so im thnking about using monarchs again for seattle, but what im scared of is everyone siding in hate that is good against the atlantean/mermail deck. how is everyone gonna start fighting against the side deck cards like D-Fissure, Macro, and the like?

3 Dust, 3 Typhoon. Lancer is a better choice than pure monarchs right now because it's less hurt by the generally sided cards for monarchs.

List has been amazing for me. A majority of the time when Snowman is attacked, he lives, allowing me to flip Aoi and take a card from the opponent's hand. Swap + Guide work amazing, tutoring and swaping your Sangan, or going for Acid and playing Creature Swap.

With Grizzly/Salvage at two in here, I felt a need to cut Lancer to 2.

Anyone else's thoughts on this list? The extra I had built is pretty standard for having rank 2/3 engines in the deck.

I may add Soul Exchange so I do not lose to the Macro Rabbit match-up so easily. Outside of ECon/Treeborn/Ronin, I have no way of substaining a monster on the field.

Room and not wanting to run that many tribute monsters. Ive been really wanting to test 2 Raiza with 2 Caius sided since Raiza leads to the more damaging outcome and is still pretty strong against xyzs and a lot of boss monsters in my opinion. Just having a 2400 that can swing twice with daigusto and the deck being able to churn out two rank 2s with ease is just appealing as fuck.

I've tested the card before when Dark World was rampant, but Grapha always seem to come back and run it over. This card seems like it'd be really good vs Atlantails though. I will definitely test it again.

Guys Slushy is REALLY good in Lancer and vastly improves the Wind-Up match-up AND the Rabbit match-up which were our hardest match-ups. Here's a list my friend took to an case tournament in Orlando and made top 8.

I'm not sold on Poseidra. I would think LaDD would be a superior choice, especially since you're running Faders.

Also, put Dark Hole in. Never forsake the Trinity based on best-case scenarios; it's flawed logic at best.

My biggest problem with the card is that when you have it if you use Treeborn your opponent can Torrential you. Which isnt a huge deal as you get Treeborn back but Obelisk is one of those cards that you expect you to win the game by itself with all the resources you put in to it.

I dropped them for 2 Raiza and I like it better so far.

I agree, I much rather would drop a LADD then Obelisk any day of the week now. Also I wanted to bring up some points on anubis for those that run him. He is very similar to Light and darkness dragon in point that he shuts off your treeborn and ronins, but doesn't have the added protection.

Well I don't think Treeborn + Ronintoadin + Ronintoadin or a Soul Ex/E-Con play is a real lot a ressources. And I'm not sure it's good to summon useless things like Treeborn when you have the actual nuts on the field.
I mean, Obelisk is free most of the time, and if you can't just get a win out of it, you'll still make your opponent waste his cards to get rid of him, so he'll still have done a good job right ? Obelisk for president.

You just stop summoning stuff when obelisk is out to make dark hole and mirror force the only outs. You're still going to get a +1 every turn off of chump blockers, no need to get greedy. Once they do get rid of it, you should have something like a LADD to follow it up. If they run out of chump blockers you win.

This basically. I tested just Raiza as my only monarch yesterday and only lost when I couldnt focus on my match. I don't know why you would want to cut Obelisk, if your using him right you should only be summoning other monsters if they have a huge field you need to take care of with little-no risk of TT.

If you want to go that route, even Sorciere De Fleur has potential. All of it seems mediocre though. Anubis is more of a side card and Vamp dragon is meh at best.
