New Fate/Stay Night Anime Adapt

meh, the show is following the same 'no one important ever dies' formula as f/z. everyone is saved by bullshit surprise appearances and happenings. just finished ep 8.

All kinds of people died in F/Z... I mean, sure some of them died at the end, but they still died.

that's not the point. there are countless situations in the first 8 episodes where people should've died, but either someone backs off for silly reasons, or a girl screams right before someone is about to be slain, or characters come out of nowhere to save other characters. emiya should be dead. i understand he's the main character, and his father was the main character, and we need to see more of their interactions, but the script goes about accomplishing those ends in a completely asinine way. hell, even my gf, who doesn't even watch that much anime, was thrilled with this show at the beginning, but groaned after episode 8 and said "why isn't anyone dead yet." now keep in mind, i'm still going to finish this season and watch the next, but after madoka and f/z having critical writing issues, i'm not holding much hope for this one, penned by the same person (afaik).

i think my issue is the surprises and plot twists in this story, and by connection f/z don't come across as organic at all to me. i have a feeling i'm going to be pretty mad when the amulet thing gets resolved, and it's just going to be another "oh of course it is" moments.

Urobuchi isn't connected with F/SN. He was only with F/Z cause he wrote the light novels.

Yea the script for fs/n is terrible because it was adapted from an erotic choose your own adventure game written by a japanese high school kid. Expecting this to be well written is kind of silly. I don't blame you at all for bringing up the numerous issues with the show's writing because honestly only weebs actually know all that shit about Nasu and the vn.

Also Urobutchi is a fucking terrible writer that has somehow gained favor with the right people because companies churn out something he's attached to at least once a season.

Can I necrobump threads here?

The new episode had EMIYA playing in the last few seconds. This adaption is saved.

so i just started watching this yesterday despite hating f/z, and so far i think it's much better than it's predecessor. but i'm not here to talk about much, just a detail i'm confused about.
i just finished ep 5, so if my question gets answered in a later episode just let me know. in episode 0/1 when rin heals emiya with the amulet, archer brings it back to her and she says something a long the lines of "oh, you went back for it" and then she questions whether or not lancer will return to finish the job when his master finds out emiya isn't dead, then they depart. now, at this point the timeline seems to be in complete alignment with the present, yet when emiya wakes up in the hall way, he takes the amulet off the ground with him, and stashes it away in his home drawer later on. didn't archer already take the amulet?
[spoile r]There are 2 amulets, as far as I'm aware
Gojira wrong as always

The quality of this emiya remix is questionable but the fact we get emiya at all is enough to turn me grateful. That track's become synonymous with epic moments in the porn game. Makes me shiver uncontrollably.

I was right?

There were 2 amulets, one was present, one was future.
