Tournament Staff
Tournament Organizer: Pengwan
Pairings Organizer: Pengwan
Coverage Staff: Gnation, Pengwan
Dispute Committee Head Judge: Pengwan
Dispute Committee Judges: Gnation, Plushie, Salad, Sidereal

Rules
- Four days per round.
- Seven rounds of swiss with a Top 16 playoff after swiss.
- Decklists are to be sent by PM to the Tournament Organizer. You must PM your decklist before you play in Round 1. If you break this rule your match will be voided and you will receive a game loss.
- If you fail to play for 2 rounds, or make no effort to play for 2 rounds you will be dropped from the tournament.
- YG06 and Structure Deck Dragunity Legion will be legal for this tournament.

YVD.SET WITH SDDL + YG06

The entire Structure should be on the official YVD set file by the end of Round 2, we apologize for this inconvenience.

Decklists
- Your decklist must be sent to Pengwan by PM by February 28, 2011. If they are sent at a later time you may receive a game loss. Please note that after Round 5 you will be allowed to resubmit your decklist with minor card changes (you can only make card changes, you cannot change your deck entirely.) For example if you enter with Blackwing you cannot decide to run X-Saber after Round 5. If you are running Blackwing with 3 Sirocco you may change to a Blackwing deck with 2 Sirocco and etc. If you have questions about this feel free to ask.

Activity
- If the round has ended and you have not played yet, make a post explaining the situation with details of contact made and things of this nature. Your post will be read by a member of the Dispute Committee who will then rule on your match.
- Posting in this thread alone does not constitute activity. Make efforts to contact your opponent through PMs and instant messaging. You should save all this as well incase you need to make a post for an activity ruling.
- The Dispute Committee Judges will look over all activity decisions and rule on them. After a Judge makes their decision you have 24 hours to appeal the ruling. The Head Judge will look over your appeal and make sure it was ruled on fairly. The Head Judge's decision is always final and cannot be appealed.

Feature Matches
How to record a YVD match:

The program I want you to use is called Camtasia. You will need BitTorrent to successfully download the cracked version of Camtasia, if you don't have BitTorrent you can download it here. Once you have BitTorrent, you can download Camtasia here. Once you've finished downloading, open it up and install it (it's very easy to install, just follow the instructions it gives you). When it asks you to enter a name and serial number, use the following:

  • Name: savarna23
  • Serial number: GCABC-CPCCE-BPMMB-XAJXP-S8F6R
Once you have installed and opened the program, to begin recording a video you need to click the "Record the screen" button near the top left. It will bring up a new menu and a green dotted-line frame. Before starting to record, you'll want to click the "custom" button on the menu under "select area", then click the small chain-link thingy next to where you input dimensions, which allows you to set the dimensions to 905 x 670, which is enough to show exactly the entire standard YVD screen. If you haven't already, open up YVD. You need to move the green frame over the YVD window by pressing anywhere on the green dotted line and dragging it until it lines up with YVD. Once you're ready to begin your game, click record. If you have a microphone on your computer, it will record your audio as well, unless you turn audio off (if you want to do your own commentary on the match, leave the audio on, but if you do not want to do it, make sure you turn the audio off). Once you're ready to begin playing, click record. You may pause the recording at any time (I encourage you to pause it whenever you take a break, think for a long time, etc. to reduce the amount of playback time for when people are watching). When you are done, stop the recording, save the video, then email it to me!

If these instructions don't help you, just watch the tutorial video that automatically comes up when you start the program for the first time, it's much more detailed and precise lol. There are also other programs out there, but I haven't used them and I've heard they are lower quality, but it you cannot use this for some reason you can use whatever you want so long as the results are the same (an awesome game of ygo). If you need any help, just pm me, email me, or talk to me on aim and I'll do my best to solve your problems.

