Politigroundz Rules & Information

Recommended Posts

»ACP    33421

Purpose: To allow members to discuss politics in their preferred environment without upsetting other members who do not want to be subjected to political discussions.

General Information: By default, the only members who can see the politics subforums are Administrators and Necro Moderoids. If you would like to view either of these forums, you must "opt in" using the opt in/opt out thread. You can then opt out at anytime if you change your mind.

General Rules:

1. Any political discussion outside of these forums is absolutely not allowed. This includes General Groundz, Crazy Spam Kingdom, and any of our discord channels. Quoting (or copy/pasting) politics posts outside of politics is also not allowed. We might give you a warning for the first offense, but more than likely you will be looking at a short site-wide suspension.

2. Harassing members about their political opinions in our other forums, PM, or DGz's discord server is forbidden. You will be given a suspension, with length varying based on the severity of the harassment.

3. Any threats of violence, assault, hate crimes, etc. directed at any individuals or groups (whether or not they are on DGz) is not allowed. As soon as we see this, the most likely outcome is a permaban.

Civil Discourse Specific Rules:

1. No discussing the legitimacy of any religions. Debating the role of religion in legislation is fine. Accusing Muslims of being Satan worshipers is not.

2. No personal attacks of any kind. Example: What do you know about [issue]? You voted for [candidate] lol! If you aren't capable of doing this, don't opt in. Personal attacks directed at any politicians/political parties (without supporting evidence) are also not ok. Examples: Donald Trump is the next Hitler, Obama is the anti-Christ, Republicans hate poor people.

3. No blatant racism, sexism, etc. If you want to discuss crime and race statistics, that's fine. If you want to debate affirmative action or the wage gap, that's fine. Saying that most black people are thugs, etc. is not. Saying that white men are evil is also not ok.

4. Posting with the intent of getting an emotional reaction out of people or baiting others into personal attacks is not allowed. Here's a perfect example: http://duelistgroundz.com/index.php?/topic/168613-german-leftist-gets-raped-by-refugees-then-lies-to-the-police/

5. When debating with other members, your arguments should be backed by facts. Consistently making unfounded assertions will lead to losing your Civil Discourse privileges. Common knowledge (ie "George Washington was the first US president") can be stated without evidence, but saying that "61% of America is conservative" is an unfounded assertion until you post a link to the survey or study that shows it to be true.

Failure to follow any of the above rules can result in losing your posting privileges in Civil Discourse, either temporarily or permanently.

Hopefully this gives you enough information to determine which forums you want to opt in to (if any). Any further questions about the new forums can be asked below.

I normally check on threads through "Content I Posted In" but anything from unchained doesn't appear. Is there a way to fix that on my end?

Edit: Same for Pol CD

It also doesn't come up in "Unread Content", so I'd guess it's because of the opt-in thing. I can't remember if ToGTFO was the same, though.

It probably has something to do with the fact that you need to be in a special usergroup to view posts in the forum. I'd suspect that posts in the Loyalist forum would behave similarly. Tits was different because it was password based rather than usergroup based.

I still think it's hilarious/sad that people got upset that they were taken away.

It's not about the porn, it's about the tradition.

For Civil Discourse, some rules have been clarified/added. See below:

I would also make some sort of clarification on how accurate or unbiased those sources should be.

Nah I think if someone is going to try to make an assertion and the best they have to back it up is HuffPo/Fox News that should speak for itself

Those ones are fine but this is something along the lines of Winter's infinite poll posts.

HuffPo/Fox News are potentially fine if they explain where their facts and numbers are coming from.

Like if you link to some infowars article about how Obama and Hillary are demons because they smell like sulfur that obviously isn't a legitimate argument for anything. If people can't use their brain here and they'll just get removed from Civil Discourse.

Note the change. No more politics on discord. If you want to talk politics, you do it here only.
