Thing is it's not that cheap for what you got.

Can you find a better one that I don't have to assemble myself?

I would like to find a good resource for the next computer I buy.

I'll do so when you plan on purchasing - technology marches pretty fast.

Microsoft surface 2 w/ touch cover 1

Microsoft sculpt comfort mouse

just finished a 3k word essay on it, feels good. Might invest in a type cover, but I may as well get used to this.

Just picked up a Sempron 2650, a Gigabyte AM1 mobo, and 2gb of COrsair's cheapest RAM to power a 6 TB WD Green hard drive running Arch linux as a headless torrent machine and network backup for my desktop

The punchline is it's going in a Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 case

replaced-gaming-rig-that-fell-down-the-stairs

Ryzen 5 2600X

Corsair Carbide SPEC-05 case

AMD Radeon RX 570 (actually traded my old Skylake i5-6600K for it)

(survivors from the old rig: 16 GB of ram, a 500gb SSD, a 300gb 10 000 RPM disk, and a 2 tb WD Green disk, as well as my 650w seasonic PSU. still need to buy an aftermarket cooler)

I've just ordered a Samsung 49'' ultrawide CRG9. Normal RRP £1,250. Amazon had it on sale for £1,000 so i went for it.  After tax which I can get deducted, it'll end up being £800. I used on in a store a month or so ago and it was incredible but at the time I thought my desk wouldn't fit it.

I now have to sell my AW341DW. Hopefully I can get £600 or so for it.

Also bought a G29 steering wheel and a playseat xhallenge knock off and shifter.

Also Xbox one controller with wireless adapter. And Mario tennis.

i think thats my toy buying spree done for.

I MIGHT buy a  75 inch samsung Q90R this weekend. Not sure yet. My parents said they'll buy my 65inch TV off of me. But I feel like I've wasted enough money and I don't earn as much money as I did last year so i really shouldn't.

I was planning to buy an entirely new rig with a 2080ti and a 3600 but i've decided to wait for the next nvidia refresh and just upscale shit resolutions on my new monitor when it comes.

So I decided against the Samsung Q90R 75 inch and instead I will buy an LG OLED C9 65'' as I bought a 55'' to play with and return.. and its amazing.

Sadly I can't afford the 77'' one which is £6,000 here comapred to £2,400 for the 65''.

The G29 steering wheel was a waste of money sadly but at least its out of my system and I know sim racing isn't for me for now.

Did my "I am skipping the next console generation" upgrade

New monitor (24" 1080p 144hz VA panel - yeah I'm sticking with 1080p, longer term performance and I'm happy with it)

More ram: another 16 gb of the same corsair vengeance lpx 2400mhz (yeah slow ram but 32 > 16 of faster memory)

New storage: Technically this was like a month ago but I had two of my old (2010) disks failing, replaced them with a 500 gb ssd and a 2 tb 7200 rpm - brings me up to 2 tb of ssd storage and 2 tb of mechanical which is p cool)

New GPU: 5700 XT (Sapphire Pulse mode)

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wacom-intuos-pro-pen-tablet-medium-black/5708931.p?skuId=5708931

Picked that up about two weeks ago for work. Should’ve picked up a pen tablet a LONG time ago considering I’m a Graphic Designer, but better late than never lol

Barring the epidemic that forces me to work at home during the day for the moment, I bought this just because I’m able to travel to work with it as well as use it at home. And it works well on my dual monitor set up at work.

Before it, I just had a cheap near no-brand name pen display, that I barely had room on my desk for. Trying to sell that now.

I'm gonna ebay/sell:

1. G29 steering wheel + chair (I used it once)

2. Oculus Quest 128GB (I only would use it for VR porn but the sound is very open so I feel a little too unsafe using it)

3. Alienware AW3418DW monitor (never really used it after I saw an OLED in action)

4. JDS atom amp (I've decided listening to a headphones at a desk isnt for me)

If anyone's based in the UK and interested, lemme know and I will give you a good deal.

I bought my parents a 65'' inch C9 OLED.  I'm going to by myself a 77 inch LG OLED CX (£4999 YOLO, will claim back 20% business expense and give current TV to my parent's big lounge so that'll be like £1k in my mind), the THX panda headphones and then call it a day.

My MBP 2014 15'' needs its battery replacing. Ideally I want to replace it with an OLED or miniLED laptop but none are available which tick all the boxes I need. My ipad needs replacing too but honestly, its just a glorified netflix machine and I want my next netflix machine to have  a significantly better contrast ratio or I'll just stick with this one.

This COVID-19 has made me realise life is too short. no point holding onto money within reason. Given I won't be able to travel now for a long time, I'm just going to buy wtf I want within reason.

I can't date, can't drink, can't go out, can't even hit the gym. Life just sucks.
