an Acer Aspire R5-1T laptop running Windows 10. There is a section under speaker properties titled "dolby audio" that has only a "turn off/on" toggle button and a message telling you the status of said toggle. If turned off, the global volume of the speakers is less than half of the normal level at all times. To the point that I suspect it only plays audio out of one speaker. If turned on, everything plays normally. Wouldn't be a big deal, except the setting automatically turns off every time the lid is closed, the computer goes to sleep or is restarted, when Cortana activates in any way, and occasionally when any audio source starts playing. This means I essentially have to keep the window with that toggle open at all times in order to get full use of my speakers. I've tried removing the audio driver and installing the basic realtek drivers. No effect. Tried auto installing the drivers with the legacy scan. No effect. It's honestly mind boggling to me and extremely annoying.
