1. 2014 Ban List - This format will only include the format up until the end of North American Nationals Format In this format, we are left with the remnants of mermail-firefist format but toward the end of the format, the diversity of decks will include H.A.T, Mermail, Bujin, Sylvan, Dragon Rulers, Geargia, Infernity, Lightsworn, and Zombie FTK, . Although the format was very diluted at first with such limits and Mermail Abyssgunde and Coach Soldier Wolfbark, the format was given advancments in both creativity of diversity when the set Dragons of Legend was set to be released with defining cards such as Kuribandit, Fire and Ice Hand, Mathematician, Wiretap and the most iconic and one thetranscendant cards in the history of YGO, Soul Charge. Post Dragons of Legend, The first event was ARG Richmond (decklists here), where top the top 16 included Fire Fist, Bujin, Mermail, Geargia, Ghostrick and at last, Patrick Hoban's Dragon Rulers had won over A Loli's Dragon Rulers. Match's G1 and G2-G5. However, the meta had continued to evolve past these decks as we get a new set, Primal Origin, with such key cards being released for future meta defining decks that include Traptrix, Madolche, Sylvan and Artifact cards. However, the following event, YCS Philadelphia (Decklist's Here), the expected decks of Madolche, Dragon Ruler and Infernity would top, however would have unexpected decks making it into top 32 such as Inzektors, the newly discovered H.A.T, and even Evilswarm. A giant clusterfuck of decks and such a diverse wide array of strategies (with the top 3 decks not even playing Soul Charge). The format had only began to evolve. By the end of the format, the diversity decks at this point had began to define the format, with every deck having good and bad match-ups, and with nationals 2014 rolling around, no deck had really stuck out as the best deck. Decks like Mermail with Sehabi Kerradine and Bujins with Jeff Jones had some success in ARG's, Lightsworns being a popular deck in europe (Best Video on Youtube), but no clear deck had defined the format. So it was all up the in air as to what deck was really the best deck. Nationals 2014 was one of the diverse tournaments in the history of YGO. In stark contrast to the year before where Dragon Rulers, Spellbooks and ONE Madolche deck covered the entire 2013 Top 64, up to TEN DECKS had topped 64th the event (decklist here), however not all decklists here but I did what I could find). Decks most well known during this tournament consisted of Infernity, Sylvan, Dragon Ruler (Top 16 Duel), Lightsworn Ruler, Spellbook, Geargia (If you guys have Brandon's decklist, that would be great too), Bujin, The G.O.A.T Deck (AKA Reckless Frog OTK (video profile), Jeff Jones Koa'ki Meiru (Round 10 Duel), Fire Fist Artifact Traptrix (Semi-Final Duel), and eventual winner H.A.T (Deon and McDuffie Decklist) (Final Duel Here). In all, the format had a little of everything for every duelist and play style, from control, aggro, and stun. In my opinion, decks were still in their infancy as far as solving the format, with the format being a smaller, decks still had room to evolve and strategies to combat cards were still being discovered. 2. Hey guy! I decided to play some yugioh with friends at the local level and I really like lightsworns and Geargia. I haven't played for a few years now and wanted to know if anyone had a good list for today's format?
3. 2nd Place Calgary Regionals

This is my first "real" event top, lived my life on the regionals bubble, so having an excuse to do a report is icing on the cake for me.  I had just flown back to AB the night before and decide last-minute to drive back to Calgary from my tiny town in the mountains, just for regionals. Mostly to see my buddy Noah, pick up some holos for my Draft Cube and just have a decent day. Get up at 6 for the drive, consider again not going, and then suck it up and hit the road. 2.5 hours later I'm registered. They made us do Deck lists to get registered which was kinda lame, so toss my deck together and get started Round 1. There's ~120 people, 7 rounds, which is kinda small, but I guess I shouldn't complain. I don't have any of the big decks, and almost put Hoban's ancient TG Plants build together for shits, but Noah convinces me to play something decent, so I put 3 Shadow-Imprisoning Mirrors into Geargia and hope for the best.   Round 1 - Brian G with 50-Card Shadolls (2-0) This was just unfair really. Game 1 I open 2 Vanity's Emptiness, Armor, and some defense, and he can't mount anything. Game 2 I draw a similar hand but with Macro and Breakthrough I and I just take it. After the match I trade for a bunch of shiny cards so it's really win-win for me   Round 2 - Justin Delhon with Shadolls (1-2) He wins the roll but gives me first, so I get to set Shadow-Mirror, Vanity's and Arsenal for Armor, and he can't get through. Game 2 I open my only real brick hand all day, 2 Auger, 2 Armor, and Machine Dupe. I'm struggling to get anything to stick, and he has 2 MSTs for my Soul Drain and Vanity's. Don't remember G3 too well, but it ended with Winda and an El Shadoll Fusion for some serious damage. This guy ends up going undefeated and comes 1st.   Round 3 - Andy with Monster-Mash (1-0) He wins the roll, but we get deck-checked before we can start. Judges come back 12 minutes later and my opponent gets a game loss for writing "Bad Boy Leo" in his extra deck. He swears it was worth it, lol. He starts with Lonefire+Soul Charge into a weird board of Thoughtruler and Arc Light. I set cards and pass back, and on his turn he summons Geargiarsenal. Wat? Summons Accelerator, brings Bulb back for Armades, and I Vanity when he tries to use Arsenal effect. My turn I book the Armades to turn off Vanity's, Summon Auger wtih no effect, and then Dupe it into a bunch of silly monsters and just start pushing for damage. He's wasted all his resources on bad monsters and I take it.   Round 4 - Dallas with Bujin-Shadolls (2-1) He wins the roll and starts with Tenki-Yamato, EP search Crane discard Turtle. I summon Auger w/o effect, special Accelerator, make Ragnazero to pop Yamato and he lets it go through and summons Mikazuchi. As soon as it's my turn I pop Mika and he lets that through as well, lol. I have too much advantage and just take it from there. Game 2 he opens Yamato, set 1, EP Searches Crane and discards Shadoll Beast for the draw. Ew. I open fairly well with Armor set 5, but he has Decree, and then Flying "C", and then I'm terrible and don't crash the Flyer into his Yamato to keep playing. Game 3 I open Macro Cosmos, Vanity's and Auger into Accel for GGX searching Armor. He does a couple plays, but I ruin his shit when he EP Yamatos and I Macro him. Next turn I Search out Auger and Dupe it and it's all over.   