Day 1 Intro

After a long hiatus the Grand Prix Championship has returned. Welcome to the first premier event of the new format, Grand Prix Championship Honolulu! We have roughly 90 competitors entered in the tournament, and we should see plenty of innovation. Dragunities and Elemental Hero the Shining make their tournament debut, but it remains to be seen how many duelists will be brave enough to go with these unestablished decks. Six Samurai are still revered by many as the top deck coming off their dominating performance in Dallas, but will that hold true throughout this tournament?

Many players are seeing Chaos as a deck that can make its return to the spotlight, but one cannot help but wonder if the deck is really strong enough to survive in a tournament full of Six Samurai, Gravekeepers, X-Sabers, and Gladiator Beasts. All 4 decks will be represented here today, so Chaos will have its proving ground in this tournament.

One thing we know for sure is that this tournament will be exciting and packed with innovation. It may very well come down to the player who is most prepared for the rigors of the new format, but only time will tell. Good luck to all entrants and welcome to Grand Prix Championship Honolulu!

Round 1 Feature Match
Mike Steinman vs. Brandon WIgley

This one looks to be our most... interesting feature match of the first round. Certainly funny how relevant this first round feature ended up being to the DGZ YGO community. We have Mike Steinman (TS Fearless) facing off against Brandon Wigley (ATL Insanity). If you are unfamiliar with their recent history, I'd suggest doing a search in the War Section, pretty dramatic stuff!

Anyway, time to get into the match, but not before noting that Mike wishes to credit Josh Fulger (Gnation07) for the Gravekeeper deck he chose to run for this GPC.

Game 1
Both players load up and Mike starts off with a Pot of Duality revealing Gravekeeper's Commandant, Gravekeeper's Recruiter, and Mystical Space Typhoon. He adds the Recruiter to his hand, sets a Monster and a Spell/Trap card and passes his turn. Brandon starts his first turn of the match with a Pot of Duality of his own. His reveals XX-Saber Darksoul, Gottoms' Emergency Call, and Mystical Space Typhoon. He takes MST, and activates it, destroying Mike's set Bottomless Trap Hole. Brandon follows up by setting a Monster and 3 Spell/Trap cards before ending his turn. An interesting and somewhat odd move. What could those face-downs be?

Mike normal summons Gravekeeper's Recruiter on his turn, and then flips Gravekeeper's Spy, but Brandon thwarts it with his Royal Oppression! Steinman discards Gravekeeper's Commandant to get Necrovalley from his deck, but Necrovalley is immediately destroyed as Brandon activates his set Mystical Space Typhoon as soon as Mike activates it. Luckily Steinman is holding another Necrovalley, and activated it before attacking Wigley's face-down XX-Saber Darksoul with Gravekeeper's Recruiter. Mike sets a Spell/Trap and Brandon searches another XX-Saber Darksoul in the end phase before drawing for his turn and passing after setting a Monster. Mike decides to attack the Monster, revealing XX-Saber Emmersblade, which recruits a XX-Saber Boggart Knight to Brandon's field. Steinman then activates his set Spell/Trap - Royal Tribute! Brandon discards XX-Saber Darksoul from his hand, revealing a Giant Trunade.

Brandon attacks the Recruiter on his turn with Boggart Knight, netting Steinman a Gravekeeper's Descendant, then sets a Spell/Trap card and passes, but his Torrential Tribute gets taken out in the end phase by Mike's Typhoon. Mike activates Pot of Duality, and takes Book of Moon over Royal Tribute and Royal Oppression. Then, he summons Gravekeeper's Descendant, and attacks over XX-Saber Boggart Knight, bringing Wigley down to 7100, and passes after setting the Book of Moon he picked off of Duality. Brandon sets a Monster and passes. Steinman flip summons Gravekeeper's Commandant successfully, then tributes it with Gravekeeper's Descendent to destroy Brandon's face-down Emmersblade, attacks for 2000 more, sets his freshly drawn card to his backrow, and passes. Brandon once again sets a monster and passes, and Steinman skillfully draws a Gravekeeper's Stele to get Recruiter and Commandant back from his graveyard! He summons the Recruiter, and tributes it away for Descendent, destroying Brandon's set X-Saber Pashuul, and searching his deck for another Recruiter. He attacks for 2000 more damage, and Brandon concedes the duel after drawing nothing of use off of his topdecked Pot of Duality! Mike Steinman wins Game 1 with a steady influx of Gravekeepers and a very fortunate Gravekeeper's Stele drawn at a key time.

