"This is the difference between MC’ing and rap. Rappers spit rhymes that are mostly illegal, MC’s spit rhymes to uplift they people.
Peace, love, unity, and havin’ fun, these are the lyrics of KRS One."
- KRS One (Kanye West - Classic)

"Timeless, cause age don’t count in the booth and your flow stays submerged in the fountain of youth."

Lil Wayne is a huge waste of talent and potential. Pre-Drake/prison he had some brilliant stuff.

It always annoys me when people who don't really listen to rap are like "hurr durr lil wayne worst rapper ever." For awhile he was the best mainstream rapper (in a brief era where rap was pretty bad). He just never really seemed care enough to perfect any of his work, which was sometimes a good thing sometimes a bad thing.

Dr. Carter is a brilliant song
tha carter, dedication, dedication 2, and the prefix are his best, and at carter 2 and drought 3 you can see him start to slip into laziness.

its hard to find a lot of his stuff from dedication and prefix transcribed on the internet, but i agree, it is brilliant.

these are just from the intro track to the first dedication:

"yeah I know that water get cold but I dive in it bare
and swim through it alive and aware
I been through it
You probably never been to it
So now I dip through it
and they respect me like a pistol, I'm hip to it
I gets to it like just do it, I miss doin it
A hundred shot drum, play 'em some clip music
I am the drum major
The drum section waitin'
All it takes is one signal, you can get a cadence"

"like since when they make bullet proof skin?
I put it to ya chin, and grin, and sin, and theeeeen...
I, sin again then I'm gone in the wind
And I'm dumping my Scarlett O'Hara in the canal
Cuz I'm not getting stopped wit cop paraphernail' "

"I was prescribing medicine, you was getting ya lesson in
I was getting my adolescent in
Lesser than God only
better than my last, that's what strive for
Dwelling on my past, I get high so I light it up and smoke
I keep that Mary Poppins popping like a toaster
I'm supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Can't forget that purple potion, oh shit"
good post

I don't know how someone who claims to like hip-hop can hear a song like Go DJ and say they don't like it

if you haven't heard his mixtape the prefix you've got to get it man. its the prefix to the carter btw. uses mostly if not all jay-z beats. early on he was really on hov's jock and his lyricism reflected that a little more. as he gained his own following and cult of personality he got lazy as fuck. seriously one of the worst rappers right now.

moment of clarity:
"we ball like we was born in sudan
call me the saddam of the army that i stand in
i'm armed with the cannon
i kill a nigga then i woosah
i gotta chill and fall back
i smack a young bitch with a million in stacks
i got a building in the back of my pocket
so i don't sit down i just keep on grindin
i steve atwater tackle my assignment
plus, you niggas is a minus, honest
i be young carter, glock in the spine
you should not even try, you will not leave alive
and his homeboys will not even ride
they get a few t-shirts and put him in a rhyme"

also i think its on the where i'm from beat that he gradually spells out "H-O-L-L-Y-G-R-O-V-E" in the first verse. awesome stuff really.

oh biggie give me one more chance

"nigga you aint gotta explain shit
i been robbin muthafuckas since the slave ships
with the same clip and the same four five
two point blank, a muthafucka's sure to die
that's my word, nigga even try to bogart
have his mother singin 'it's so haaaaaard'"

"When my mind start to clickin, and the strategy
is mapped the plot thickens, this be that Wu shit
I don't give a cotten-pickin FUCK
about a brother tryin to size a nigga up, I hold my own
Hard-hat protect your dome
Look at mama baby boy actin like he grown
No time for sleep, I gets deep as a baritone
Killa bee, that be holdin down his honeycomb, loungin son"
Wu brother number one, protect your neck
Flying guillotines here they come, bloody bastards
Hard times and killer tactics, spittin words plus
semi-automatic slurs, peep the graphic
novel from the genie bottle, hit the clutch
shift the gear now, full throttle, time to bungee
To the next episode, I keeps it grungy
Hand on my nutsac, and spittin lung-ghies
At a wack nigga dat, don't understand the fact
When it come to RZA tra-cks I don't know how to act
Real rap from the Stat, killa hill projects
How to be exact, break it down
All and together now
Things are getting good looking better now"

-Method Man - Shadowboxin (by GZA)

his flow on this track is fucking sick

I wish I could move but I'm closed in
My heart getting old in a young man
I've given up on every other man
Positive is of the plans
The human show me suffering
It's most wanted in communities:
Taxes and water is adored like
Oil when it's poured in the ocean
By mistakes of machines
Cause we're lazy human beings
Discreditin' our genes
We're very smart nonetheless
But enslave our own selves
As color is division
Who made up these visions?
Wanna slap him for his actions
My heart burn with passion

My heart's burning

Please let me see the road cleared
The weed smoke is very clear
Evident: my rap lyrics, heaven-sent
Underground legend to a small few
Mainstream to most ones
Close run, Uh, root for me
Like I haven't won none
Scream like it's no lungs
And take it loud
I'm talking loud
Don't nobody hear me?
Don't nobody care?
I seem to stare at walls
My eyes red, devilicious. Eyed 'em?
The people made me into a monster
My heart getting darker
Ridiculed for what?
Because I'm looking at you awkward?
I'm saying what I feel, bitch
And I'm moving forward
I'm at the point where I idolize lawyers
People's liars
Undercover with suppliers
Tryin' to buy 'er
Always purchased
Filled my pain at the surface
Staying all night like a nurse is
This studio, I cursed it