Round 5 - Chris with Burning Abyss (2-0) Had to play one of my Buddy's friends. I think I get to go first and set up Shadow Mirrors and while he can make some Dantes my floodgates just win out. Game 2 He makes double Dante mills 3 with each, and hits two of his Fire Lakes, setting one backrow. I joke that it's probably the last Lake, and he just sorta shrugs. I have MST, it ends up being his last one, and I'm able to Arsenal into Armor and Set Macro-Shadow Mirror. I have to grind through his Dantes a bit but he can't get anything going and I just take it.   Round 6 - Alex with Artifact-Batterymen (2-0) He wins the roll and starts with Thunder King Set 3. I summon Auger and Dupe it to try and force Rai-Oh, but he Sanctums on my Gigant instead and runs over the thrid Auger next turn. I draw into Book, and it lets me Arsenal over his Rai-Oh and set Armor. He kills Armor and I search Accel, and I Oasis for GGX in his endphase and put the pressure back on and he can't keep up. Game 2 is pretty similar, he doesn't see any Batterymen stuff and I just push through some Moralltachs and take it. Thought he was playing Pure Artifacts or something lol   Round 7 - Aie with Burning Abyss (2-1) At this point I'm at table 2, last time I was here I lost on the bubble to some little shit from Oshawa, so I steel my nerves and get going. I get to go first, so I set Armor, Shadow Mirror, Breakthrough, Vanity's like an asshole and pass back. He sets 3 back and a monster and passes back. On my turn he Wing Blasts my Armor discarding a trap, so I know he doesn't have much going on. I summon Arsenal and flip Mirror when I attack his set but it's Rubic, so I search Armor set 1, pass. He summons another guy from hand but I have Book to flip it down. On my turn I flip Armor for Auger without search, Dupe it, and he scoops it up. Game 2 he opens fairly strongly with Double Dante, 3 backrow, searching Tour Guide. I risk a Blind Typhoon to hit Lake but whiff and he pops my 3 sets. I'm able to get Armor up but Wing Blast > Armor and I misplay my Maxx "C" and he takes it. Game 3 I am yet again a terrible person, opening 4 floodgates + Typhoon. There's a lot of grinding back and forth, and he's not too pleased when I have the second Shadow Mirror. Eventually I GGX an Auger back from Grave and Dupe it again into double-Gigant, Castel to just push all the shit in.   My friend Mike makes 7th and gets his top too. While we're waiting around Chris suggests I call out "Round 8 Pairings are up!", so I do and everyone collectively loses their mind for a minute, judges included. We grab our prizes and hit Denny's in classic YGO fashion, then almost die on our way back to Red Deer due to freezing rain. Have a couple beers, draft a little cube, and call it a night.   Decklist

Monsters: 14 3 Geargiaccelerator 3 Geargiarmor 3 Geargiarsenal 3 Geargiauger 1 Debris Dragon 1 Geargiano Spells: 12 3 Machine Duplication 3 Mystical Space Typhoon 3 Upstart Goblin 1 Book of Moon 1 Raigeki 1 Soul Charge Traps: 14 3 Breakthrough Skill 3 Shadow Imprisoning Mirror 3 Vanity's Emptiness 2 Oasis of Dragon's Souls 1 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Compulsory Evacuation Device 1 Solemn Warning Extra: 15 3 Gear Gigant X 1 Abyss Dweller 1 Cairngorgon, the Antiluminescent Knight 1 Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer 1 Daigusto Emeral 1 Diamond Dire Wolf 1 Evilswarm Exciton Knight 1 Gagaga Cowboy 1 No. 50 Blackship of Corn 1 No. 80 Rhapsody in Berserk 1 No. 101 Silent Honour's ARK 1 No. 103 Ragnazero Side Deck: 15 1 Macro Cosmos 1 Soul Drain 2 Maxx "C" 11 cards I didn't use   Didn't make Black Rose, Exciton, or Rhapsody at all, though I'd keep them in. Oasis may as well have been Call of the Haunted, as I didn't have a chance to block anything with Armor and mostly used it End Phase. Sided in Macro Cosmos every game and may as well have main-decked it.   Props: First top Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror Drawing Macro Cosmos every G3 Virgil Mat looks decent Picked up 20-odd cards for my cube Mike topped, Chris got his invite   Slops: Noah going 0-2 Drop Spending money Freezing Rain
4. Top 8 ARGCS Indianapolis

Ok so for those of you who don't know me (all of you) my name is Russ, or as named by ARG RF Hunter. I managed to score my first premiere event top this weekend at Indy, which felt really good because I have bubbled 5 YCS/Nats and am 0 for 5 on the bubble. I have 10 regional top 8s but hadn't ever topped anything real. This will probably be a really long report so get ready for a big wall of text.   On Sunday, I get a DN message from my friend and testing partner Pierce Crawley, telling me that we should look into playing geargia at ARG Indy. At first I laugh at him and tell him to stop fucking around, but then he really starts to explain to me that they indeed might be the perfect meta call. Because of the ability to main 3 Shadow-Imprisoning mirror, virtually the best floodgate in the game right now, gears sounded extremely appealing. We started with a terrible rough draft, and slowly but surely changed the build through countless hours of grinding rated matches on DN. We started playing the hand engine, which seemed good but just wasn't powerful enough, and ended up trying the traptrix engine which was also very underwhelming. We spent the rest of the week just testing ideas/shooting theory back and forth and never really decided on the best build to play.   Fast forward to Friday, after class I drive the short 25 minutes to Parker Roberson's house, (shoutout for letting me stay over for the weekend), and at about midnight on Friday, Pierce comes up to me and tells me with barely any prior testing, that we are going to be playing artifact cards. At first this sounds bad, but then we decided that 3 ignition, 3 sancutm, 3 morall, and 2 beagall was just absolutely amazing. After a couple hours of building the deck and carefully choosing cards, here is what we came up with.   Monsters: 14   2 Artifact Beagalltach 3 Artifact Moralltach 3 Geargiarmor 3 Geargiarsenal 3 Geargiaccelerator   Spells: 9 3 Soul Charge 3 Upstart Goblin 3 Artifact Ignition   Traps: 17 3 Vanity's Emptiness 3 Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror 3 Artifact Sanctum 3 Fiendish Chain 2 Dimensional Prison 1 Compulsory Evacuation Device 1 Solemn Warning 1 Bottomless Trap Hole   Side: 3 Chain Disappearance 2 Stygian Dirge 2 Non Fusion Area 2 Breakthrough Skill 1 Dimensional Prison 3 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Dimensional Fissure 1 Ally of Justice Cycle Reader   Overall, there is very little if not anything I would change about the deck. The only thing we talked about wanting to change was possibly finding room in the main deck for wiretaps.   