1. Many of you probably remember a few years back where magic player Korey McDuffie came into US Nationals and both qualified and won with a deck he was mostly unfamiliar with. While this isn't quite as dramatic as that (Oliver has been slowly rising in the MTG community) something fairly similar happened a few weeks ago. Dragon Duel World Champion Oliver Tomajko recently became Magic's National Champion and as such had the opportunity to compete alongside America's leading pro Reid Duke, and Nationals runner up/Platinum Pro Gerry Thompson as team USA in the World Magic Cup. They performed relatively well losing a win and in for top 8 on day 2. More importantly however they basically did the entire tournament in a bandit keith cosplay:
2. With josh graham's new CSP system you too will learn to become a Card Stealing Pro   Don't have enough money to actually buy cards? with this new system, you Can Stop Paying whenever you want!   As I'm sure you all remember (and many want to forget), Josh Graham a few months ago debuted his Card Sharp Pro system.   We reviewed that system, and deemed it to be lacking of value. It wasn't garbage, it just wasn't 97$ worth of information. You'd honestly get better results spending that money on better cards for your deck. This aside, Something else came up during the thread, that had come up many times before, and like usual, was overlooked and ignored.   Josh Graham had stolen $4000 back in 2011 from a DGz user by the name of xXShadowXx, or as we will refer to him from here; Sean.   Sean came to Atem, in seek of assistance.       Earl took interest, and the following was sent to him.        Naturally, Earl got me involved, and the conversation between Sean, Earl and I began.   http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i392/s_rohan08/Screenshots/terms.png   http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i392/s_rohan08/Screenshots/received.png   http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i392/s_rohan08/Screenshots/lies.png   http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i392/s_rohan08/Screenshots/coverup.png   So Josh is a scumbag, the sky is blue. But this continued on for a few more months. At this point in the tale, we're only at February 28th, 2014.   Earl played devils advocate, and raised the concern of doctored screens, because this is a very serious accusation. He recorded the entirety of his facebook chat history with josh from 3 years till present. Videos of that can be found below (and the raw footage which is much easier to read can be requested).             And here we entered a new area. Josh made an arrangement to actually pay the guy back.   On march 12th, 2014       People deserve second chances, and maybe the money he cons from CSP could actually see Sean get his money back. So let's hold back on launching any projects or publishing any videos and see how this plays out.   March 26th,2014       April 1st, 2014         April 18th, 2014     -Sean     - Azrael     It is now July 1st. Canada Day, and my first day off from work in a month; so I had time to buckle down and put this together. We wanted it to be 'near the wcq' so that it could remain relevant long enough for him to not be able to trade as effectively there.    Personally, I wanted to also upload and publish his CSP videos free for everyone else, since Sean has clearly paid for over 400 peoples worth of viewing. After some discussion, we decided this is a bit much, and not that warranted.   I was going to use my website to post this, but that's a bit too tabloidy, so we figured we'll take it to DGz directly; and also link it to the Hearthstone Subreddit. We want the Hearth community that he's now a big part of to be aware of what his character is. He recently won 750$ there, and has now got a coaching job there. Guess how much of that $750 Sean saw.    There isn't anything we can really do to get Sean his money, and we're not asking you guys to pay him any money, This is purely a 'josh is a dick awareness' thread. Most people knew that already, but it's an issue we felt the need to post about.   Effective Immediately, the no-trade tag has been added to his account.     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCSMpDLBdM0   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS1eOZ04cK4
3. http://www.dailydot.com/parsec/magic-the-gathering-pro-myth/ I posted this on my facebook originally. Allen suggested I share it here as well since it could spark some discussion. The article talks about MTG but can translate over to TCG's in general and how it is incredibly hard to make a living off of them as a pro.

5. DuelistGroundz Championship Series: Orlando Registration Tournament Organizer/Pairings : 7hhzz7 & Gojira Rulings Committee : War Council Dispute Committee : 7hhzz7   Hello Duelistgroundz! We're here to bring you another DCS for the next rotation in DGZ's new Past Warring Format, Perfect Circle [starting in June/July]. So now is the time to prep up and get ready for that format!   Format:   We will be operating as the game was during Perfect Circle pre-Phantom Darkness. Monsters have ignition priority. Field Spells are shared between players and will override each other. You draw a card when going first. If you do not remind your opponent to draw to 6, that is considered cheating. Everything before the set Phantom Darkness is legal. LADD, Phantom of Chaos, Dimension Prison, Foolish Burial and Gold Sarcophagus are legal BUT Crush Card Virus is BANNED.   The banlist for said tournament is : http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/September_2007_Lists_(TCG) If you need help on what is legal you can visit Jazz's format library http://formatlibrary.weebly.com/then click for January 2008. If you need some deck lists or find how to build it you can check here: http://kperovic.com/metagame/yugiohe321.html?tabid=33&ArticleId=9266   Decklists:   Decklists are NOT required to play in this event. You may choose to play a different deck every round if you so wish.   