Starting off the duel Cheung activates Upstart Goblin, having Peters gain 1000 life to draw 1 card from his deck. Next, he activates Trade-In discarding Malefic Stardust Dragon to draw 2 more cards from his deck. He then discards 1 copy of Gravekeeper's Commandant to add 1 copy of Necrovalley from his deck to his hand. He sets a card to his field spell zone; destroying his set Geartown, he sets another field spell. Activating the effect of his destroyed Geartown, Cheung Special Summoning 1 copy of Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon from his deck. He flips his set copy of Necrovalley and sets 2 cards to his backrow before ending his turn.

Peters draws, sets 1 card to his backrow and ends.

Cheung swings with Gadjiltron Dragon. Peters takes 3000 damage and Special Summons Tragoedia to his side of the field in defense position. In Main Phase 2, Cheung activates Pot of Duality revealing 2 copies of Beast King Barbaros and 1 copy of Upstart Goblin. After some consideration, Cheung adds 1 copy of Beast King Barbaros to his hand, returning the other 2 cards to his deck. Next, he activates Trade-In discarding his newly added Beast King Barbaros to draw 2 more cards. Finally, he sets 2 cards to his backrow and ends.

In Main Phase 2, Peters sets 1 monster and 3 cards face-down before ending.

Peters draws, after some consideration he Normal Summons Lonefire Blossom. He decides to retain priority by tributing Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon a copy of Spore from his deck in defense position. Peters tunes his level 1 Spore and his level 4 Reborn Tengu to Synchro Summon the Ally of Justice Catastor! Cheung responds with Solemn Judgment, paying half of his lifepoints to negate the summon of Catastor. Peters Special Summons his last copy of Reborn Tengu from his deck in defense position. Peters flips his face-down Mystical Space Typhoon targetting Cheung's Necrovalley. Cheung responds by activating Dark Bribe. Peters passes without a further move.

Peters activates Dark Hole, destroying Cheung's Gadjiltron Dragon. Next Peters Normal Summons Tour Guide From the Underworld activating its effect to Special Summon a copy of Sangan from his deck in attack position. Peters attacks Cheung for a total 2000 life points with both of his monsters and ends his turn.

Cheung draws to 4 cards in hand. Peters activates Trap Dustshoot during Cheung's Standby Phase taking careful consideration on what to return to his deck. After thinking for a while, Peters decides to return Beast King Barbaros to Cheung's deck. Cheung banishes a copy of Stardust Dragon from his Extra Deck to Special Summon Malefic Stardust Dragon in Attack Position! Peters has no response as Cheung moves into his battle phase, declaring an attack on Peters' Tour Guide with his Dragon, inflicting 1500 damage to Peters. Cheung ends his turn without a further move to make.

Peters draws and flips Enemy Controller tributing Sangan targetting Cheung's Malefic Stardust Dragon! Cheung has no choice but to negate Peters' Enemy Controller with Dark Bribe forcing Peters to draw a card before searching Dandylion by Sangan's effect. Peters activates One for One: discarding Dandylion; Special Summoning Glow-Up Bulb from his deck in Defense Postion. Dandylion's effect gave Peters 2 Fluff Tokens in defense position. Peters thinks for a moment and asks Cheung if he had Normal Summoned yet or not. Peters Normal Summons Tour Guide from the Underworld and activates the effect to special summon another copy from his deck in Attack Postion. Peters tunes his Level 1 Glow-Up Bulb and Level 1 Fluff Token to Synchro Summon Formula Synchron, drawing a card from his deck. Peters next tunes his Level 2 Formula Synchron, Level 3 Tour Guide from the Underworld and Level 1 Fluff Token to Synchro Summon Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary! He activates the effect of Brionac discarding 1 card targetting Cheung's Necrovalley. Cheung scoops and begins siding for game 2.

After a long back and forth duel, a late appearence from Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary secures the win for Peters! Will Cheung be able to overcome the power of Synchro Summons with his Malefics in game 2?

