Going back to back in modern sports is next to impossible.

Playoff predictions before trade deadline is dumb, no one's even injured yet.

Heatley could score 60 this year though.

Most definitely, the big things in ottawa this year (I read the sun and citizen everyday at work lol) is Alfreddson is god, and Heatley is going to take a 'bigger' role, especially on the ice (in different situations than he normally would.) He's gonna be nabbing some crazy ice-time and he's always dangerous so I wouldn't doubt it. (Although if alfy/spezza gets injured...)

No one might be injured, but Detroit is so deep it's retarded.

Puzzled as to why you chose Sedin over Demitra, Stillman over Horton, Arnott over Sullivan, Kane over Toews, Bergie over Savard, Gagne over Briere, Sakic over Stastny? Those were just a few that I saw... Im not in full knowledge of how it works, but it looks like a bad pool imo :O

-it is a bad pool.

-kane is money.

-bergeron will get more icetime.

-Gagne lol

-STATSNY OVER SAKIC?!

-Arnott/Sullivan was a toughy.

-Demitra is on the canucks lol?

-Stillman had 60+ points last year and wasn't on the first line of either team.

-bad pool is bad.

Sakic is old and playing for a team that fucking sucks.

Ottawa needs secondary scoring more than D imo; that way they can just constant-barrage to victory

Toronto has changed their style of play for the better; expect them to finish tenth again to fuck over their draft picks; though if they play like that really well, then they could fluke into the playoffs; coaching has helped this team a lot; and the style of play suits their decent D coupled with shit offense.

Detroit looked sloppy as fuck game one, scoring flukey goals;

Then again flukey goals are how detroit wins.

CRASH TEH NET !!!!1 [but srsly its good positional hockey dont mess] - have you ever seen holmstrum score from more than 5 feet away?

lol @ Toronto beating the number one team and Vancouver scoring 6 goals.

The Van/Cal game was just an awesome example of what momentum can do for a team. Reghyr (their number one stay at home d) was out with personal problems and the flames just did not look ready to play (especially the young defense.) Vancouver had time to mourn the loss of Luc Bourdon, and used the momentum of his memory, plus a very rowdy crown at GM place to topple the shit out of Calgary. A few earlier goals just deflated any confidence the back end had and it was more of a game of scoring totals than anything after that.

canucks played great yesterday. however, pyatt like blows. he had that one assist that 'one time' he used his size to dominate another player. =\

if the canucks can use that 9m or whatever in cap space effectively, things could be promising in canuck land

Dont mean to be a douche but how does winning one game automatically forsee postseason?

I mean Toronto put on a better show vs Detroit and they aren't making the playoffs

habs and sabres was actually a good game. toronto played against a detroit team that had like a turnover per minute. either way, sabres dont have the 'zomg drury and briere are gone' cloud distracting them as miller has taken over the team. add that to their solid 2nd half last season and a more well-rounded defense, i think theyre a lock for the playoffs.

The only "playoff locks" are Philly, Washington, Montreal, NYR and possibly Pitt in the east, Det, SJ, Dal and maybe Anaheim in the West.

Honestly, I think Boston is a better team then Buffalo, making Buffalo the 4th best in their division. That makes it pretty difficult to make the playoffs, as they HAVE to finish ahead of Boston to do so.