Game 2
Brandon begins game 2, hoping to come back from a fairly dominating performance by Mike Steinman and his Gravekeeper deck.

He begins with a face-down Monster and 2 Spell/Traps. Mike mirrors Brandon's field with his own Monster and 2 Spell/Traps. Wigley removes Mike's face-down Gravekeeper's Assailant from the game with Nobleman of Crossout. Not what he wanted to hit. He continues his turn by flip summoning XX-Saber Emmersblade, and attacking directly, dropping Steinman to 6700. Wigley sets another Monster, and ends his turn. Steinman takes his turn and plays Dark Hole, destroying Brandon's Emmersblade and face-down X-Saber Pashuul, a potentially devastating play! Mike follows up by summoning Gravekeeper's Commandant and attacking directly, setting another Spell/Trap, and passing.

Brandon ends after setting a Monster. Mike attacks the Monster, Darksoul, with his Commandant. Darksoul gets Brandon another Emmersblade in the end phase. Brandon simply sets another Monster and ends his turn. Mike summons Gravekeeper's Recruiter on his turn, but that summon gets negated by a Solemn Warning. Mike just attacks the face-down Monster with Commandant, and negates the Emmersblade with his own Solemn Warning before ending. Wigley draws, and activates Dark Hole, destroying Gravekeeper's Commandant. Then, he summons XX-Saber Fulhelmknight and attacks directly to drop Mike down to 3400. He sets a Saber Hole, only to get it destroyed in the end phase by MST. Steinman draws, and MST's Brandon's other backrow, Royal Oppression, then activates Gravekeeper's Stele to retrieve Commandant and Recruiter from his graveyard. He discards Commandant to bring out Necrovalley, summons the Recruiter, and attacks Fulhelmknight, which negates the attack. Mike sets a Spell/Trap card and ends his turn.

Brandon draws to 2 cards in hand, and sets both cards, one to each zone. Steinman summons another Recruiter, and attacks Fulhelmknight with 1, and Brandon's face-down Monster, X-Saber Pashuul, with the other. Brandon draws, and sets his drawn card to his backrow. Steinman draws, and Brandon takes 1000 damage in the Standby Phase due to Pashuul, leaving him with 3400 LP. Mike changes both Recruiters to defense position, sets his drawn card to his backrow, and ends his turn. Brandon draws a card, and once again sets it to his backrow. Mike sets a monster and Brandon takes another 1000 damage from Pashuul.

Brandon passes, and activates Dust Tornado in Mike's draw phase, destroying Royal Oppression. Pashuul inflicts another 1000 damage to Brandon, bringing him to just 1400. Mike flip summons Gravekeeper's Spy, but Brandon activates his face-down Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, only to be negated by Mike's Solemn Judgment! Mike summons Descendent with the Spy, and uses his turn player priority to tribute his Recruiter and try to destroy one of Brandon's backrows. Brandon chains the targetted card - Dust Tornado - to destroy Necrovalley. But Mike tributes his second Recruiter to target Brandon's last Spell/Trap card, Trap Stun. Then, he searches a 3rd Recruiter, summons it, tributes it off once again, this time to destroy Brandon's X-Saber Pashuul, leaving him with a clear field for Descendent and Spy to attack, giving Mike Steinman the victory!

Mike Steinman wins Round 1 2-0, beating Brandon Wigley's X-Sabers due to an impressive showing by Josh Fulger's Gravekeeper deck!

