Yu-Gi-Oh! Playground format

 

This format is for those who have fond time of dueling during recess in elementary/middle school.

 

Custom Rules:

 

Regarding rarity, there will be a limit on how many foil cards can be in a deck. Holos from packs and promo do not share limits. They will have their own limits.

 

Rare and common card are not limited, a player can have a unlimited number of these type of rarity in their deck.

 

Player can only have one secret rare that can only be pulled from pack in their deck.

Ultra rare: 2 cards in deck

Super Rare: 3 cards in deck.

 

In regarding to reprint. If a higher-rarity card is reprinted as lower rarity, the limit is reduced. Lower rarity reprint will be prioritized over original higher-rarity. I.E Red Eyes Black Dragon was originally an Ultra rare. But it was reprinted as a common, so therefore REBD will not count toward rarity limit.

 

Promo cards from collector tin do not share foil limit from pack. They will have their own limit. Each player can only use one promo card from each collector's tin series. I.E one player will have to choose from Total Defense Shogun, Blade Knight, Command Knight, Swift Gaia, Insect Queen, and Obnoxious Celtic Guard. Then pick one card from Gilford, Exarion, Vorse, DMG, Rocket Warrior, and Panther Warrior

 

Promos from special edition will share the same type of limit as collector tin.

 

One card from McDonald promo can only be picked

 

Player can only pick one starter deck from each series. I.E, they will have to pick either Yugi or Kabia

 

Deck-building will be explained later on

Every limited card are considered power card. However, MST, Marauding captain, Dark Scorpion- Chick the Yellow, and Upstart Goblin do not count as power card. There will be a Power Card list

For deck-building, you must follow a theme or an archetype. You can't have cards that aren't related to the theme/archetype you are thinking of using. For example, lets say I want to make a warrior beat down deck. I only can use warrior-type monster, or any monsters that supports warrior. In addition, I cannot use spell doesn't match the nature of the deck such as wave-motion cannon as it is a burn card. Same applies for trap. You can use generic spell/trap such as MST, dark hole, call of haunted in any deck. You need to have at least one card that could be considered as a “boss” monster.

 

If anyone have any questions or recommendation, let me know. This is an extremely rough draft.

I'll do some more fixing. But CeD is legal in middle school due to it being a SE promo but illegal in elementary.