You may NOT change any part of your main, side, or extra deck during a round once you begin playing your opponent!   Tournament Format:   This tournament will use a Swiss pairings system. The number of rounds will be dependant on the number of participants.   After the Swiss rounds, there will be a cut to top 8. If the participants exceeds 64 players, we will cut to top 16 instead.   Each rounds will last 3 days. Special extensions may be made for holidays or tournament weekends.   You must player with watchers ON during this tournament. DO NOT play with a password or watchers off.   Activity:   Please do not sign up for this tournament if you do not intend on being active! I want to keep the tournament running quickly and smoothly, and having to deal with activity disputes impedes this.   If both players are found to be inactive, they will both be given a match loss.   If both players are found to be active, the match will result in a draw.   If one player is found to be active and one is not, the active player will receive a match win.   If you receive 2 inactivity losses in a row, you will be dropped from the tournament.   Resolving Game Disputes:   If there is a dispute during the game and the players cannot come to an agreement, contact an admin on Dueling Network or a War Council Captain/Member.   If one player disconnects during the middle of a duel, the opponent may choose to receive the win for that game OR replay the game. The exception to this is if a player disconnects before any cards have been played OR during side decking. In that case, there will always be a replay and no game loss will be issued. If a player disconnects during game 1, both players will be able to side deck for game 2.   If a player is unable to finish the match once it is started, both players should post in the tournament results thread stating so and stating what the game count is (0-1, 1-0, 1-1, etc.). Failure to finish a match may result in an inactivity loss. You may NOT change anything about your deck for the round once you and your opponent have started playing the match, even if you finish part of the match at a later time. Since deck lists are not required we will be following the "Don't be a faggot system" (you may know it as the honor system).   What to do once Pairings are posted:   Contact your opponent ASAP. Send them a PM on DuelistGroundz and ask them what times they are available to play, and state what times you are available to play.   Add them to your Dueling Network friends list.   Message your opponent when they are online. Tell them who you are and that you want to play for the DCS.   Play your match!   Report the results of the match in the results thread. Both players should report the results to ensure accuracy.   Prize:   The winner will receive the Member Title of Disk Commander similar to the Goat Controller Member Title received during the Goat Tournament.   How to Register:   Post your information EXACTLY like this. I'm serious. If you don't post it EXACTLY like I'm going to show you then I'm going to ignore it until you post again and fix it. It should look EXACTLY like this:   DuelistGroundz User Name  - Dueling Network User Name - Time Zone You Live In   Registration will end on Wednesday, April 22nd at 11:59 PM EST. Round 1 will begin Thursday, April 23rd 12:15 AM EST.   Good luck! 6. DuelistGroundz Championship Series: Edison Registration Tournament Organizer/Pairings : l e i l y Rulings Committee : War Council Dispute Committee : l e i l y   Hello Duelistgroundz! This time of year instead of doing just a Goat Tourney, we figured we'd do another special old format to give us some variety, after all variety is the spice of life and we all need to prove our skill not just in our own exclusive field of skill. So this time we are going to do Edison 2010 format, as was voted on in the Poll!   Format:   We will be operating as the game was during Edison 2010. Monsters have ignition priority. 7. So this weekend I heard Kirwan's Game Store (aka the best local in the northeast) was having a regional, so I decided to go. My buddy Chris and I drove 3 hours with mi Madre to get there, and we pulled up at 8, and registered. The tournament began at 1230 (of course) so I decided to get ripped off on a fortune tune, pick up a spellground to look like even more of a douche than I already did, and met up with the meme master aka Mike Albanese and Steed aka Chris LeBlanc. For the event I decided to play BA because it was the best deck of the format and I like really wanted a top (shoutout to Zach McLaughlin for letting me use the deck, you da real MVP). I toyed with it for a day or two and came up with this trash Monstahs 9 BA 3 TGU 3 methmatician 3 raiza BLS -no veiler: I just hate that thing so much. Like its just such an awful card. Dante sheds enough light for bls to be live Spells 3 upstart goblin foolish allure -allure isn't even that good really, I like always sided it out -foolish helps turn 1 plays a ton but I sided it out from time to time -no supply squaaa: so my idea with this card is that like its a good card, but it doesn't contribute to anything the deck lacks. It has draw power, and a lot of people purposely play into their own squads to draw, and go minus anyways. Looking back, I might have played it, but i was never in a situation when I needed it. Trap Houses 3 wind blast 3 karma cut 3 emptiness 3 trap stun (this card is absolutely stupid and a win condition) 2 BTS 1 compuls 1 warning (always sided it out) Typical BA extra, with 2 dante 3 downerd, no astral force because the card is essential a minus and never accomplishes anything the deck can't already do by itself. Side: 2 vanitys fiend (the sole reason why I didnt bubble) 1 mobius (sole reason why I won round 1) 2 back to square one 3 MST (mediocre, only sided a copy in like twice) 1 raigeki- sided in twice, never pulled it off :( 2 chain disappearance 2 mind crush 2 dust tornado ( honestly should've replaced them with end pieces of bread because they were about that useful) Now lets get the tourney: R1 against