Round 1 Feature Match
Alex Ahearn vs. Chris Hentz

Ahearn is new to warring but known throughout the forum as the infamous WorldbyStorm. His opponent is Chris Hentz, proud member of Team Duelistgroundz.com and Team Fourshot. Both players wished each other good luck and the match began.

Game 1
Ahearn won the roll 4 to 2 and opened with a set monster.

Hentz drew and activated One for One, discarding Treeborn Frog to Special Summon Fishborg Blaster from his deck. He tributed Fishborg Blaster to Tribute Summon Raiza the Storm Monarch and spin Ahearn's face-down monster. Raiza the Storm Monarch attacked for 2400 and Hentz ended his turn.

Hentz: 8000
Ahearn: 5600

Ahearn drew, set a monster and 1 backrow then ended his turn.

Hentz drew and activated Mystical Space Typhoon during his Standby Phase to destroy the newly set Gottoms' Emergency Call. Next he brought back Treeborn Frog and discarded Ronintoadin from his hand to Special Summon Fishborg Blaster from his Graveyard. Treeborn Frog and Fishborg Blaster were both sent to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Formula Synchron, allowing Hentz to draw a card. Raiza the Storm Monarch attacked the face-down monster, destroying XX-Saber Emmersblade, allowing Ahearn to Special Summon XX-Saber Darksoul from his Deck. Hentz ended his turn with no further plays.

Ahearn drew, set a monster and 1 backrow then ended his turn.

Hentz drew and activated Mystical Space Typhoon during his Standby Phase again to destroy Enemy Controller. He then brought back Treeborn Frog and discarded Soul Exchange to bring back Fishborg Blaster alongside it. Fishborg Blaster and Treeborn Frog were sent to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Formula Synchron, drawing 1 card with its effect. He then Normal Summoned Swap Frog, activating the effect to send a copy of Swap Frog from his Deck to the Graveyard. Swap Frog returned Raiza the Storm Monarch from the field to the hand and Hentz ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and Normal Summoned XX-Saber Fulhelmknight. He then Flip Summoned 2 copies of XX-Saber Darksoul and sent all 3 monsters to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Mist Wurm! Mist Wurm targeted 2 copies of Formula Synchron and Swap Frog; Hentz allowed it and all 3 cards were returned. Mist Wurm attaked directly for 2500 and Ahearn ended his turn, searching out XX-Saber Boggart Knight and XX-Saber Faultroll with Darksoul.

Ahearn: 5600
Hentz: 5500

Hentz drew and brought back Treeborn Frog from the Graveyard and then discarded Genex Controller to bring back Fishborg Blaster alongside it. He sent both to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Formula Synchron. He removed Swap Frog from his Graveyard to Special Summon Ronintoadin and tributed both his monsters for Light and Darkness Dragon! Light and Darkness Dragon attacked over Mist Wurm for 300 and Hentz ended his turn.

Hentz: 5500
Ahearn: 5300

Ahearn drew, set a monster and ended his turn.

Hentz drew and attacked the face-down monster with Light and Darkness Dragon. X-Saber Pashuul was revealed. Hentz ended his turn.

Ahearn drew, set 1 card to his backrow and then activated Giant Trunade to reduce Light and Darkness Dragon by 500 ATK & DEF. He followed it up by Normal Summoning X-Saber Airbellum and Special Summoning XX-Saber Faultroll. XX-Saber Faultroll attacked over Light and Darkness Dragon for 100 and Hentz got back Ronintoadin in Defense Position with Light and Darkness Dragon's effect. Ahearn moved to Main Phase 2 and activated Faultroll's effect to Special Summon XX-Saber Darksoul from his Graveyard. He sent X-Saber Airbellum and XX-Saber Faultroll to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Gottoms! XX-Saber Gottoms effect was activated, tributing off XX-Saber Darksoul to knock Battle Fader out of Hentz's hand. Ahearn ended his turn and got XX-Saber Faultroll from his Deck with XX-Saber Darksoul.

