  1. What book(s) are you currently reading?

I mean within the story. It obviously includes stuff like satan himself taking part in it etc. but people become crazy over what happens and so I continuously asked myself "is this really happening or are these just his crazy thoughts?"
  2. What book(s) are you currently reading?

I read Master and Margharita, too. Last summer I was at some places in Moscow which the story refers to and where the author lived, was pretty cool. The book is well written but I'm not a fan of stories in which you permanently gotta question whether what happens is real or a dream/whatever (don't remember it too well anymore)
  3. What book(s) are you currently reading?

    Imperium by Ryszard Kapuściński.
  4. Burning Abyss - Deck Discussion

I agree with Warthog, these were my thoughts exactly and I think that the ritual version will be the way to go. I also believe that the new guys are being underestimated, the summoning guy and the removing guy create a lot of tempo and address problems like Winda which until now have sometimes been a real pain in the ass. I obviously haven't done any testing yet, but it seems to me that this deck will be able to spit out OTK's out of nowhere really consistently.    The only questions that are left for me is the ratios, what traps should still be used in the deck and whether Mathman will be viable.
  5. Burning Abyss - Deck Discussion

So the general consensus seems to be that the discard traps suck.. and yet everybody runs them. Does anybody else notice a slight contradiction?
  6. Burning Abyss - Deck Discussion

One card that I have been trying to succesfully implement as a card that makes bigger moves possible is The Traveler and the Burning Abyss. I'm not sold on it yet though and I'll keep testing it.   Thoughts?
  7. Burning Abyss - Deck Discussion

I'm not claiming that I'm the one who has solved all of BA's issues (and if I did, I wouldn't be posting it here). Phoenix Wing Wind Blast is a VERY situational card and saying that it's always bad against a card like Dante is simply incorrect. Doing the math for the amount of situations in which it is, let's call it "okay" or good in relation to the amount of situations in which it's not optimal is obviously next to impossible (though if somebody feels challenged - go for it, I'm not trying to hinder you) but I think it's undeniable that sometimes it's even good against floating cards.     BA's main problem was, is and (unless some really broken cards are released, which I'm currently doubting) will be it's inherent inability to make big moves. Virgil mitigates the issue but it doesn't solve it. Countless times have I wished to make a 2nd Virgil during a turn in order to go for an OTK or simply clear a board.   It's similar to when Gadgets were a thing. Gadgets on their own didn't (and obviously still don't) do much and relied on some kind of support in order to compete (Fissure, Smashing Ground, Dimensional Prison, you name it..) but lost to cards like Heavy Storm (which in this comparison takes the place of floating Dante's or whatever).   BA is currently bound to run these cards even though they aren't always as good or effective as you would want them to be. If you haven't understood this a very long time ago and try to present this reasoning  as a big "revelation" to others then you might as well keep silent or at least suggest more effective replacements for these cards.   Again, I'm not saying I have the solution and I'm open for discussions.
  8. Burning Abyss - Deck Discussion

I don't know what it is that makes you win tournaments, but it definitely isn't this "revelation" that everybody else figures out within seconds as well. You might as well write nothing if youre gonna "explain" to us that "Essentially you're using a real card (Phoenix Wing) to get rid of a card they made for free and has already replaced itself" and that it took you until this format to understand that.
  9. Fire Fist - Discussion

Going into a Tier-1 event I'd definitely run those Emptiness's. Also I'd definitely recommend 3 Iron Walls in the Side Deck. Dragons are your biggest opponent.
  10. Fire Fist - Discussion

I've played a few games with Tenken and as I thought the card is totally underwhelming.   Also, I still absolutely can't understand why you would play Rivalry over Gozen. The only match-up in competitive play in which Rivalry would be better is Evilswarm, one that should already be in our favour.
  11. Fire Fist - Discussion

I've given 1 Gyokkou a chance and so far it's been ok. If you've played through all your Tenkis it can be nice to have an additional target for Bear. Some of Squiddy's card choices irritate me. I see that Tenken can lead into cute plays, but in my opinion these situations don't occur often enough to devote 2 slots to it. The only situation where I'd consider Tenken really good, is when you prevent your opponent from conveniently getting rid of a Tiger King (e.g. with Compulsory) in order not to let you special summon with its effect. Please correct me if I have missed out on any other plays though. Also, why did he run Rivalry over Gozen? The two top decks are relatively immune to it. Again: Correct me if I have missed out on something.
  12. Fire Fist - Discussion

As much as I like boar I would rather fit cards like CCD and raioh. There really isn't a guy I wanna summon first turn besides dragon + formation, and summoning bear/gorilla with backfield just screams lance/tensen. Ccd lets us dig for more traps/tenki. I like it alot atm I think the fact that Boar is a Fire Fist monster himself should not be underestimated. He's better as a stand alone card and he gets the deck online more consistently than CCD. What are you gonna do if you don't draw what you need off of CCD?  I'm not saying CCD is bad, it has its applications, but so far I can't remember a situation where CCD would have been better than Boar. For me he's kind of making up for the lack of a 3rd Tenki.