satellar, based tucker lau g1 he starts off with ukulele and no call or soul charge so I win G2 he savages me late game with soul charge for 4 and I topdeck a raiza G3 we go into time, he has a backrow and no field with a searched altair. I make alucard to pop the alpha, he topdecks vega and I mind crush calling altair for the win R2-green shirt guy with BA G1 I go first and make double dante set 3 search cir at ep, so that pretty much means win G2 he starts off slow with like 3 sets, I draw double chain disappearance scarm karma wind blast trap stun. He doesn't play trap stun so I win R3-black shirt guy with BA G1 has the dragons for my emptiness wind blasts for my dantes etc etc and I make a last ditch temtempo play and get karma'd G2 double dante followed by triple downerd next turn backed by trap stuns is cool I guess. He makes a acid golem I think and I flash BLS for game G3 made tweetie bird aka the birdhouse in time and sat on an emptiness and rode into the sunset on it R4-glasses with yang zing Loved the kid, hated the match G1 he goes math into some archfiend thing and sets creation emptiness and has a soul charge. I dont have trap stun :( G2 I try to deck him out after he makes a godzilla thought ruler that has like 628287 different properties but I realize I have like 13 less cards in deck than he does and go cry 3-1 at this point R5-beard guy with shaddoll G1 I keep spinning his raidens with raiza and he mills 3 fusions. yeet G2 I don't draw into back to square one or vanitys fiend and he just goes nuts and sends his whole deck to grave G3 he has a hand of like 6 cards he always keeps in his hand and I have no reads on them. He rips a charge and drops his whole hand of white+black dragons and chaos monsters and makes leo thought ruler baby dragon for game gotta go fast and win 4 matches to top Chris dropped at this point RIP R6- cool guy with batterymen, not azad surprisingly G1 emptiness> batterymen G2 ^ R7-kid my age with batterymen G1 dante set 4 search tour guide, emptiness his reborn and his tribute summon guy G2 he locks me out with a macro and my own emptiness, no trap stuns in sight G3 he draws 3 fuel cells and I have the trap stun for call on his 9V and I ride fullmetal alchemist aka downerd magician to victory 5-2 at this point, nervous as hell because im a sheer noob and this was kind of a big deal to me R8-cool guy who sounded like Jordan Peele with disaster hieratic dragon ruler REDMD soul charge deck ft. Koaki meiru drago G1 drago makes it so I cant play G2 I karma cut his dragos and emptiness becomes my best friend after I wind blast his hieratics G3 I strap on my saddle, put my feet in the stirrups, kick my vanitys fiend in the ass, and ride that bastard like the lone ranger into round 9. Messed up way for him to go tbh R9-red sweatshirt guy with shaddoll G1 I keep spinning his cards to topdeck and never lose advantage even after he super polys m G2 tour guide resolves 3 times, he keeps setting a hedgehog and I keep wind blasting/raizaing it until he offers the handshake and I stop hyperventilating Finished 7-2, 12th place. First invite because im noob and I got 4 cheeseburgers at mcdonalds on the way back so I mean it couldn't get much better Shoutouts to mike albancheese getting eighth, tim leduc getting seventh, joe bogli coming back hot and getting first. Also shoutout to alex medina just because Pros -vanitys fiend -mcdonalds -selfies with azad -tour guide -zach McLaughlin Cons -yang zings -the smell of yugioh players -chris dropping round six Thanks for reading guys, hopefully i can actually top something real next time :)
8. Back to DGZ and Ygo.

I am back to Dgz and yugioh also since I have now reached a stable point in my life. I finished school and started a job as a Volkswagen technician at a large dealer. I have plenty of time now so I plan to travel to events and actually be active on Dgz and start warring again. Hello again all!

11. Glasgow, Scotland, WCQ 2014 - Tournament Report:   Prelude:   Let me give you all a little bit of background.   Scotland is a country at the north of the UK, its pretty cold. The most common profession is to become a Haggis Farmer, but for those who truly excel during the early years of education, they get to be big-boy YGO players.   Now, Scotland is quite the shithole. And with a shithole, comes a lot of shit players, whom we will refer to as scrubs for the rest of this report. Scotland is filled with scrubs, and we'll be fucked if we're gonna let these scrubs top events and think they're super duper cool. This is how the Team YGO Boyz was born.   I do have to give a brief mention to team D-Boyz from all the way down under in Australia, because they were our true inspirations throughout this tournament, we've watched every single one of their amazing videos and we just wouldn't have been able to make it this far without their quality content.   -----------------------------   Team Boy YGO:   Team YGO Boyz consists of several players from Glasgow,  and most of us aren't actually scrubs, because we know Upstart Goblin is a +1, unlike so many of these scrubs we spoke to during the tournament.   We have myself, Ryan Boy YGO, I won a sneak peek at locals once so I got elected to be leader of the team. I also invented the Cheat Commissioner OTK, the sickest OTK in the history of the game.   We also have Jacky Boy YGO, he's the sexiest man in Scottish YGO today, because he uses Head & Shoulders (no dandruff) on his flowing black hair.   Next up, is Andy Boy YGO, his merit lies in the fact he was the most successful of all the Oompa-Loompas in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, and has made a lucrative career shining shoes in the centre of Glasgow.   We also have Pengy Boy YGO, who is effectively a real life version of the one true god Nicolas Cage, because he has shattered anus after anus on his road to becoming the best.   