  1. How long have you been lifting for?  What is your 1 rep max for bench press, squat and deadlift and overhead press?   If you are new to this, you can make gains pretty quickly your first 6 months or so with a crap diet and mediocre training.  I was about your size when I started and I gained about 35 pounds in my first 6 months of training.  3500 calories is probably too much tbh.  You will gain weight fast , but 75% of it will be fat.  I weight 195 pounds and I gain weight eating only 3000 calories or so.   dont waste money on any supplements.
  2. Alan Thrall should be somewhere on that list. He has made some amazing videos regarding the Squat/DL I think any new/intermediate trainee should watch
  3. follow a linear progression program(add weight to your lifts every workout)   I like 5x5 (http://stronglifts.com/5x5/).  it is great for a beginner and simple.  you are only in the gym 3 days a week.  you wont get burned out and over whelmed.   focus on compound movements(squat, bench press, deadlift, pull ups, dips, overhead press)   start light.  focus on form.        doing crunches and bicep curls will get you nowhere.   as for diet, aaron summed it up pretty well.  this is the hardest part tbh.  if you have a shitty diet already do not expect to go cold turkey overnight and eat healthy overnight.  slowly phase out the crap over a long period of time.  I still eat chipotle or in and out nearly every day, but I also drink a lot of water and eat my veggies and healthy fats as well.   oh and dont waste money on supplements.  they pretty useless     I was 6ft 135lb in march 2014.  I have been following this outline since then and have put on nearly 60 pounds in that time.    also don't be embarrassed going to the gym as a newbie.  nobody is paying any attention to you.  just focus on doing the lifts properly(youtube is your best friend here).  serious lifters are impressed with form rather than how much weight you can half rep

  5.   Yeah when it comes to nutrition I can't stand him.  Too much bro science and ridiculous guidelines no one could ever follow consistently.  However he does know what he is talking about when it comes to demonstrating proper form and training with minimal equipment effectively.
  6. I subscribe/watch a bunch, but my the most entertaining/informative to me are     Chris Jones Scott Herman OmarIsuf BroScienceLife HodgeTwins Zach Zeiler Buff Dudes   Scooby and Elliot Hulse are alright too, depending on what they are talking about.