Starting off Game 2, Cheung draws for his turn and immediately activates Trade-In discarding Beast King Barbaros to draw 2 cards. Cheung follows this up by activating Upstart Goblin, giving Peters 1000 life to draw 1 card from his deck. Next, Cheung activates Terraforming, searching his deck for a copy of Necrovalley; activating it. Cheung then banishes a copy of Cyber End Dragon from his Extra Deck to Special Summon Malefic Cyber End Dragon, setting 2 cards and activates Royal Tribute! Cheung reveals his hand of Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon, discarding it to the Graveyard. Peters reveals his hand of Lonefire Blossom, Glow-Up Bulb, Gorz Emissary of Darkness, Mystical Space Typhoon and One for One discarding all monsters to the Graveyard.

Peters draws and sets 2 cards to his backrow before ending his turn.
Cheung draws Upstart Goblin and activates it, giving Peters 1000 more lifepoints to draw another card. Cheung attacks Peters directly with his Dragon; on attack declaration Peters activates Mystical Space Typhoon targetting Cheung's Necrovalley! Cheung quickly chains Skill Drain, paying 1000 life points to save his Malefic Cyber End Dragon. Peters takes a direct hit for 4000 points of damage. Cheung ends his turn without any further moves to make.

Peters draws and activates Glow-Up Bulb's effect, sending 1 card from the top of the deck to the graveyard, Special Summoning it in defense position. Peters responds to the summoning of his own monster with Torrential Tribute! Cheung activates his face-down Dark Bribe, negating the activation of Torrential Tribute, allowing Peters to draw another card. Peters sets a card and ends his turn without further moves.

Cheung draws, and attacks Peters' Bulb with Malefic Cyber End Dragon before setting 1 card and ending his turn.

Cheung draws and Normal Summons Beast King Barbaros! He enters his battle phase and attacks Peters directly with Malefic Cyber End Dragon and Beast King Barbaros to end the game!

Cheung's first turn cripling combination of Royal Tribute, Malefic Cyber End Dragon and Skill Drain certainly gave Peters a hard time, will Peters be able to make up for it in game 3?

Peters starts off game 3 by setting 2 cards to his backrow before passing.

Cheung actives Mystical Space Typhoon targetting the card that Peters set last: a copy of Mystical Space Typhoon. Next, Cheung activates 2 copies of Terraforming adding a copy of Geartown and copy of Necrovalley from his deck to his hand. Cheung sets a field spell. Destroying his set Geartown, Cheung sets another field spell; activating the effect of Geartown to Special Summon Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon from his deck in Attack Position. Cheung swings with Gadjiltron Dragon, dealing 3000 points of direct damage to Peters. In Main Phase 2, Cheung flips over his set Necrovalley and sets 2 cards before ending his turn.

Peters: 5000

Peters Normal Summons Lonefire Blossom. Calling priority on the effect, he tributes Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon a Dandylion from his deck in defense position. Peters sets 1 card to his backrow before ending his turn.

Cheung draws and uses Gadjiltron Dragon to attack Peters' Dandylion. Dandylion's effect activates, giving Peters 2 defense position Fluff Tokens.

Peters tributes 1 of his Fluff Tokens to Normal Summon Caius the Shadow Monarch; Caius' effect activates and Peters chooses to banish Cheung's Gadjiltron Dragon. Cheung chains Skill Drain, paying 1000 lifepoints to negate the effect of Caius. Peters chains Mystical Space Typhoon, targetting Cheung's Skill Drain! Cheung takes some careful consideration before chaining Solemn Judgment to Peters' Mystical Space Typhoon, paying 3500 life points to negagte the activation and destroy it! Peters thinks for a moment before activating Enemy Controller, tributing his remaining Fluff Token to take control of Cheung's Gadjiltron Dragon! Cheung conceeds without any form of protection from attacks by both monsters.