I lost my mind
Check me, I lost my mind

You made me two faced
Your burned my face
To live on earth with people is beautiful
Underneath, it's horrible
I'm bleeding for this rap game
Similar to crack 'caine
I sold nothin'; focused
Riding round town to the lonesome
Scrooge McDuck, backseat phantom
With a bad attitude:
Fuck the world
I think I'm burning

I'm tryin' to right my wrongs
But its funny, them same wrongs helped me write this song

- Kanye West

Bad bitches with ascots
Use a house as a stash spot
Lexus coupe with the rag top
I'm in the loop, boy I'm tied like an ascot

"Part of my pain is run through problems
Stoppable I jump over obstacles
Stop my grind like stop sunshine, so improbable
Probable mission impossible
I said it two times nigga, nigga stop lying
Bullshit you selling now I'm just not buying
Flow so nice but the kid's not kind
Swear its sicker than a new flu they got called swine
Standing on point like a unicorn
Strapped with a unibomb
Everdays a workday but dont wear uniform
Gucci Mane a dapper don
Trouble like a capricorn
Trapper month goin on a money makin marathon
You the jocker I be robin
And the riddle is the batmans throne
Try not to fuck my money up and rap career like pacman jones
Thumb print me, finger print me
But can we agree to disagree
Im from east atlanta 6 where the boys dump bricks
But we dont bump the blueprint 3
Wanna box me jus like max speed
But you can't fuck me like Raz-B
Like ali ima float like a butterfly sting like a bee cuz its big gucci, gucci

Streets de-railed me
But god didn't fail me
Oppurtunity knocked but it just emailed me
D.A nailed me, watch them jail me
Take it like a champ while the whole world mail me
Young dont like me, jay outselles me
Nothing in the world kanye couldn't tell me
You can beat anyone but gucci
Jaw so hard I can hardly do me
Cuz whatever that I heard use to let that
Bet if you had the chance to you'd mute me
Convicted felon my lil friends jailin
My stash here you go and my bones done swellin
Crazy so I need prozac really
My home kept skep n my folks so eary
So hardworkin that my bones still reary
Fall in the club then the hoes start cheerin
So hear me, hear me, I know yall hear me
I dont like life to much not really
High like britney, stoned like jimmy
Got a second chance like vick in philly
This ain't snap music, this is trap music
New boyz in cali yea they got a jerk movement

I'm so gifted at findin' what I don't like the most
So I think it's time for us to have a toast

Let's have a toast for the douchebags,
Let's have a toast for the assholes,
Let's have a toast for the scumbags,
Every one of them that I know
Let's have a toast to the jerkoffs
That'll never take work off
Baby, I got a plan
Run away fast as you can

She find pictures in my email
I sent this girl a picture of my dick.
I don't know what it is with females
But I'm not too good with that shit.
See, I could have me a good girl
And still be addicted to them hoodrats
And I just blame everything on you
At least you know that's what I'm good atKanye West - The Morning I treat the label like money from my shows
G. o.o.D. would’ve been God except I added more o’s
If I knew she was cheatin’ I’d still’ve bought her more clothes
‘Cause I was too busy with my Baltimore- you know
Some people call that the art of war you know
I guess it depends what you fallin’ for
The clothes, cars, money, girls and the clothes
Aw money, you sold your soulNah man, mad people was frontin’God damn, we made something from nothingKanye West - TherafluCan’t a young nigga get money anymore?
Tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor
Can I have a bad bitch wit’out no flaws
Come to meet me wit’out no drawers?
Dinner with Anna Wintour, racin’ wit’ Anja Rubik
I told you ma’fuckers it was more than the music
In the projects one day to Project Runway
We done heard all that loud-ass talkin’, we used to it
I’m from where shorties fucked up, double-cupped up
Might even kill somebody and YouTube it
So whoever think they words affect me is too stupid
And if you could do it better than me, then you do it
We flyer than the parakeet, floatin’ wit’ no parachute
Six thousand-dollar pair of shoes, we made it to the Paris news!

A 40 ounce to chase it, that’s just an understatement
I’m early to the party but my ‘Rari is the latest
Somehow it seems girls in they late teens
Remind me your favorite jeans cause they naked cause you famous
Life’s a motherfucker ain’t it? These other rappers aimless
So tell me what your name is I’mma tell it to my stainless

love

by the same token

Start selling weed for my brother, the Acres 11
Dirty out for 100 dollars, he working the shipment
7 grade, Christmas time, mama gave me a 50
I spent that 50 with the dope man, he gave me 2 50’s
I owed a 50 but I tried to not pay him so quickly
I had them down so big, jackers calling to Biggie
I moved out, paying rent with such a good feeling
I hit a lick, 30 grand fell out of the ceiling
I'm in Savannah and my nigga like king of the city
In Alabama with them hammers, they plottin to get me
These suckers tried to take my life on a couple occasions
We grind hard, 30 years – never took a vacation
And ever since 17 been stuck on probation
I chased a nigga, stabbed his ass, now they callin me Jason
I fell out with my homeboy, I swear it was crazy
And we don’t really know each other but having a baby
I traveled all around the world, been plenty of places
I’m Gucci trash bag cash, got plenty of faces
In Sun Valley trappin hard like back in the 80’s
I leave for 8 and spend a least 30 grand in the station
I lost my nigga Duncan, no one will ever replace him
In Gucci eyes he will always be one of the greatest