On to Saturday morning, we wake up, shower, and drive to the convention center. I get to borrow the whole deck, thanks TTD for hooking me up with the whole deck and Pierce for buying an extra copy of all the artifacts, just so I could play. After writing my decklist out, Round 1 in sunder way     Round 1: RF Hunter vs Ben Leverett (Shadolls)   Game 1: I see my hand and look at the absolute dankest opening I could've asked for. After seeing this hand I knew that today might be my day. My 5 cards were as follows, Geargiarsenal, Shadow Imprisoning Mirror, Vanity's Emptiness, Solemn Warning, Fiendish Chain. Needles to say the game was over in 3 turns after he couldn't do much with me flip flopping armor for advantage.   Game 2: I open extremely well again. He starts off passively with a set monster and set backrow, and I am pretty sure the game is over. I look at a hand consisting of sanctum, shadow mirror, vanity, and arsenal and realize that i flatout win. When he flips squamata to try and pop my set armor, I have the mirror and he doesn't have MST. The game ends with me putting pressure early with moralltach armor and arsenal.     Round 2 1-0: RF Hunter vs Jordan Nieto (Burning Abyss) Before I start off talking about this match, this was by far the worst Yugioh I played all day. I punted both games away and deserved to lose the round.   Game 1: We grind back and forth, him generating plusses of dante and scarm and myself making a couple gigants. The game simplifies to a state where he is left with nothing but a dante which I castel back, and I have a gigant with 0 materials. He has 2 cards in hand, one of which i know is a graff. I'm at 2700 life points and decided it would be a good idea to soul charge to make an irrelevant gigant and put myself at 700. He draws another BA monsters and makes nightmare shark to shit all over me.   Game 2: I win pretty easily after chain disappearance on tour guide in the early game cripples him to much. I resolve an igniton on beagal and just clock him and get him low before he can really get anything going. The game ends after i compulsory his dante and have lethal on board.   Game 3: I once again decide that it would be a great idea to play terribly. The game is grindy with no one really doing much or attacking each other, until he summons a tour guide. I have a chain disappearance and decide to allow tour guide summon, and respond with chain dis on graff. He had nothing and topped his 3rd and final tour guide to a field of my gigant that made him a dante and then downerd after all of my resources were exhausted. I lost after I drew soul charge as a potential comeback, but he had the vanity to stop it. After this match I really focused on not playing poorly, and told myself that if I want to top I need to play better.   Round 3 1-1: RF Hunter vs Ping Pong bad floater no skill drain.dek   Game 1: I'm playing against Yang Zing, and before the round even starts the guy tells me he doesn't own skill drain.... So I went in pretty confident. I flip sanctum to pop his trap card that he activates at a bad time, and then just attack his monsters with an emptiness face up. He refuses to scoop even though I'm in complete control being plus 5 or 6 the whole game, so I am really worried about time after I finally win game 1, seeing as there is 12 minutes in the round,   Game 2: I castel back his only monster, and resolve a soul charge for 4 to completely blow him out.   Round 4 2-1: RF Hunter vs Golf (Satellar)   Game 1: I win the roll and decide to go first. He opens deneb and searches altair. He goes to attack me and I D prison it. he doesn't have another Deneb the rest of the game so I take it pretty easily after a moralltach hits the board and resolves.   Game 2: He absolutely stomps me affter opening rota set 4, 2 of which were alpha, 1 of which was the call of the haunted. I try to fight back to no avail, and get a little worried about game 3,   Game 3: I don't exactly open well. I have armor and 2 dirges, but my other 2 cards were artifacts. Thankfully he bricks really hard this game. He has 2 Altair opening hand and no deneb, and after I clear them both with a gigant, (dirge was active) he tries to soul charge to stay alive. I have Cycle reader and completely blow him out.   Round 5 3-1: RF Hunter vs Allen Pearl (Spellbook)   Game 1: Playing against this guy was really unpleasant seeing that he was pretty obnoxious about everything, and asked me what artifacts did even though he clearly knew. He went first and opened crescent into secret into blue boy into master into fate and activated tower. With that being said i tried to put up a fight, but when i finally had a big push he had...... Mirror Force......... I laughed it off and was a little worried about the rest of the match.   Game 2: I open pretty well with ignition and bagel, and he opens the nuts once again. I have an armor however, and before I go into this play, I ignition my bagel and chains maxx c to the ignition. I choose not to special summon and he tries to argue that he chained the C on beagal eff before i even set an artifact from my deck. I laugh at him and proceed to prove him wrong where he quotes, "you're down a game I'd be a shark like you if I was too I guess." I proceed to steamroll him because his cards aren't as good as mine.   Game 3: He FINALLY bricks. Thank jesus. He opens set 2 and pass. I open monster heavy which is actually good because i drop him to 1900 by turn 4, and he never sees a combo piece. I was really glad that I won this match because I didn't want to lose to this guy especially.   Round 6 4-1: RF Hunter vs Larry Musgrove (Satellar)   Game 1: So Larry and I are friends and talk all the time at events, but we have only played once to my recollection. I beat him before he started doing well at events, so I was really excited to get to play him again. I won the roll and looked at my hand. 2 Shadow Mirror, Beagalltach and 2 Moralltach. So yeah.... I lost pretty fast.   Game 2: I open Armor breakthrough fiendish and sanctum, and he bricks. Games 1 and 2 end within 5 minutes,   Game 3: He goes first and opens deneb set 4. To my dismay I look at my hand with 3 artifacts and no ignition and slowly see my chances of topping slipping away from me. He absolutely demolishes me with a full house and just normal satellar stuff and it's never even close. I thought I didn't have a chance at topping but obviously stayed in.   Round 7 4-2: RF Hunter vs Brandon Ball (Geargia)   Game 1: Fuck. Exactly the 1 person I didn't want to play. Balls and Pierce had been talking about the deck all week, so our lists were extremely similar. The only difference was that I was playing Artifacts and he was playing hands and card card d, which absolutely wreck the mirror. I manage to win the roll and start strong with armor sanctum. I sanctum his turn 1 arsenal and just put him too low too fast. After he concedes game 1 I start to feel a bit more confident in the match.   Game 2: Not gonna lie I'm pretty sure he outplayed me. He is gaining massive advantage off flipping armor and setting it while I don't see many monsters. I'm kinda foggy so correct me if I'm wrong when you read this Brandon, but I think it ended with me casteling what I thought was his final push, and then stopping a gigant, but the last card in his hand was soul charge to completely blow me out of the game.   