Hentz: 5400
Ahearn: 5300

Hentz drew and Special Summoned Treeborn Frog, then tributed it for Enemy Controller to take control of XX-Saber Gottoms. He brought back Treeborn Frog again and activated Soul Exchange on X-Saber Pashuul, Ahearn chained Mystical Space Typhoon on Soul Exchange to avoid a potential Raiza lock. Hentz tributed Pashuul for the effect of XX-Saber Gottoms to knock a copy of XX-Saber Faultroll from Ahearn's hand and used Gottoms' effect again to tribute itself and discard XX-Saber Boggart Knight from Ahearn's hand. Hentz discarded Swap Frog from his own hand to Special Summon Fishborg Blaster, sent both Fishborg Blaster and Treeborn Frog to the Graveyard to draw 1 card and ended his turn with no further plays.

Ahearn drew, set 1 card to his backrow and ended.

Hentz drew and Ahearn activated Trap Dustshoot to reveal Raiza the Storm Monarch, Monster Reborn, Genex Controller, and Tragoedia. Raiza the Storm Monarch was sent back to the Deck. Hentz brought back Treeborn Frog, discarded Tragoedia to get back Fisborg Blaster and Synchro Summoned another Formula Synchron to draw a card. He activated Reborn to Special Summon XX-Saber Gottoms, attacked for 3100 and then ended his turn.

Hentz: 5400
Ahearn: 3200

Ahearn drew and scooped, seeing no way out.

Hentz: 5400
Ahearn: 0

Chris Hentz takes a very long back and forth game way with a clutch Monster Reborn! Both players sided and prepared for Game 2 quickly.

Game 2
Ahearn began the game with Pot of Duality to reveal Dark Hole, Mind Control, and XX-Saber Darksoul. He kept Dark Hole and shuffled back the other 2 cards. He set a monster and 1 backrow then ended his turn.

Hentz drew and passed with no plays.

Ahearn drew and also passed with no plays.

Hentz drew and Normal Summoned Genex Undine, activating the effect but Ahearn chained Effect Veiler! Neither player seemed to realize that sending a WATER monster to the Graveyard is the cost for activation so no monster was sent from the Deck to the Graveyard. Hentz ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and Normal Summoned XX-Saber Boggart Knight, choosing not to activate the effect. XX-Saber Boggart Knight attacked over Genex Undine for 600 and Ahearn ended his turn.

Ahearn: 8000
Hentz: 7400

Hentz drew and Ahearn flipped Trap Dustshoot to reveal a hand of Soul Exchange, Mystical Space Typhoon, Genex Controller, Vanity's Fiend, Battle Fader, Battle Fader, and Monster Reborn. Vanity's Fiend was returned to the Deck and Hentz ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and attacked with XX-Saber Boggart Knight for 1900, then set 1 card to his backrow and ended.

Ahearn: 8000
Hentz: 5500

Hentz drew and activated Mystical Space Typhoon on the new set, Reinforce Truth which Ahearn chained to Special Summon XX-Saber Pashuul. Hentz ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and Flip Summoned XX-Saber Darksoul. He then switched X-Saber Pashuul to Attack Position and followed it up by Special Summoning XX-Saber Faultroll. He sent X-Saber Pashuul and XX-Saber Darksoul to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Naturia Beast. He activated XX-Saber Faultroll's effect to bring back X-Saber Pashuul and sent XX-Saber Faultroll and X-Saber Pashuul to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon! XX-Saber Boggart Knight declared an attack and Hentz Special Summoned Battle Fader from his Hand to negate the attack and end the Battle Phase. Ahearn ended his turn and got XX-Saber Faultroll from his Deck with the effect of XX-Saber Darksoul.