We have the creator of the Boy YGO trademark, Danny Boy YGO, because he made the name to use on a trading site so people in his school wouldn't find out he's a massive nerd. But he's totally cool with letting everyone know he fucks cats which admittedly is a really, really weird but he knows Upstart Goblin is a +1 so he's in the team.   We have other honorary members such as Liam Boy YGO, Cally Boy YGO, Craigy Boy YGO, Malky Boy YGO, Iain Boy YGO, Maccy Boy YGO, Sully Boy YGO, Farmy Boy YGO but I'll save those stories for my memoirs for when I die of Black Tar Heroin poisoning next year.   But I will reserve a mention for Jordan Gallacher, who used to be a member of the Boy YGO team, but has now left Scotland to sail the world as a cabin boy because of how good he is at scrubbing.   -----------------------------   Prepration:   We realise that this is where the YGO Boyz take over, everybody will gather in Glasgow, the home of the YGO Boyz, we've already stormed the castle in Dundee, and walked away with enough boosters to build a house with, although most of those weren't from prize support, Danny Boy YGO is a bit of a kleptomaniac inbetween being a cat-fucking nerd.   Anyway, we all knew we had to have the best preperation for this event.   But to cut a long story a lot shorter, I went to the casino until 4am, Danny Boy, Jacky Boy and Andy Boy got chased through a park by a gang of haggis farmers, and they had to hide out in a Lidls for 6 hours until the morning. Pengy Boy charged his Nicolas Cage batteries by watching all of the National Treasure movies back-to-back.   Jordan Gallacher was not involved in any of this hilarity because he's a scrub.   We enter the venue, and I consider playing Raccoons because Ponpoko has pilot goggles and Tantan has a drum, and in my inebriated state I find this rather hilarious, so I play Raccoons, but tech in some Spellbook cards to add consistency.    The pairings go up, and they announce that there's 101 players, a new Scottish record! Which is even more amazing since Scotland only has a total population of 57. We also had a lot of cats over here at one point, but Danny Boy YGO quickly fixed that problem.   Jacky Boy YGO says he's playing with no side deck because he don't deckbuild like his buddy Kevin Silva, and I quickly realise he can't beat the Raccoon matchup without siding so I give him 15 anti-Raccoon cards and we're all set. ---------------------------------   Tournament:   Round 1: Ryan Boy YGO (RaccoonBooks) vs Scrub #1 (Stall Burn)   G1 - I Crescent into Secrets into Blue Boy into Master into Fate/Tower/Eternity setup. I play Double Summon, to Normal Ponpoko, get Tantan from the deck. Overlay Blue Boy and Ponpoko for Shining Elf and he scoops.   I put him on a deck that bricks all the time so I put him on Fire Fist.   G2 - He plays Wave-Motion Cannon and sets 2. I Obedience Schooled into Ponpoko/Tantan/Tree Otter, then tribute all for Mega Mobius and Night Beam all his backrow, he scoops again.    1-0   Since I 2-0ed him in 84 seconds, I went to get some Chicken.   Jordan Gallacher didn't play against Machines in Round 1 so he naturally lost, even though he was playing Hoban Hieratic.dek   I quickly had a look around and saw all these anti-Racoon cards people were siding, so I quickly just changed deck to Spellbooks even though it was less consistant.   Round 2: Ryan Boy YGO (Spellbooks) vs Scrub #2 (Zombies)   G1 - I open Eternity, Life, World, MST, MST, Fate. I set everything bar World and pass turn. He plays some LEL IMA ZOMBY cards, and I draw and I'm like "Oh god! Why couldn't I draw an Archfiend! I'd have had the nuts!" and I scoop.   G2 - I open a playable hand and I set up with Fate/Eternity/Tower and he was playing Zombies so I win. I MST a Needle Ceiling in this game and I roll around laughing for a while.   G3 - He sets some stuff, I bait out backrow and have a kind of half set-up just without Tower, but other backrow. He flips Ryko to kill my MST which I chain to kill his backrow, then Maliciouses into a Strike Bounzer against my Fate with 2 Books, and 2 more backrow like a real professional. He then tries to play around Fate by using Creature Swap? Anyway, I compulse his Ryko, and he has to give me his Bounzer so I just push his shit in and win anyway.   2-0   After this round I go smoke some black tar heroin to get that Patrick Hoban buzz of feeling like you're about to die, Jacky Boy tells me he beat my record and 2-0ed his opponent in 53 seconds so I steal his Head & Shoulders and replace it with Pantene Conditioner to spite him.   We go watch Danny Boy YGO go into time (which he does every game even against scrub decks) and then tell his opponent Turtle doesn't work in damage step and the opponent doesn't call a judge and just accepts the ruling so Danny Boy wins his game, making him the first Fire Fist doolist in history to go 2-0 in competitive competition, and we all take him outside for some more of that sweet black tar heroin to celebrate his totally legitimate win.   Round 3: Ryan Boy YGO (Spellbooks) vs Hoban Wannabe Scrub #3 (Hoban Mermails)   G1 - He opens Lavalval Chain + Dracossack + 3 Backrow. I open an equally amazing hand, Priestess, Life, Bottomless, Temperance, Temperance, Justice. I use my amazing bluffing ability, look hard at my hand, then at my Extra Deck, then at my hand, then at my Extra Deck, pick up Dracossack, read it, look at my Extra Deck, then scoop so he doesn't know what I play.   G2 - I open another shit hand, I knew this deck would be inconsitent without my 'Coons to back me up, but I try to grind it out anyway, he misplays about four times which allows me to live through horrendous draws, he leaves my tower for 3 Turns before MSTing it even though he opened and set 2 MSTs. I have to Raigeki Break a Controller at one point so I don't die because I'm so pro at this game. I do the only thing I can, set myself up with Temperance/Wisdom/MST against his 2 backrow and 1 in hand, I blind MST something irrelevant, then summon Temperance but just like an ARG pro his 1-in hand is the Veiler so I lose.   2-1   After this round I reflect upon my loss, and ask myself some questions:   Did I play perfectly? YES Am I playing the best deck? YES Then why did I lose? BECAUSE THE HOBAN WANNABE WAS A STACKING SCRUB   Then I go listen to some Simple Minds with Jacky Boy while shooting some more Black Tar and I suddenly feel a lot lot lot lot better through his motivational coaching but probably mostly from the tar.   