Game 3: We are getting really close into time. Besides my game 3 with Jeff in top 8 this was my closest game of the day. We go back and forth and he has complete advantage until I manage to bait his traps out by playing very aggressively. I make a push that he has to answer by putting himself lower than me with soul charge. At this point we are in time, and he has complete control of the game. I realize that I have one out and it is artifact sanctum to keep me alive, since I have a beagal in my backrow. I draw my card, look at it. IT'S A SANCTUM. Wow the Yugigods were really on my side today. He cant kill me on turn 5 of time. I got extremely lucky. Sorry for savaging you balls but it was a great match.   Round 8 5-2: RF Hunter vs Jordan Palmer (Burning Abyss)   Game 1: He wins the roll and chooses to let me go first. I open shadow imprisoning mirror along with sanctum and armor. Needless to say the game is over quickly   Game 2: He let's me go first again for some reason... I once again open mirror sanctum armor and beat him with in a matter of 4.5 minutes. Hate winning that way but it felt great.     At this point I'm not sure if I am going to top. We found out that 4 x-2s were going to make it, and one of my tie breakers was X 1-1 and one was X 2. As they are calling the standings I hear "In 14th place", and then I hear my name. Wow. Finally. I finally broke the bubble. After hearing the news I was ecstatic. My friends were congratulating me and then to my dismay I learned that I played Patrick Hoban in the morning. I honestly wasn't too worried because my deck destroys shadolls, but it certainly was not the person I wanted to play against. We go out to dinner, and 6 of the 9 people we are staying with managed to top 16. Myself, RJ, Dalton, Wigley, Jordan Winters, and James Frazier were all staying in the same house and all topped which I thought was pretty cool. None of us were playing each other first round of top 16 which was also pretty cool. We go to bed around 2, and I wake up at 645, more excited than ever ready to try and run deep in my first top cut ever.     Top 16: RF Hunter vs Patrick Hoban (Shadoll)   Game 1: I win the roll and look at my hand, and just like my round 1 hand against Ben, I opne absolutely godly. Arsenal, shadow mirror, vanity, and fiendish. He tries to fight back but my opening is too good.   Game 2: He starts off with just a set monster and nothing else. I open arsenal 2 armor and 3 traps, so it wasn't that bad, but it certainly wasn't ideal. I summon armor and attack into his monster, which turned out to be shadoll dragon, bouncing my armor to hand. I set my traps and end. He summons lyla, and pops my non fusion area, and then has 2 MSTs if I remember correctly for my other back rows. I get blown out by an mst on my freshly topdecked shadow mirror when he has a falcon and goyo to my arsenal and equipped rhapsody. He makes castel and bounces , summons white dragon and wipes out my remaining 5100 life points.   Game 3: I open hot once again. Armor vanity ignition fiendish sanctum. I'm fairly confident. He summons lyla, I sanctum morall pop his lyla. On my turn I flip armor for arsenal, summon it and wing for 5100, tribute arsenal into an armor, and oh yeah. I drew shadow mirror for turn :) At this point I realize I am going to win the game. He actually almost comes back with a lyla after clearing my other backrows, vut hits my ignition instead of my shadow mirror. On my turn I castel his only monster and swing for game. Wow, first time topping and I beat Hoban in top 16 after him going 19 and 0 with shadolls in tournament previously. I was really hyped at this point, but knew that it wouldn't be easy because of who I had to play in top 8.   Top 8: RF Hunter vs Jeff Jones (Burning Abyss with trap stun)   Game 1: I see his decklist and I am not very excited. His 3 trap stuns shit on my floodgates and I worry a little. I worry even more when I see my opening hand of arsenal bottomless armor and 2 beagaltach. Thankfully he opens absolutely unplayable. A funny moment in this game is when I flipped my armor to add accel, and he responded with mind crush, calling "geargiarsenal." He immediately realized he said the wrong card, but fortunately for him I actually did have acopy of geargiarsenal in my hand. We laughed about it but he ended up scooping after seeing his draw.   Game 2: He opens very well and outpaces me quickly with his dicard traps and burning abyss effects. This game is over quickly.   Game 3: This was by far the closest match of my tournament, and it was such a shame knowing that I could've won it had I played correctly. we grind for about 5 turns, until I bait out a wingblast with gigant, and a raigeki break with castel. I then soul charge for the 3 monsters in my grave. At this point he had 3 cards in hand and an alucard. I have nothing but a set morall which he knows about in my backrow, and make double gigant. In his turn he sets a monster and trap, makes downerd and passes. Here is where I messed up. I use both gigants, getting 2 accel, and summon an arsenal and both accel. I xyz into the 3rd gigant, get accel, and make honor ark. In hindsight, honor ark was incorrect. I'm pretty sure I won this game if i made cairngorgon and attacked my gigant into his downerd to make it lose a material, and then attack over downerd with gorgon. Instead he makes a dante that kills a gigant after surviving because I upstarted him twice. He xyz into downerd and sets anothe backrow. I now remember that i can make downerd lose attack, so I attack gigant into downerd, when i couldve just attacked ark and lost a material. I was really on tilt and playing poorly because I was nervous. I had a wingblast for my gigant attack and had vanity and trap stun for the sanctums I drew to try and play out of it. I then draw dead and extend the handshake. It was a great match that I fully was capable of winning, but he deserved it more than me so congrats to him for winning the whole event.     Overall this was a great weekend, and it was great to finally top. I hope that I can continue topping in the future, and will definitely try whatever it takes to keep it up!   Shoutouts: Pierce Crawley for not only being a great testing partner and deck builder, but for also being a great friend. You cheering me on all day really helped boost my confidence in my play and the deck. Parker Roberson for being hilarious as always and letting me stay over Brandon Ball for helping Pierce with the list and rooting for me even after I savaged him in swiss. Also for helping me with side deck options in top cut. I want a competitive tournament deck, but since I just started I really lack the expertise to make any kind of informed decision.   Does it come down to preference at this point or is there something that I am missing? Thanks in advance!
