Administration has become cliquish, in some cases detached, and in many cases incompetent, and is no longer a functional component of this community, allowing it to stagnant.
I am willing to admit I am part of this program and am persuing efforts to change my engagement level.

I have, along with consultation with Brady, decided the most appropriate action now is to cull the entire administration. Throughout my entire time on DG, roles have only been very loosly defined, and I would like to enhance the clarity of the position, and strive to work better together, and be more engaged in the community as a whole.

I have kept 3 administrators other than myself. Pharaoh Atem is simply such a qualified resource on game mechanics and rulings, and such a beacon of the community that I do not believe it is appropriate to remove him. Monkey D Luffy will remain on due to his qualification in managing the trade section and unwillingness to cast that segment aside, and Wumbologist remains due to his pervasive role in the YGO sections.

I had intended to keep Brady as well, but it is his desire to step away from a community that has at times actively disregarded his substantial effort. It is not me firing him, though it is my failure in being unable to retain him.

All removed admins have been dropped to Ancient with an admin mask. I hope they can understand this action and wont hold me in slight, I believe drastic action was necessary and acknowledge my own weakness in the fact I can easily be sweet-talked by my friends that I've hired into these roles.

The administrative shakeup will continue over the next few days, but tentatively three necros will be added -
Naus and Allenpennington will both be assuming roles involved in keeping tabs on the YGO section, and Allen and Wumbo will be running the war section together - with Naus serving as a sober second thought to them in case of them disagreeing.
In addition, I am pleased to welcome salad back to the administration where he will assist in trading and YGO wherever he can.

I would like to make clear the distinction between NECRO MOD and ROOT ADMIN as it has been considered before -
A ROOT ADMIN is someone implicitly trusted and is more focused on either the tech side of the board or in the determining of overarching policy. As the ACP grants them more powers, they tend to be people I trust implicitly to not stab me in the back
Necro moderoids do many of the same tasks and command the same respect, and I still respect their views on policy - their job however is to be more public facing and observable, and also to keep tabs on the ancients.

I believe in the future all ancients will have a necro they'll be assigned to just ot keep tabs on them, simply in order for us to more accuratly assess who does what and when - at the current time we have trouble managing which mods are productiv eand which ones aren't and I belive this will help there.

Further staff changes will be coming in the future, but I want to get to know my admins better, and more coheisvely plan the direction the site is headed, because "nowhere" isn't a very good answer.

Your post mentions the YGO sections a lot and while YGO is the primary focus for most DGZ members (and in theory should be in safe hands with the team you've mentioned) are there other sections of the site that need watching over? I'm pretty much exclusively here for YGO so I'm not aware of much outside of CSK and whether it needs as much control as the YGO sections, but I just notices that your announcement was very YGO-centric.