Round 4: Ryan Boy YGO (Spellbooks) vs Danny Boy YGO Fire Fist)   This is the round that confirmed there was a conspiracy against the Team YGO Boyz, I played Danny Boy, Jacky Boy played Cabin Boy Jordan, and Pengy Boy played Andy Boy, I've already started the petition on Change.org to replay Re-pair Round 4 of this tournament and play it out from there again.   Me and Danny Boy use the time to shoot some heroin at the table, and he watches some Kittens behaving badly and we start:   G1 - I open average with Fate for 2, and Eternity set-up with no Tower, but his deck isn't pro enough to get around a Fate for 2, so the game drags on and I resolve Temperance backed up with Wisdom and just win the game.   G2 - Lack of Raccoons really hurts this deck's consistency, I opened poorly, but had I saw a Ponpoko I would've been great. Danny Boy takes the win through all the good cards in his deck (the ones which aren't Fire Fists, like Veiler and Wolfbark and Warning) - he just stops my Mag with Veiler, I don't get the set-up, and I get Wolfie-rolled. Danny Boy kept making kitty references again, like how he would meow my lifepoints with his monsters, I also distinctly remember his head splitting in half and then a huge cat came out but that may have been the heroin I was taking each time I searched with a Spellbook.   G3 - We go into time, just like Danny Boy YGO always does. It comes down to his 8k vs my 4k-5kish life. I Temperance/Priestess against his 2 F/D  and have to banish from hand to blow up, I get Fiendished and I chain the Wisdom, blow up Fiendish and hit for 2500, he draws, tops the Tenki (no targets in grave for Wolfie) takes a Bear, attempts to Bear my Priestess, I Veiler, and I'm left with Veiler in hand and Priestess on board to his Bear, 1 F/D and 1 in hand. My turn comes around and its T4 of time, He's on 5.5k, I'm on like 4.5k or something, I draw Secrets, I play Secrets into Master, and he flips the DNA Surgery. I banish Wisdom from Grave to kill the Bear, and he Veilers my Priestess with his last card. The crowd thought it was all over, but I summon Veiler, sync for Scrap Dragon, set Master, pop Bear & Master, and swing for 2.8K, he has to play bad cards in his bad deck so he tops Tensen in T5 and I win. Serves him right for playing bad cards in a bad deck.   3-1   I shoot up some more black tar goodness but the TO comes up and says that they've been having complaints about drug use, that if I bring it out suring the tourney, I have to have enough for everyone. Thankfully because I'm a pro trader I managed to trade my prized Cheat Commissioner deck for a rucksack full of it before the tourney, so we hand it out to everyone, only the Team YGO Boyz take it because we're hardcore and we continue to Round 5.   Round 5: Ryan Boy YGO (Spellbooks) vs Scrub #5 (Harpies)   G1 - I start off with a Fate/Eternity set-up, no Tower again, whaaat a surprise, but anyways, against Harpies I opened up with MST/Fate/Bottomless as backrow which was pretty solid. He Dualities into HHG, tries to play it over Tower and it gets MSTed. He sets a monster, and passes turn, during the EP I Fate away his set Zephyros, put it back in with Tower, draw 2 cards, Normal Temperance, the response is Fiendish Chain, cool, doesn't matter eff Temperance, tribute for cost, special World, response is Bottomless, chain Wisdom, he scoops and we go to G2.   G2 - He goes first and does standard Harpie shenanigans,  making the Dracossack, I open S/T Desttruction and a Fate play so I Fate the Draco and set up the Fate/Eternity/Tower. I figured he held the HHG so on his turn I MST his attempt to play it, he then plays Hysteric Sign face-up, to add Egotist and I Dust Tornado it. The game grinds on at this point and since I keep Tower on the field for a while I keep gaining more advantage. This game took a while, I dominate the game until time is called. He makes an Exciton Knight T1 of time with 1 in hand to blow my World and 2 Backrow, but we both knew I'd set myself up with Secrets + Temperance for Priestess and I end T2 of time having popped Exciton, 6k ahead in life, with Fate + Tower against his 2 in hand and he offers the handshake.   4-1   After this round someone came up and asked if I played Upstart in my deck and I was like of course I do its a +1, and this guy laughed at me. He walks away, I quickly pull an Upstart Goblin from my deck, throw it towards Jacky Boy YGO, who deflects it with his long black hair, and the Upstart Goblin rips through the back of his rucksack. The rucksack splits open and hundreds upon hundreds of Upstart Goblins pour out. Everybody scrambles, collectiong the precious +1s from the ground, and our eyes meet once again. I say:   "A closet Upstarter"   "Be proud of who you are, do not fear the masses."   And he walked away, head held high.   "He can upstart if he wants to, he can leave his friends behind. CAUSE IF FRIENDS DON'T UPSTART AND IF THEY DON'T UPSTART THEN THEY WON'T LOSE A GAME IN TIME"     Round 6: Ryan Boy YGO vs Scrub #6 (Blackwings)   G1 - I open Fate/Eternity/Tower and pass turn, he activates Black Whirlwind and the crowd goes wild! Well, inside I went a bit wild because you know, Blackwings aren't very good. He normals Shura, I Fate on summon, and he Lances the Shura, so I kill the Whirlwind and at that point I'm already ahead, he doesn't have the MSt/Icarus for the Tower so I steamroll the advantage and win.   G2 - I didn't open very well, and Blackwings played their game the correct way, just aggro aggro, he had the MST for my Tower which could've got me back into the game. I had the Mst + Dust for his 2x Iron Wall, but I had no live monster removal so quickly lost.   