6. Geargia deck for National

Hi everyone. I need some help/fix for my deck i wanna use for Polish National on May 31/June 1. It propably be "small" Nationals [~80 players max IMO], so i wanna get some good result. I can expect some Madolche, Geargia, Bujin, Ruler, Evil and Artifact-something deck[some-> max 5], and many of T2/rouge decks. Here's my decklist: M: 3x Armor 3x Arsenal 3x Accelerator 3x MK II 1x Giano 1x Rai-Oh S: 3x MST 3x Upstart 1x BoM 1x DH T: 3x Gear 3x BTS 2x Prison 2x Black Horn 2x Trap Stun 1x BTH 1x CED 1x CotH 1x Warning 1x 7tool 1x TT   Extra: 3x Gigant X 1x Dweller 1x Emeral 1x Exciton 1x Dire Wolf 1x Cowboy 1x Alucard 1x Maestroke 1x S H ARK 1x Golem 1x Corn 1x Crazy Box 1x Zenmaines   Don't look at side deck too much- i rebuild it at least once per day cause of testing it. So i have some problems/dilemmas here. - Before PRIO i played 3 MST and 3 Dust in main, it was awesome, now i totally dont know what's better- Dust's or Trap Stun & 7tools[3/0, 2/1 or other combination]. I don't wanna abandon both option, i need some protection from backrow, 3 MST is not enough for me. - Should i still play Horns now? Or it would be better to change it for something else? - Needle Ceiling. I love this card. I rly wanna play it in main deck in at least 2 copies[for madolche, rulers, any agrro decks], but i dont know how to make space for them. Horns out? - Sometimes i wanna play Giga Briliant cause it would be enough for winning, but extra have not enough space. And i rly don't wanna remove any rank 3 now. Golem won many games for me, Alucard $ Zenmaines its must have[but zenmaines its my 1st candidate to cut off no]. The same problem with SoSM, i wanna to play it, cannot find space. - Side deck- Still have no idea how to build as good as possible side vs so many rouge decks, with enough option for "main decks" on national [repeat: Madolche, Geargia, Bujin, Ruler, Evil and Artifact-something decks] to make me feel comfortable. Any ideas and fix? Thanks for any help:) PS, sry for language mistakes. My english isn't fluent
7. Geargia for YCS Philly

Deck List: 40 Monsters: 13 3x Geargiaccelerator 1x Geargiano 3x Geargiano Mk-II 3x Geargiarmor 3x Geargiarsenal Spells: 9 1x Book of Moon 1x Dark Hole 3x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Soul Charge 3x Upstart Goblin Traps: 18 2x Black Horn of Heaven 1x Bottomless Trap Hole 2x Call of the Haunted 1x Compulsory Evacuation Device 2x Fiendish Chain 3x Geargiagear 2x Mirror Force 1x Solemn Warning 1x Torrential Tribute 3x Wiretap Extra Deck: 15 1x Abyss Dweller 1x Daigusto Emeral 1x Evilswarm Exciton Knight 3x Gear Gigant X 1x Ghostrick Alucard 1x Maestroke the Symphony Djinn 1x Number 101: Silent Honor ARK 1x Number 103: Ragnazero 1x Number 20: Giga-Brilliant 1x Number 80: Rhapsody in Berserk 1x Soul of Silvermountain 1x Temtempo the Percussion Djinn 1x Wind-Up Zenmaines Side Deck: 15 1x Ally of Justice Cycle Reader 2x D.D. Crow 2x Maxx "C" 1x Dimensional Fissure 1x Mind Control 2x Breakthrough Skill 2x DNA Surgery 1x Macro Cosmos 2x Mind Crush 1x Soul Drain   Hey DGZ! As the name implies, this is the deck that I intend to play with at YCS Philly next weekend. However, I'm aware that this isn't as good as it can be. I've been a little out of touch lately with the latest techs and strategies for the post-PRIO format, so I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to be doing to prepare for it other than expect the obvious increase in play of Scraps and Madolches, as well as the introduction of Artifacts. My main concern is with the Side Deck, which is constantly changing. What are the best cards to side for this event? Overall though, I believe that every aspect of the deck could be improved to some extent. So please, give me any constructive criticisms that you may have, and I'll do my best to either replicate the advice, or explain to you why I choose not to make that decision. Thanks for reading!
8. geargia decklist

Tournament on saturday, i've been testin a lot but keep changing my my mind so would like some help with the deck, I'm expecting the mirror a lot as you can see since it's probably the best deck.
