Top 10 Movies

Recommended Posts

emblem    1211

I made a list a while ago, I've revamped it with my now favorite films. There is no order whatsoever, just these 10 are currently my favorites with Oldboy, Triangle, and Timecrimes following close behind. This may be worse than my old list...

Primer - It requires you to think and piece the information together like a puzzle, was thoroughly enjoyable to try and solve.
The Raid: Redemption - A breath of fresh air, it sets out to be an action film instead of concerning itself with more story or character development, and it was a perfect one. I also enjoy the twist ending theory about Andi.
11:14 - Everything fits, everything is beautiful. Instant classic.
The Big Lebowski - This might just be my favorite film. It does everything right story-wise, it has god knows how many hidden messages attached to it, it has more you can make on your own, and it just is downright hilarious.
Fargo - Perfect story
Pulp Fiction - It never takes itself too seriously and it delivers quotes upon quotes, much like Lebowski.
Seven Psychopaths - Christopher Walken's revised story and the graveyard scene turned this film into a top 10 film for me. Way better than In Bruges IMO.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - The rewatch factor has been amazing for me. I understand it is kind of average to some people, but I really just never grow tired of this film.
Army of Darkness - My favorite of the Evil Dead series, which I considered the best trilogy of all time.
Evil - My all-time favorite foreign film, another beautiful story.

once upon a time in america

love exposure

suspiria

the double life of véronique

this list feels like a vignette from a metamorphosis

from a love of schlocky shock-value cinema

i actually thought basterds was better than django on memory, i'd have to watch basterds again. i found django 40 minutes too long, he should've never been captured. the scene was way too cartoony and unlimited ammo cheat codey to realistically end there.

Top Ten of the Decade (so far):

1. the Tree of Life Malick

2. A Separation Farhadi

3. the Great Beauty Sorrentino

4. the Master Anderson

5. Spring Breakers Korine
