Matrix 6 Star Trek Mafia Day 4 - Wrath of Jazz

552 posts in this topic

Rules:
- 36h day phases, 12h night phases. I liked running this in my previous game and I want to experiment a bit more with it.
- Quota is 4 posts every day phase. First time you don't meet it you get an infraction, second time is a modkill.

Full Claiming is allowed. The obvious restriction is no screenshots of your role PM and the like.
- Absolutely NO editing
- No discussion of the game outside of this thread, barring QTs and PMs to me.

- Spirit of the Game Clause: Please don't ruin the game to gain an advantage. Please don't intentionally modkill yourself or other stupid stuff.

- Similarily, please don't monitor account activity

Set-Up:

  A B C
1 Town Jailkeeper Vanilla Townie Mafia Goon
2 Mafia Roleblocker Town Cop Town Doctor
3 1-shot Bulletproof Townie Mafia Goon Town Tracker

I have randomly selected a row or a column from this table. The roles in that row/column are in the game, along with 5 vanilla town and a mafia goon.

The following roles (with flavor) could be in the game.

Redshirt (Vanilla Town)

Yikes! You're a Redshirt. Don't expact to last long.

You have no special powers.

You're aligned with the Federation, and win when all opposition is eliminated.

Lieutenant Worf (Jailkeeper)

You're the Klingon Star Fleet Officer Worf. Every Night phase, you can do things the Klingon way: overpower another player so they cannot target anyone or be targeted.

You're aligned with the Federation, and win when all opposition is eliminated.

Counselor Deanna Troi (Cop)

You're Deanna Troi, Half-Betazoid empath. Every Night Phase, you can read someone's mind to find out their alignment.

You're aligned with the Federation, and win when all opposition is eliminated.

Dr. Leonard "Bones" Mccoy (Doctor)

"Damn it Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a Jailkeeper!" You're "Bones" Mccoy, Chief Medical Officer. Every Night, you can target one player to protect them from the Night Kill.

You're aligned with the Federation, and win when all opposition is eliminated.

Captain James T. Kirk (1-shot Bulletproof)

You're the legendary James Tiberius Kirk. You've saved the Federation numerous times against impossible odds. Thanks to Plot Armor, you survive the first time you are Night Killed.

You're aligned with the Federation, and win when all opposition is eliminated.

Dr. Spock (Tracker)

Live Long and Prosper, Dr. Spock. Using your Vulcan Logic, you can logically deduce the whereabouts of one other player every night.

You're aligned with the Federation, and win when all opposition is eliminated.

Mafia Goon

Mafia Roleblocker

Additional info:

Mafia must declare who perfoms the NK.

The Mafia Roleblocker can use their power and perform the NK in the same night.

If there's a conflict between Mafia Roleblocker and Jailkeeper: Roleblocker resolves first.

Players:

1. Tyranno

2. Jazz (Lynched D2 - Romulan Infiltrant)

3. Faint (Killed N1 - Dr. Beverly Crusher)

4. Wunterslaus

5. Frogman

6. Nelrick

7. Malcolm

8. PSK (Killed N2 Redshirt)

9. Kahu (Lynched D1 - Redshirt)

"Space, the final frontier.

These are the voyages of the Starship Duelistgroundz. Its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new users and new memes, to boldly post where no one has posted before..."

Captain Sophocles' Log, star date 130317. We're fast approaching the P0.J0 system in the Yuugiió sector, in response to a strange distress call we picked up along the quantum bandwave. The message was coded into the subwave matrix of a polarised tachyon wave, and even our best linguists couldn't make sense of it. Without a doubt, we are about to approach a new intelligent userbase. We will send a small team to investigate.

"Commander Frogman, select an away team to inspect to surface."

"Aye aye captain. How do we approach any contact down there?"

"Prioritise your safety, but set phasers to stun."

A deep, masculine voice sounds over the comms system. "Captain?"

"Yes, Mr. JC?"

"I'm detecting a Maxwellian disturbance in the atmosphere. I am not sure if we can accurately beam the away team to the surface."

Ensign Kahu raises his hand. "I ended top of my class in Piloting at the academy, sir. I can take us down to the surface in a shuttle craft."

What do you do?

- Take the risk and beam to the surface.

- Use a shuttle which will take several hours.

You can all vote on what course of action to take. It only has an impact on the flavor I post, nothing else.

Day one begins now and ends 35h49m from this post.

i am glad that has no effect on the course of the game/i don't need to carefully read flavour. i think i have a serious issue of not being able to read posts longer than 10 lines.

you don't need to vote on the flavor text 'cause i'm not going to count it religiously, just say what you want and i'll try to remember it

No takebacks and unvoting on that though!

Where is everyone? This is a boring start to D1 but I suppose no action is good action when you're a red shirt.

Well anyhow PSK I reckon I'm going to go review old games and see if you differ on your intro posts depending on being scum or town because I have nothing better to do.

Well, I'm going to go eat supper and hope thread sees a little more activity in the mean time. I think PSK is our best weak lynch choice for now until someone scummier comes along + I don't like quota floaters anyhow but I'll hold off till later because I'd like to go after a less easy target because PSK could turn out to just be dumbass town who thinks he has better things to do than play.

So does this mean the old low hanging fruit argument no long holds true? Have I graduated to a semi-decent player?

It's cool if I die though. Remember a red shirt always dies at some point but the crew of the Enterprise never fails!