9. Bubbling YCS Vegas xD

So just to start off, this event was my very first "premier event". I haven't been able to attend events like YCS San Diego, San Mateo, and ARG Vegas because of the fierce opposition my parents hold against my participation in this game. A month before this new format began, my friends and I started playing Pure Geargia after watching people like Pedigo, Marcus, and Brandon Balls just methodically destroy everybody on the upper tiers of the DN ladder ( Although I will concede that this isn't a really good indicator of how strong a deck is, it was obvious that it was on an extremely high level). So flash forward to two weeks before the event, I found out I may have a chance of going to the YCS, which really excited me. And what ended up happening, which is actually quite humorous, is that I was given approval to go to Vegas to attend a few concerts, get fucked up ( obviously didn't tell them this) and everything else when I'm only 19 years old, but I can't go play a children's card game. LOL. Yea, makes total sense right? So we leave on a Friday morning with a bunch of good friends of mine and get there in the afternoon. We stayed off the strip at a Marriot. We go to pre-registration and a good friend of mine, Edward, and I decide to play the exact same list. Unfortunately, I turned in my little registration sheet before my deck list as I had second thoughts so I had to wait till the morning. I wake up around 5 or 6 in the morning and hop on my laptop to go on DN and with the suggestion of a friend I chose to significantly change my list. I tried to contact Ed to do the same but I couldn't reach him in time xD.   This was the list.   Card choices: Just wanted to take a very brief moment to explain a few things that were not as standard in most lists/ changes I would make. Trap trix traphole nightmare: This card was essentially just another copy of horn against the mirror, except for a few interactions where your opponent knew what they were doing with cards like tem tempo and activated them in the damage step to dodge this. Also, traptrixing an armor off arsenal and can be back breaking. It also had the added benefit of being significantly better against water than horn as you could stop teus drops, granted that they didn't pitch gunde and order it in a specific way if they saw the card in your deck. Also other things like stopping pike off sphere -> linde, leed discard, and most things out of damage step. Obviously I wouldn't keep it in vs water post board as it was still considered subpar like horn is. But in conclusion, having 6 horns in my deck made me very confident in the 4 mirrors I played. Tools vs Dust: This is something that I debated with friends for a good long while and ultimately I came to the decision of playing 2 dust and 1 tools, a decision I regret. I made the mistake of giving decks like fire fist and buijin too much thought in respect to cards like tenki, kaiser, etc. when my side board was already ready to combat them efficiently. Those matchups are not as real as the mirror and I wish I played the full 3 copies in the main deck. Going into an event like this where geargia and water are the front runners, I would have much rather played something as precise as tools in stopping cards like horn, torrential, ceiling etc. Imperial Iron wall: We decided to max out on this card so we would have some sort of hard counter for welch/loli rulers as that matchup is actually quite difficult, and since we couldn't play zombie world, this was the next best thing. Also planned to side this against stuff like justice books which is a god awful matchup as well as some random things. Although i played neither of these decks I would 100% side it again. I'm sure there are a few other things, but they are much more minute, like #17, I just wanted a generic beater that I could make in a simplified game state with mark 2 that gets around a teus wall, megalo, etc. Sorry for the wall of text but I felt it was necessary leading up to the actual report. And sorry to any of my opponents if anything is off I don't remember all the details.   Round 1: Hieratic Rulers Lost Dice roll Game 1: Guy opens up dragon shrine into wyvern and banishes redmd. He sets 3 or 4 rows and ends his turn. I set armor, fiendish chain, and something I don't remember. On his turn he plays upstart goblin, plays double reckless, and shrines for labro and blaster. He goes through a hieratic combo and I'm forced to use my fiendish on a su after he targets it. He scraps my armor and proceeds to put over 10k on board and I scoop. Game 2: I open pretty well with armor, soul drain, Maxx "C", and a few other gear monsters. He also draws double reckless this game which is pretty ridiculous but I manage to grind him out since he played pretty poorly. Game 3: He opens atum dracossack combo with two sets. Im in terrible shape with mark 2, geargiano, bottomless, soul drain, typhoon, and horn. I summon mark 2 and I held typhoon in hand in case of drain/fiendish and he "oked" the effect and I dropped the geargiano from my hand. Since I saw horn g2, I made the decision to blind one of his backrows and I hit a reckless greed -.-. I make temtempo and set both my rows and hope that I can somehow grind it out but he flips another reckless greed in my EP. At this point I'm either just a victim of stacking ( doubt it) or just to ridiculous variance out of my control. So I obviously lose this one. Match Record: 0-1   Round 2: Samurai (lol) Won Roll Game 1: I open 2 armors, traptrix, compulsory, typhoon, and MK-2. I set the armor and the rows and pass to him. He draws and rota's for kagemusha, plays united, and summons kageki and kagemusha. I typhoon his united and he thinks for a while. In my head Im thinking that I have to burn both my traps to out the shien but he ends up making naturia beast lmao. He passes his turn and I compulsory him. On my turn I make a gigant and set another armor and he draws for his turn and concedes. Game 2: He goes first and opens united with Irou and Grandmaster. He draws his two cards off united and sets three backrows. I open arsenal, accel, geargiagear, maxx c, typhoon, and black horn. I drop arsenal, special accel, then try to make exciton after putting geargiano into the grave, but he horns me. I set 3 backrows and pass. On his turn he just swings with both monsters and passes. I GGG in his EP and draw a card I dont remember. I make a Gigant, he fiendishes it on the effect, I typhoon, and grab mark 2 from gy. I make a soul of silver and lock his remaining backrow swing over both his monsters and set armor to end my turn. He draws and rotas for kizan. When he tries to make exciton knight, I horn it, and he offers me the handshake and shows his frozen backrow as mirror force. Match Record: 1-1   Round 3: Fire Kings Lost the dice roll. Game 1: He opens with a barong and two back rows. I drew quite a shitty hand here comprised of like 2 MK-2's, a geargiano, geargiano, and some irrelevant backrow. I try to make a leviathan and swing but he flips mirror force. I end up losing this game after a few more turns, but I saw him play 3 bears, 2 gorillas, veilers, and a boar. Game 2: I drew a pretty good hand but I realized I forgot to side out my lone traptrix which was rather unfortunate. I set armor, traptrix, dust, fiendish, horn, geargiagear. He onslaughts for the big chicken and elects not to attack, sets a couple backrows. I chose not to geargiagear here even though I had traptrix because I saw lance game 1. He revives garanix, I traptrix and he has to read it. He shakes his head and puts it back into the graveyard. I flip armor and he fiendish chains it, I dust and search for accel. I make a gigant and trigger it, he has no response, and