Hentz drew and Normal Summoned Swap Frog, activating the effect but Ahearn blasted it with Pulling the Rug! Hentz ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and Normal Summoned XX-Saber Boggart Knight, choosing not to activate the effect. The first XX-Saber Boggart Knight attacked over the defense position Battle Fader and the second Boggart Knight declared a direct attack. Hentz attemped to Special Summon another Battle Fader but Ahearn had Solemn Warning to negate it. Hentz scooped with no way to stop the attacks!

Alex Ahearn takes Game 2 with Saber Synchro plays, finishing off Hentz before his deck ever got a chance to get rolling. That Effect Veiler might really come back to haunt Hentz. Both players wished each other good luck and Game 3 began.

Game 3
Hentz began the final game by setting a monster and ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and Normal Summoned XX-Saber Boggart Knight, choosing not to activate the effect. XX-Saber Boggart Knight slammed into Ronintoadin and Ahearn took 100 points of damage. He set 2 cards to his backrow and ended.

Hentz: 8000
Ahearn: 7900

Hentz drew, set 1 card to his backrow and ended.

Ahearn drew, set 1 card to his backrow and ended.

Hentz drew and passed with no plays.

Ahearn drew, set 1 card to his backrow and ended. Both players were mirroring each other, neither willing to commit.

Hentz drew and passed with no plays.

Ahearn drew, set a monster and ended his turn.

Hentz drew, set a monster and 1 backrow then ended his turn.

Ahearn drew and Normal Summoned XX-Saber Pashuul. He sent XX-Saber Pashuul and XX-Saber Boggart Knight to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon XX-Saber Hyunlei and target both of Hentz's face-down cards. Hentz chained Enemy Controller, tributing a face-down Treeborn Frog to attempt to take control of XX-Saber Hyunlei but Ahearn chained Solemn Judgment to negate it. Mystical Space Typhoon was destroyed by XX-Saber Hyunlei. Ahearn flip summoned XX-Saber Darksoul and Special Summoned 2 copies of XX-Saber Faultroll! He activated 1 XX-Saber Faultroll and Hentz chained Effect Veiler to negate it. Ahearn then activated the other XX-Saber Faultroll to get back X-Saber Pashuul and sent X-Saber Pashuul and XX-Saber Darksoul to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Naturia Beast. Naturia Beast attacked over Ronintoadin and Hyunlei declared a direct attack. Hentz attempted to Special Summon Battle Fader but Ahearn flipped Royal Oppression to negate it! Hyunlei hit for 2300 and both Faultroll connected for 4800. Ahearn ended and added XX-Saber Fulhelmknight from his Deck to his Hand with XX-Saber Darksoul.

Hentz drew his next card and scooped, having no way out.

Alex Ahearn comes back from a Game 1 loss to overpower Chris Hentz in the next 2 games! He moves on in the tournament with a 1-0 record.

Deck Profile: Tony Scott's Miracle Hero Beat

Tony has decided to enter the competition with his unique Ice Edge Hero Beat, a deck that mixes the raw power of the well known Hero Beat decks of last format with Miracle Fusion. This deck recently received a significant boost with the release of Elemental Hero - The Shining, and Scott has wasted no time putting this card to use.

-Decklist will be posted after the tournament-

The following is my interview with Scott regarding his deck and card choices.

Q: What made you choose this deck for the tournament?
A: The format is very undefined right now and I feel my deck has a lot of solid match-ups. I predict the meta to be full of Trap Stun, and with 6 useful mained Quick-Play Spells my deck can handle that much better than most. Super Polymerization is a card that really catches people off guard and can just win games vs. Trap Stun plays. I tested this deck a good bit at the end of last format and I feel very comfortable with it heading into the new format.

Q: How do you feel about your odds entering the tournament?
A: I feel that there are players better than myself in this tournament but the match-up my Deck has versus most of the top decks of the format will narrow that gap significantly. I feel this match-up is one they may not have tested extensively and I plan to use that to my advantage.