G3 - I don't really remember the beginning of this game, but I know I had too much advantage mid-game for a deck like Blackwings to keep up with. I kept him from resolving Icarus which is really the only danger card in the matchup, resolved Temperance into World, and resolved Temperance into Priestess and win just as time was called.   5-1   After losing to a Hobanmail wannabe I was back on track to the righteous Top 8 where my GK mat awaited myself, and other non CABIN BOY SCRUB members of the Team YGO Boyz.   The final round awaited, it was one more win to glory, the power of the Gravekeeper mat was pulling me in. Jacky Boy YGO pulled myself, Pengy Boy, and Andy Boy aside, and gave us the greatest motivational speech known to man:   He said:   "Team YGO Boyz"   "We came here, young, naive, boys"   "And we leave as drunk, high, anally-receptive men!"   "We are no longer Team YGO Boyz"   " We are Team YGO Boyzzz!     Round 7: Ryan Boy YGO (Spellbooks) vs Scrub #7 (Spellbooks)   I'm like, this is the mirror, I'll win this no problem.   G1 - I use Spellbook of Dice to go first, followed by a cheeky Spellbook of Stack to set up for the Spellbook of Nuts. Then I go Crescent > Secrets > Blue Boy > Master > Fate and end with Eterniy + Tower as well, with another set I think. His hand isn't good enough, he baits the Fate by using Tower, Eternity's it back and plays it over mine, but he has no follow-up play, I grind out advantage without any Temperance, he tries to make a Temperance play and I Book it on summon and he loses.   G2 - He opens the same as I did G1, Fate/Eternity/Tower, but I'm not a scrub, I'm a member of the MIGHTY TEAM YGO BOYZZZ so with a little help from the Spellbook of Stack I open Priestess/Crescent/Secrets/Tower/Eternity/Secrets - and I proceed to just demolish his T1 setup. I Crescent into Master, and I Secrets into Blue Boy. I play Tower over his Tower to bait the Fate. He has 1 more back row,. I summon the Blue Boy, it gets Fiendish Chained, I reveal for Priestess, drop Priestess, then Eternity back the Tower, play it over his Tower, Master for Fate and set it, I pass turn to him and he doesn't bluff set anything because I have the Priestess + Fate to blow his stuff away, and I Secrets into Magician into Daigusto Phoenix to attack for 5.5k and end the game on my 2nd turn.   6-1   Jacky Boy's huge motivational speech gave Andy Boy, Pengy Boy, and myself 3rd/4th/5th in the tournament and the ability to unleash the power of the Gravekeeper's in future competition.   I go over to watch the final for 1st/2nd and its a Harpie Mirror, which just equates to throwing Harpie faeces at each other and trying to infest the opponent with equally discusting Harpie infections. In the end the true Queen of the Harpies was decided but no-one cared because Team YGO Boyzzz was the only attraction worth staying for.   Jacky Boy YGO then gives us the best news and whips out a small bag of what can only be MORE BLACK TAR so we have a blast and get our prizes and record 10 new videos for our Youtube Channel:   In order of our new series:   #1 - The +1 Chronicles - Upstart Goblin #2 - Jordan Gallacher presents - Is Fossil Dyna a good card? #3 - Bujingi Turtle! Damage Step!? by Danny Boy YGO #4 - Wind-Up Kitten - Card Art Special by Danny Boy YGO #5 - How to Spot a Scrub featuring Jordan Gallacher #6 - Fire Fist Bear can pop Monsters? by Andy Boy YGO #7 - Spellbook of Secrets targets a card in deck and then I can respond by Danny Boy YGO #8 - How to lose to Creature Swap by Farmy Boy YGO #9 - 5 Steps to Healthy Hair with Head n' Shoulders by Jacky Boy YGO #10 - Tantan's Drum, why does a Raccoon need a drum? 12. Whats up DGZ? For the last few days I've been working on a new Gladiator Beast deck. When I scrolled through my DN looking for a base, I found my old Fire Gladiator deck. It has considerably changed since March 2013 Format or how ever long ago it was. I initially wanted to build GladTrix but they aren't aggressive enough for my taste, as opposed to this; extremely control and advantaged based, but it absolutely steamrolls everything else in raw advantage. Want to add 1-2 Fire Formation - Tensen to the main, if anyone can help me fit I'd appreciate it.     Main Deck: 40 Monsters: 15 3 Coach Soldier Wolfbark 3 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Bear 1 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Gorilla  2 Gladiator Beast Laquari 2 Gladiator Beast Darius 2 Gladiator Beast Equeste 1 Gladiator Beast Murmillo 1 Gladiator Beast Bestiari   Spells: 12 3 Mystical Space Typhoon 3 Forbidden Lance 3 Fire Formation - Tenki 2 Fire Formation - Gyokkou 1 Fire Formation - Tensu   Traps: 13 3 Gladiator Beast War Chariot 3 Black Horn of Heaven 2 Dust Tornado 2 Seven Tools of the Bandit 1 Compulsory Evacuation Device 1 Solemn Warning 1 Bottomless Trap Hole   Side Deck: 15 3 Rainbow Kuriboh 1 Cyber Dragon 1 Chimeratech Fortress Dragon 2 Light-Imprisoning Mirror 2 Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror 2 Dna Surgery 2 Mistake 1 Soul Drain 1 The Transmigration Prophecy   Extra Deck: 15 3 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King 1 Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Cardinal 1 Number 101: Silent Honor ARK 1 Evilswarm Exciton Knight 1 Number 50: Blackship of Corn 1 Maestroke the Symphony Djinn 1 Gagaga Cowboy 1 Lightning Chidori 1 Ice Beast Zerofyne 2 Gladiator Beast Gyzarus 1 Gladiator Beast Heraklinos 1 Gladiator Beast Essedarii   Both the Fire Fist and the GB engines have amazing main and Extra deck support all around and both have so much synergy together. The way they fit together is obvious, so I'll explain the things that aren't as obvious. -3 Black Horn of Heaven Stops all those Synchro and Xyz plays. Picks up the workload before War Chariot has to.   -2 Dust Tornado Fire Fist and Spellbooks. The two most important matchups right now. Hits them both. Very good main deck choice. Hits pesky generic backrows and floodgates like Skill Drain and Mistake.   -2 Seven Tools of the Bandit Stops my opponents stuff chain-ables, mostly floodgates and stuff like Geargiagear & Abyss-sphere. Good cards are good and put in a ton of work.