then I chain geargiagear and search another accel. After some degenerate plays I alucard his mirror force and kill him. Traptrix ftw. Game 3: He opens pretty weak with two set rows a gorilla and passes. I open 2x arsenal, fiendish , typhoon, unknown, and TT. I summon arsenal and he veilers it. I set all my rows and pass. On his turn he summons a veiler and makes armades. I TT for the huge value and he passes. I draw d.fissure for turn. I typhoon his last set from t1 and he chains his own typhoon on my set I forgot. I activate fissure and summon arsenal and swing and set armor. He draws for turn and shows me another veiler, and like circle and some other garbage. Sorry dude, that's what happens when u mis side XD. Match Record 2-1   Round 4: Mirror Lost dice roll As he's shuffling his own deck he unknowingly flashes me a geargiarsenal. Game 1: He starts with a set monster and like three backrows. I drew mind control, typhoon, accel, horn, armor, and my own armor. I mind controlled his armor and flipped to his fiendish chain, which I typhooned. I searched another accel and made a gigant and he lost from there as he lost pretty much everything. Game 2: This game neither of us opened geargiagear but I ended up grinding him out with alucard and temtempo shenanigans. Match Record 3-1   Round 5: Mirror vs Jeffrey Cho ( Top 16 finish) Don't remember who won roll here, think it was him Game 1: He started with a set monster and 4 backrow. I open 2x arsenal, compulsory, typhoon, seven tools, and MK2. I arsenal into armor and set my S/T and he flips Geargiagear in the EP. He flips armor and searches for accel. He summons gigant and I allow it since I have to compulse the incoming alucard so I have a chance to make a comeback in this game. I get a little frustrated as his second turn takes 6 minutes to play with the nuts. When he makes alucard I compulsory it and he swings with his gigant's and I search accel. I have tools and typhoon to cover my push but when I summon arsenal he books it ( tears). Scooped the cards. I was pretty frustrated and I told him if he could play faster next time. Game 2: I don't remember too much about this game but we start going back and forth at each other till the point where I have a mind control and armor in hand to his set armor and no backrows??? All I know is that mind control is fucking bonkers and I win this game. Game 3: This mirror is really aids but we start grinding back and forth but I have the distinct advantage. He has two sets that have been down since his first turn and all Im doing is flipping armor and beating him down with two Mk-2's. I have the actual literal stones in my backrows. The next phase of the duel i remember is that he has 4 set and draws to 5 cards total. He sets a final row and passes. I flip armor once again and grab something. I smack him with everything to put him pretty low and set armor again. In the EP he GGGs, I warn, and he tools me. He goes to summon gigant , I play horn and he tools. When he triggers the effect I traptrix him and he smiles and nods his head. Next turn I beat him down for game. His other two cards fd were horn and book of moon. He commented after the match that I was bad mannered game 1, but I explained to him that I was pretty frustrated that he took so long to play out armor + gear. He understood my frustration and we got to talking about the deck and how well we both played. He was a very pleasant opponent and I was glad that he was able to go undefeated to top after our match. I believe he also told me he topped the last YCS Toronto. He jinxed me by saying I would top though xD. Match Record 4-1   Round 6: Hieratic Rulers ( Michael Balan) Won dice roll Game 1: I open Armor, Geargiagear, two typhoons, mind control, and a dust. Pretty fucking good. I set everything but the mind control and pass. He specials tefnuit and summons guard. I look at my field in despair and scoop without showing him anything. Game 2: I open MK2, warning, compulse, 2 horns, and fiendish chain. I set everything but MK2 and fiendish chain. He starts grinding through my back rows with cards like star eater, leo, dracossack. I draw my armors and my engine much too late and by this time he also has infinite backrows that consist of drain and horns and I lose because dracossack is a good ygo card. Match Record:4-2   Round 7: Mirror match ( plays two tuners) Won dice roll Game 1: I open armor and a bunch of back rows. I really don't remember much about this game except that he veilered me like twice but it didn't matter since he didn't have much of an engine and I accumulated too much advantage. Game 2: He opens armor gear and I don't open enough defensive cards to stop his push. He puts watchdog on board and I decide to typhoon his farthest set which was pretty decently curved and it turned out to be an ultimate warning. He makes a stardust and a gigant which I fiendish. He makes another one and I'm under a lot of pressure. On my turn I go for a 101 with a freshly drawn torrential, he veilers it when I try to take stardust and I scoop my cards. Game 3: I open pretty well and I grind through what it seems like another infinite veilers. But since he had no monsters to pressure me with he quickly lost. Veiler sucks!!!!!! Match Record: 5-2   Round 8: Buijin Don't remember who won. We chat up a bit before the round and we talk about our breakers and I have the better ones by far. He was a very nice opponent. Game 1: He plays multiple gyokuus on my backrows and tries to stall me with a kaiser and a fiendish bear with like no relics in the graveyard. We go back and forth a bit and I keep making gigants that forced his cranes which just resulted in me just spamming gigants. Eventually I resolved a huge exciton knight and he was top decking to my 3 cards and I won. Game 2: We have ten minutes left in the round and I elect not to side out my upstarts ( which was a mistake) This game was heavily in my favor after I forced a blind crush with alucard. When I went to discard one out of two cards in his hand he showed me that he had yamato and crane in his hand. He quickly realized his mistake and started shuffling his hand. It was too late for him as I saw that his yamato was insanely curved and I just sniped it out of his hand. We eventually go into time and the upstarts screwed me over to where I had to hope he didn't draw a monster to put me under, but this guy drew a crane off the top and swung at my weaker guy. So technically we should have tied but he knew that it was pretty much impossible for an x-2-1 to top and he knew who had the better breakers so he signed the slip and wished me luck. Really fucking awesome dude. Match Record 6-2   Round 9: Mirror vs David ( a friend) Was pretty dumb that I had to play vs a friend from locals at the end of day 1 =/ Won dice roll Game 1: I open really ridiculous like armor, black horn, mind control, and some other traps. He opens decent but mind control is just a fucking broken card and I end up putting game damage on board with gigant, 101, and brilliant on board when he already took damage from something I dont remember. Game 2: Neither of us open geargiagear or arsenal/armor and we just grind each other with mark 2s and accelerators and it gets really awkward where I have to fiendish his accel to prevent my accel dying with no targets in grave and I eventually end up scooping. Game 3: I open double armor, accel, dark hole, bottomless, gear. I make a gigant and readd accel and set both the traps. On his turn he double typhoons my cards and summons two lvl 4s and exciton knights me. But he doesnt set any backrows so his hand is just brown town. On my turn I make another gigant and swing at exciton and then search in mp2. I forget what happened afterwards