I started learning VB at school this year. Seems easy o.o

I mean this with the sincerest respect; pick up a book and start learning another language concurrently as fast as you can!

VB develops shit coders with no discernable skillsets whatsoever. It's also been functionally unsupported for half a decade.

HTML and XHTML easy, I'm very good at java. My CSS is weak though.

What's the difference between PHP and JavaScript?

the world

they're pretty substantially different languages in terms of power, how they're processed, server requirements, and syntax

Are they both scripting languages? They're both web based, right?

PHP is a very fully functional language in a similar vein to perl; javascript is a weak ass collection of scripting terms with very little actual power unless its augmented by other platforms

What would I need to know JavaScript for in the first place then? I might aswell just skip and start leaning PHP.

a lot of people learn Javascript anyway because it's pretty easy to incorporate in web pages, especially commercial sites.

If you're looking for web based, http://www.w3schools.com has everything you'll ever need. Great tutorials, good reference sheets for terms, attributes, element names and such. And it has all of the main web coding languages used right now.

For web coding, operating system doesn't matter (afaik know, which is only basic stuff tbh). HTML > CSS > JavaScript/PHP > then depends what you want to do.

I'm only proficient up to CSS myself. But that will get you to a point where you can make a good basic site that doesn't look terrible.

@ rei, what do I need to know to implement a database in my site?