13. Hey all.

Hey guys my name is Sam Keefe and I'm from New Zealand. I first got into competitive YGO when I was like 10 (2007) and I played Anti-Meta Beatdown. When TeleDAD came to power I played a more aggressive build of Beatdown Incorporating a few main-deck tech cards like 3 D.D. Crow to help me keep up and sometimes it paid out and sometimes it didn't. I continued to play till the End of the Synchro Cat Era then quit for a few years... Fast forward to September 2011....   The game has changed a lot. That's for sure. I picked up 3 Agent Fairy Structure decks and started getting back into YGO. Chaos seemed to be the way to go so I took it there. As the format started dying out I picked up a playset of Tour Guide From the Underworld and proceeded to play Agents in a semi-competitive environment. March 2012 Banlist. Earth to 1. Ouch. That hurt me quite a but not as much as Trishula banned. Deck changed a lot and playing through those changes made me a better player. March 2012 Banlist I played Inzektor Agents because It literally wrecked every deck in the competition at that point (I loved that deck so much). It was around this time that I got into Pojo under the alias of 'T.G. Striker', months later changing to Vendetta. I was absent from September 2013 IRL playing for the most part as I was heavily involved in the Pojo community at that point. Mermails were the thing along with Macro Rabbit I believe. March 2013 was a very interesting format, Post-LoTG being ruled by Dragons and Prophecy. September 2013 possibly one of the best Formats I have ever played, with so much diversity. Where am I now...   Trying to get consistently into competitive IRL play, I consider myself an accomplished Infernity player and a competent player and deck builder in general. I've helped a few people at locals with Deck and tech choices etc..   Not too much else to say on the matter of Introductions, I'm hoping to become a member of this community because it is a fair bit less hostile than Pojo c:   Am always keen for Skype or Facebook chats regarding YGO.   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VendettaNZ Skype: Sammy2SkuxxNZ DN: Vendetta. | Scumbag ~ | Bwingz~ Pojo: Vendetta   Hit me up guys, hope to make heaps of new friends and what not here :)

15. Yugioh has been a passion of mine since I've been a kid and my passion is evolving into something new. Lately, I've been wanting to start my own card shop for  a while but i dont know where to start. My hope for this thread is to get some type of insight on some type of direction i should be aiming for. With that being said, what are your opinions on card shops do's and dont's?
16. Hi, I'm back again with another top with the (more or less) same deck! Proof: Richmond: http://www.majhost.c..._october_12.jpg Rockville: http://www.majhost.c..._october_12.jpg Since not much of the deck has changed since last week, I'll use this to try to talk about my match-ups, as well as to help asess/evaluate the local meta. If you didn't catch last week's (it'll likely be a much better read than this one [can't say for sure though as I haven't written this one yet], check it out here: http://duelistground...howtopic=147356) THIS ONE COMES WITH A VIDEO THOUGH =D The deck, in its current state, altered slightly from last week's regionals in Richmond: 3 Grapha 3 Broww 3 Snoww 2 Siilva 2 Fabled Raven 2 Tour Guide From Hell 2 Spirit Reaper 2 Effect Veiler 1 Dark Armed Dragon 1 Black Luster Soldier 3 Upstart Goblin 3 Dark World Dealings 3 Gates To The Darkworld 1 Dark Hole 1 Heavy Storm 1 Monster Reborn 1 Allure of Darkness 1 I forget what this is but I know it's a spell card, it's probably something terrible knowing me; it's in the video 1 Solemn Judgment 1 Dark Smog 3 Reckless Greed - 2 Wild Tornado (borken) 2 Torrential Tribute 2 Needle Ceiling 2 Royal Decree 2 Compulsory Evacuation Device 2 Messenger Of Peace (best) 3 Mystical Space Typhoon - 1 Armory Arm (made once for BLS/game) 1 Catastor (didn't make) 1 Black Rose Drake (didn't make) 1 Scrap Drake (made twice) 1 Stardust Drake (made twice) 1 Fabled Leviathan (made once) 1 Leviathan Drake (didn't make) 1 Leviar Sea Drake (made too many times) 1 Giga Brilliant (made 3 times) 1 Acid Golem (made once) 1 Wind-Up Zenmaines (made too many times) 1 Utopia (didn't make) 1 Adreus (made once) 1 Hieratic Drake Heliopolis Sun Overlord Guy (made 4 times) -- The Tournament: Round 1: Samurai Game 1: He opens United into Beast but I prove to the world how good Fabled Raven is and he's unable to recover. Game 2: I get shat on. Game 3: I get shat on again but outplay his Shi-En by Reborning his blue guy (did I mention this kid is terrible) and overlaying with a Broww into ACID GOLEMZORZ Round 2: Geargia Game 1: He wins the dice roll which is highly unfortunate for him because I definitely would not have played Darkworld Dealings on my first turn had I not known he was playing Geargia via Pot of Duality. Proceeded to dump on him. Game 2: I draw dead. Game 3: Same thing as Game 1 sans the Dealings. I usually side 2-3 of them out because baddies think Gemini Imps is good. I think