Howl’s Moving Castle is good. Again, one of only a few Ghibli I’ve seen.

no, it isn't good at all. probably miyazaki's worst

I thought it was incredibly charming.

Currently on episode 26 of HxH and enjoying it thoroughly. The music is great.

having not watcehd it yet I tend to hear about Howls is its on the weaker half of miyazaki but still a good film because the weaker half of miyazaki outside of a couple genuine bombs is still quality content.

Agreed. Amazing at building up those stressful or high tension moments.

HxH is good. I haven't watched it in a year or so but if they start up another season I may have to rewatch.

I've been on a bit of a rewatch-a-thon. Finished Arifuta: From Common place to worlds strongest and just started my rewatch of Overlord.

Finally got around to seeing In this Corner of the World. What a film. I think it's easily one of the best animated features of the last decade. Sometimes it feels as if you're being pulled into Suzu's world, until reality yanks you back out. The sequence between Suzu and Harumi is heartbreaking, memorable, and unique. Katabuchi just shows his masterful hand in this. Gotta check out his other two films after this.

Konosuba movie was good; wish it had more of the kazumin scenes from the book (just the bedroom scenes were more drawn out lol)

definition of a catchup season haha

Every season feels like that. But yeah Winter and Spring 2020 look especially weak.

I think Sing Yesterday for Me/Yesterday wo Utatte has a lot of promise. Very solid first two eps.

Tower of God, Kaguya S2, and Gleipnir

Kaguya S2 just doesn't hit the same. May have been lightning in a bottle.

I feel like Tower of God tries to be interesting, but the art is so stiff and the plot is so predictable that it just isn't

Gleipnir has wholeheartedly delivered and saved the season for me.

Gonna co-sign this. Only thing I hate that one of the female leads is just so goddamn overly optimistic that it almost destroys any suspension of disbelief.

This season looks infinitely better than the last two fwiw.

Sing Yesterday for Me seems like it could be a really special coming of age story the likes of which we have not seen for a long time. The melancholic tone/atmosphere that always seems to loom in the background makes me believe this isn’t going to devolve into something awful.

Tower of God - It kind of reminds me of Attack on Titan in a lot of ways (at least when AoT was good). I’’m willing to go along for the ride to see if/where this goes. Could stay boring shounen or run the path of Evangelion with levels of mindfuck. Not sure what the airtime is so I can’t definitively rule the latter out.

Gleipnir - Clair is best girl 2020. But on the real, this has some Future Diary vibes to it. Quality is good and maintained right now, but I do wonder if this can deliver above expectations going forward. Either way, its the show I am most enjoying watching rn. No excuse for this show not to go as dark as humanely possible given its air time.