Q: How does your deck match up against the other predicted top decks of the format?
A: My deck matches up great with most decks of the format. Versus Samurai, Kizan and Kagemusha are both Super Polymerization bait. I can set my Hero then activate Super Polymerization to get Elemental Hero Gaia. Samurai also struggle with consistent 1900 beaters backed by Gemini Spark.

Gladiator Beasts have a poor match-up vs Hero Beat and it continues here. All their main explosion is hit very hard by Super Polymerization (Prisma, Darius, Tiger), and almost all of my Normal Summons are naturally bigger than theirs. The match-up becomes even easier after siding.

Fish and Frog Monarch are full of Water monsters, which means I can Super Polymerization into Absolute Zero with ease. Absolute Zero works against all the major power cards off both these decks.

Gravekeeper is the one deck I feel my deck has significant trouble with Game 1. I hope to win the game with Ice Edge and Gemini Spark plays. Game 2 I side in Skyscraper, which gives them a lot of trouble with Ice Edge, Caius, and Mobius.

Q: Explain the unique card choices in your deck and your reasoning behind them.
A: Elemental Hero Ice Edge forces out defensive removal like Prison & Warning before my opponent wants to use them while being a Water-attribute Hero to support Miracle Fusion. He is the key aspect of my deck and can win games single handedly if protected properly. Cyber Dragon + Ice Edge or Miracle Fusion + Ice Edge is a strong play that wins games.

Super Polymerization is just a ridiculous card in this metagame. With Book of Moon at 1 most players do not fear Quick-Play spells and this card punishes that mindset.

Regardless of the result, this deck definitely has potential against the current format. If you are one of the many players who misses having consistent answers to Trap Stun, this deck is worth looking into. We will keep our eye on Scott's progress during the tournament to see if his theories work themselves out over time.

Deck Profile: Anthony Gospel's Chaos Virus Stun

Anthony has decided to use his unique Chaos Stun deck in the tournament today. The deck plays like a normal Chaos Stun deck with a few exceptions: Anthony is packing 3 copies of Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast and even a Giant Kozaky to make use of his 3 copies of Eradicator Epidemic Virus and a Deck Devastation Virus!

-Decklist will be posted after the tournament-

The following is my interview with Anthony regarding his deck:

Q: What made you choose the deck for this tournament?
A: I feel that this format is wide open right now, with a lot of variety in the field. I believe Chaos Stun has a solid match-up vs a vast majority of the decks that will be popular in this tournament. My deck is very stable and even when I drew poorly the deck is consistent enough to give me a chance to play out of them.

Q: How do you feel about your odds entering the tournament?
A: I feel very confident in my chances of making the Top 16. I had success in the DuelistGroundz United States Championship playing a similar deck. I feel that as long as I play smart and hopefully don't get paired versus Gravekeepers all day I will be fine.

Q: How does your deck match-up against the other predicted top decks of the format?
A: I feel very confident in most of the mainstream match-ups since my deck is inherently Anti Meta. Chaos Sorcerer is a great boss card that gives my Anti Meta strategy the extra punch to finish matches off. Gravekeeper is probably my worst match-up but the Virus Engine goes along way versus them. Being able to sweep away all their Traps with 2 cards is terrific, and I can even use Eradicator Epidemic Virus to clear Necrovalley if needed. I feel like this deck has as good of a match-up versus Gravekeeper as any Chaos deck possibly could.

Q: Explain the unique card choices in your deck?
A: The Virus Engine is what really separates this deck. It admittedly takes away some of the consistency from the deck, however the explosiveness you get when you successfully resolve one of the Virus cards is too big to ignore. Not only do I get physical card advantage from this, but similar to Royal Tribute I will now know all of their cards and how to maximize my cards against what they have.

Anthony's build is a unique spin on the deck. Already off to a good 1-0 start in the tournament Anthony hopes to ride his Virus Engine all the way to the Top 16 playoff. This deck will certainly have a chance to prove itself in the coming rounds and could become a trendsetter for Chaos Stun decks everywhere.
