1. Hey guys! So the idea was brought up in the Hearthstone thread, and I feel like I would like hosting a tournament more than I would actually playing one currently.   Format: 3 Deck Format, you submit three deck lists to the administrator. Best 2 out of 3 until the Semi Finals, in which case it is Best 3 out of 5. The Winner may not switch their deck, however the loser may switch their deck. Once deck lists have been submitted to the administrator, you may not change your lists up.   Additional rules will be supplied when the type of tournament is chosen, which I have created a poll for.

 3. its me ur boi squiddy with another thread... in light of everyday happenings, there was a game called hearthstone dat became popular recently. over this weekend there was an online tournament organized by a group called Good Gaming and it was advertised on da blizzard.net client so naturally a lot of ppl signed up (~2000+).   TLDR they organized it pretty terribly and nothing was in order. ok that is an understatemint. the tourney was run by 12 year olds with potato mics. entry fee was 5$ which is pretty unheard of in the community, as the majority of online tourneys have been free so far. nevetheless many entered as they partnered with blizzard and it was advertised on the main blizzard client and had a hefty prize pool of $10,000. basically they didnt time the matches at all, and day one of the tournament ended up taking 12 hours! people were getting dropped from the tourney randomly, and many ppl werent even added into the bracket.   they required TEAMSPEAK as an optional download in the email if u wanted to contact an admin during the tournament, and many ppl did not download teamspeak. these individuals had NO IDEA what was going on and played matches that were on challonge bracket, only to find out that they were dropped from the tourney because they werent present in the teamspeak chatroom.   the lucky individuals that won the lottery and could actually participate ended up having to wait almost 2 HOURS between matches, and without the ability to leave their computer or risk losing a round. the structure was terrible, basically u had to win 5 matches to "qualify," for the main event (aka day 2) and day 1 was supposed to start at 5:00 EST but didnt actually start until 8:30 EST AND IT WENT until like 7:00 am the next day and STILL didnt finish, but the organizers were to tired and called it off so they could sleep.   naturally there was huge backlash, and a lot of ppl complained on /r/Hearthstone, the main online community for the game. unexpectedly, one of the "head tournamint organizers" aka a certain dramaman9000 decided to show up to stir up some fresh drama... (|:|)   the thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2pvj0y/my_goodgaming_10k_qualifier_tournament_report

naturally the response wasnt swallowed so tastefully. here are some of the responses

dramaman9000 decides to respond to the heavy hitters:

the reverse-streisand effect; one of the greatest wepons in trolling history (|:|)

soon ppl begin to suspect something is a bit... off about dramaman9000, and that hes likely NOT an actual tournament organizer X___X    but he holds firm

eventually the REAL tournamint organiser shows up, and dramaman9000 is forever eternally banned from /r/Hearthstone, with all of his posts deleted. however to the glory of the playground trolls they can still be viewed in their entirety here:   http://www.reddit.com/user/dramaman9000   but alas, justice dimands retribution... dramaman is to be avenged!    unproterbed, dramaman dons a new guise; suddenly, a new post sprouts in the new section of da subreddit, in the form of a 'formal' apology. this time, by a user named GoodGaming. seems legit. after all, they do have the real name of the organizers, how could they possibly be fake?   thread (original post bilow): http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2pxq14/good_gamings_open_apology_to_rhearthstone

his mention of jesus christ and true faith in da light (that was jehovah's witnesses) was seemingly unappreciated by da sub

and when asked for a refund, GoodGaming demands retribution!

see the posts here: http://www.reddit.com/user/GoodGaming      At this point it got so funny that other characters were created <___< "GGAleirri" makes a banned list for the event XD    http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2py96c/regarding_the_good_gaming_main_event_tomorrow   and laughs were had by many.   here are some other threads in which some of these caracters appear (|:|)   http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2pyf7z/good_gaming_is_filled_with_a_bunch_of_idiots/ http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2pvkn6/good_gaming_10k_tournament/ http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2pvq87/unbelievable_good_gaming_tournament_may_not_pay/     the teamspeak chat also goes crazy and evrybuddy is scavenging trying to get 5 wins so they can qualify for the main event, and they are super overcapacitated and everybuddy is trying to get an admin's attention. imagine dn, but if all the dn calls were in 1 big chat room lol. heres some of the highlights from teamspeak
"Aein#1665": GOD DAMN IT I CANT FUCKING TAKE IT ANY MOURE THIS TOURNAMENT IS A JOKE GOOD GAMING IS AN OXYMORON FUCK YOU ALL BITCHES IVE HAD IT UP FOR 12 HOURS FOR THIS SHI     "CynfulAzever": OMG.... 4. Hello everyone, Paraliel here! I have decided that we need a good competitive scene for Hearthstone. It's a newer game with the potential to be a fantastic competitive scene and is already very promising. I also am interested in just running tournaments and it's just super easy to do this.   Format: Restricted (Basic/Common/Rare/Epic cards only), Double Elimination, 3 Deck Format, Bo3 til Semi-Finals, Bo5 for Semis and Finals, Cut to Top will depend on sign-ups.   Prize Support: $5 to 1st place (This is a test tournament to see how everything goes, will do different tournaments in the future if this goes well, also note to receive the money you will need PayPal)   Entry Fee: Free (Again, a test tournament)   Time: March 22nd beginning at 5 PM EST. (Note if something happens I will let everyone know and the date will be postponed or I will get someone else to run the tournament if issues arise, they should not however.)   FAQ:   1) What is a 3 Deck Format? A 3 Deck Format is where you submit three decklists to the moderator of the tournament (in this case me) and you keep those decks and use them. You may pick whichever deck you wish to start with at the beginning of each round, the winner of each game must stay with their deck until they lose with it and the loser may switch to one of their other two decks but may not use the same deck. Note: Your three decks must be 3 different classes.   2) How do I get Hearthstone to participate in this? Go to www.battle.net and make an account on the website and install Hearthstone. Then you play through the tutorial and go from there. Basic/Common/Rare/Epic cards are incredibly easy to attain so basically anyone can join in on this tournament   3) How much time per round? Due to the fact that this tournament has been changed to a Double Elimination format, people will play until they finish their Best of 3. Be considerate of other people's time.   4) How do I submit my victory or defeat? Each round, the loser shall submit the results of the match to the administrator running the tournament. This allows for no cheating to occur. If I find out someone cheated, they will be disqualified as soon as possible. It's $5, don't cheat.   5) How do I submit a decklist to you? Decklists may be submitted in written out form or you may take pictures of your decklists and submit them to me. If you are on Windows, Snipping Tool and then uploading to www.imgur.com is always an easy option that I use frequently.   6) What server is this taking place on? This is taking place on the NA server, if you have an account on the EU you may log-in to the NA side, however your card collection will not transfer.   If you have any more questions, feel free to say so below. If you wish to participate in the tournament, please post below your battle tag (name#number). You may submit your decklists to hearthstone@masonoliver.com. Please include in the subject line your DGz name, Hearthstone name, and the words Hearthstone Decklists. Decklists must be submitted before Round 1 begins on Saturday.   If you have suggestions, you may say below as well.   Entrants: 1) Gavony Township - Hipsterirony#1991 2) Karakas - PappyCakes#1616 3) Paxman - Paxman#1503 4) that marcus kid - kai#6193 5) Nishi - Nishi91#1734 6) Eye of Ugin - Sage#1892 7) sittin on the bouble - outplayedimo#1996 8) sad - DreamSoda#1361 9) packdaddy - packdaddy#1103 10) 11) 12) 13) 14) 15) 16)