I went Tour-Guide to get Warning'd and then Gates into Grapha popping his face-down guy, preventing him from getting a search and rendering his deck useless. Round 3: Lightsworn? Game 1: This guy goes to my locals and I literally always lose to him via sack and I normally wouldn't have expected anything different if it weren't for the fact that I'm an infinitely better player with an infinitely better deck. He mills really well but LOL JUST KIDDING, DARK SMOG Game 2: ygo! Game 3: He draws really dead and I Veiler his Lyla, preventing any possible mills. Game was a grind-fest for both of us but Messenger of Peace + Spirit Reaper is ygoz Round 4: Lightrayswornmonstermash.jpeg, also known locally as Lang.dek This guy goes to my locals as well and is the kid that is absolutely terrible at this game but despite that tops every single time because he sacks harder than everybody else in the room combined. Seriously, every locals has one of these guys. You all know what I'm talking about. Game 1: I win this, don't remember how but I do remember details from the later games. Game 2: He summons the Lightray guy that pops my gates in order to pop my Reaper and 1 other thing and I proceed to lose. Also he summons the Shi-En Lightray Warrior guy with like 3 warriors in grave. That was really good. Game 3: Spirit Reaper carries me home tonight~ Round 5: Ninjas! Game 1: I'm getting terrorized by Guaiba via Fiendish Chain on my Tour Guide when mid-game he flips that Ninja trap card thing on my Grapha that lets him summon a big guy from his deck when he realizes he's playing a 38 card deck (2 of his cards have been in his extra deck this whole time). Judge comes by and rules that it's an irreparable game-state so I get the win. He feels stupid for making such a careless mistake but I feel even worse, as I hate having to take an illegitimate win. We talk for a while before going into the next game. Game 2: As you can see from my side deck I'm somewhat overly-prepared for his type of deck. The game-winning play is me Heavy Storming my own Wild Tornado and 4 of his cards under my own Royal Decree, using Tornado to pop his Blade-Armor Ninja and attacking directly with Reaper. Round 6: Geargia Game 1: He Lonefires into his Cartaros and sets it, I proceed to Grapha stomp. Game 2: Same thing more or less, complete domination on my part. At the end of the duel he shows me 2 Imps in hand which I laugh at and proceed to go to my side deck and show him the 3 Dealings and 1 Card Destruction that I had sided out. Geargia is a joke match-up with this deck. Round 7: Wind-Ups/Garon Williams (Revenge Match from last week's regionals where I went undefeated in swiss, we also played round 7 there) Game 1: I get wound-up. Game 2: It's a grind-fest as I open Reaper and he opens only Rabbit and neither of us are really able to do anything. Eventually I start slowly pushing his face in, and we're both left with only like 4 cards total respectively. He has 1 set to my 3, we both have some monsters and like 2 in hand. He draws, thinks for a moment, and plays Heavy Storm, to which I chain two Reckless Greeds to. He says something along the lines of "oh shit" to himself, looks at his hand and contemplates his options, realizes he's unable to OTK me on the spot and shuffles his graveyard + field into his deck on the spot, realizing it's pointless to pass to me and play it out any further. Game 3: Another grindfest with him winning in more exchanges than me and me being unable to do much despite drawing fairly decently. After me almost preventing him from topping Richmond last week, he wasn't about to let the same thing happen here and made quick work of me. Was definitely one of my better match-ups of the day. I played everything extremely properly in that game but still lost. dat feel. Round 8: Chaos Dragons Game 1: This guy goes to my locals as well but I don't think I've ever played against him before. Was quite awesome to see that he had made it this far in the tournament. He gets the Pulsar Loop off but I have BLS. Game 2: I dominate with Spirit Reaper. Card is way too good. He had no hand for the majority of this duel. Round 9: This is the bubble round and my match in particular drew a lot of spectators. Game 1: I veiler his Venus, storm his 2 backrow, push his face in with Reaper and secure the win early. Game 2: Dark Smog is way too unfair against this match-up. I have Smog, 2 Graphas, and a Veiler. He has 2 Shineballs in Grave and had a Trag in Grave from last turn, which I had to Smog during the Standby Phase. He summons Earth with 3 cards in hand. I think for a minute and allow the search. He grabs Venus, banishes Earth for Hyperion. Uses its effect to destroy one of my Graphas. I allow it. He banishes the Venus in hand for another Hyperion. Uses its effect to pop my second Grapha. I realize he only has 1 card in hand and unless it's Monster Reborn I'm in a tremendous spot. I veiler the Hyperion, accepting the fact that if he goes into Heliopolis I'm still in an excellent position. He doesn't, though, opting to concede. === Your move, Providence. Thanks DGz, - Calvin Tahan