but I end up winning and knocked out a friend which is just the worst feeling. Match Record 7-2 So I ended up making day 2 at 56th place. We leave the convention center and get food on our way back to the hotel and I chat up with some friends on DN before going to bed. I wake up the next morning around 7ish and grab some breakfast before heading out. We get inside the center around 8:45ish and pairings go up. Round 10: Dark world ( Noberto Leon) Game 1: I go first and set armor typhoon and 1 other set I can't remember. He summons beige sets 3 and dragged downs me. It was a grapha in his hand and he elects to pop one of my set backrows. He knows what I'm playing so this screams that he has a deck dev face down. He picks the typhoon and I pray to god that I hit it but I miss. He summons grapha and in my standby he ddvs me for 4 and I lose to a top decked tour guide next turn. Game 2: I open fissure and 3 backrows and I elect not to summon arsenal since my only decent defensive card is a torrent. He draws and sets two and passes. I figure his hand is weak and I summon arsenal swing and set armor. On my EP he typhoons my fissure then full houses my typhoon, torrent, and some other card I can't remember. At this moment, I'm thinking it's all over for me, But my read was correct and his hand was weak and on his turn he just sets a couple more backrow. I start flipping armors and he can't answer them in multiples. Later in the game I end up searching a MK-2 with armor, the last one in deck as I resolved a gear earlier. He crushes it but he doesn't get to see my hand. I have 2 accels in my hand and he has backrows that have been there for quite a while. On my next turn I flip armor but elect to grab geargiano instead of the last accel incase of another crush. And of course this guy flips it and I show him my hand and he ends up conceding a short while after. Fuck bob saget 4 real. Game 3: He opens and grimaces and says his hand is weak and sets a bunch of cards and dragged downs with just a broww in hand. He takes an armor out of my hand and draws into pretty good cards as he flips an allure and then plays another dragged down revealing snoww and grapha. I have to give him the snoww search and pray he doesn't have a way to deck dev me. Picking snoww decreases his chances of summoning grapha as he has to draw a dark world monster with gates. He draws for gates and drew a beige!!!! he summons grapha and passes. I'm so nervous at this point since I have armor, arsenal, geargiano, overworked, warning. and if he has deckdev Im in a terrible spot. I draw accel for turn and he doesnt deck dev me or crush me. THANK JESUS. He realizes that he has to summon beige from last turn from a dealings or something I dont remember and its mandatory so it's cool. So I summon geargiano and he allows it, I special armor and he lets it go. I special accel. and he thinks for a while before playing torrential. So he has no horn or drain to save his ass from an exciton. I was quite ok with that trade off and set everything I had and passed. He plays gates for snow and searches another snoww. He summons it and I warning it. He sets a back row and passes. I draw geargiagear for turn. I set armor and geargiagear and pass. He plays reckless on his turn and starts playing dealings with no dark worlds in hand and pitches shit like dragged down. Eventually he elects to pass after setting another. His dealings got me cards like fiendish and Maxx "C". I flip geargiagear and he has no response. When I flip armor he drains me. I overlay the two little guys for crazy box and swing with both. He reckless greed again and starts going off and I believe he pops my crazy box with another discarded grapha. He summons beige, I maxx "C", and returns for grapha and tries to swing. I fiendish chain and he typhoons and I fiendish again. On my turn I draw another maxx "C" and put armor to defense and pass He summons another grapha next turn and I draw bottomless for Maxx "C" swings. I draw coth for turn and set both cards and pass. We go into time and he swings with a grapha to put me at very low life points but I call for crazy box! In mp2 he overlays for franken and I bottomless it. He sets a monster and passes. I draw arsenal and summon it. I swing into his set trance which adds back a banished grapha ( from a previous gates I believe) Then when i try to swing for game with crazy box, he flips mind crush. Im about to tell him that I have no cards in hand, but the judge steps in and says he can't play it. He looks down for a bit and shakes his head and concedes. Idk if he was trying to cheat me or something, but I'm sure someone like him should know shit like that. He was pretty nice though. GG FUCK DARK WORLD BEEE Match Record 8-2   Round 11: Robert Boyajian I go up to the pairings and wish robby good luck as we are both on the bubble but he's like "I'm not sure you wanna do that man" "Were playing each other".   -________________________- As we go to sit down at table 10 and draw for our first game, a judge tells us our match will be featured. That was unfortunate as I drew the stones too xD https://yugiohblog.konami.com/?p=17238 So ya, I got steam rolled and crushed on the bubble. But I wasn't really that upset because it was to a friend that is insanely good.   In conclusion, I really enjoyed my first YCS and hopefully I can have a better showing at the next one I attend.   Props: +Was very pleasant meeting all the dgzers + Las Vegas buffets are broken + Having a great time with all the homies + Having a lot of people helping me out with everything. There's so many people to name I can't list them all. You guys know who you are!!! Cons: - Drive back home was filled with traffic - Having the runs - Being exhausted and looking like shit - bubbling out along with a lot of my friends - Dark world   Thanks for reading guys!!
10.   -[ Introduction ]-   Geargias were released in Return of the Duelist (August 2012) giving further support to it's lone card, Geargiano (released in GenForce) and received later support in Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy. They are a machine-swarming based archetype, all level 3 and 4, and are mainly used to support the already existing machine decks such as Machina and Karakuri. Having a very aggressive playstyle, they excel in OTKing in the Karakuri variant and having an excellent grind and control game in the Machina variant.     After their debut in YCS Toronto 2012 with an exceptional showing, they did not manage to get their win despite being very hyped and represented. They eventually got their win during YCS Providence (karakuri variant) and eventually fell of the radar once Mermails came around as marksman would make resolving armor almost impossible. With the addition of Geargiagear and all it's previous competitors getting weakened, Geargias are looking like a promising choice leading up to LVAL where they will receive another piece of support in the form of Geargiauger. Geargiauger is thought to break Geargias with it's amazing applications with Machine Duplication and accelerator.    -[ The Monsters ]-   The Geargias     Geargiarmor Earth/4/Machine 1100 ATK 1900 DEF    Once per turn: You can change this card to face-down Defense Position. When this card is flipped face-up: You can add 1 "Geargia" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Geargiarmor"  - Arguably the heart and soul of the deck. Armor is what gets the deck rolling, and if it manages to stay on the field for a few turns, it'll be a very one sided duel. The ability to reset himself is huge and what makes armor so unique, along with his massive 1900 ass.        Geargiarsenal Earth/4/Machine 1500 ATK 500 DEF    This card gains 200 ATK for each face-up "Geargia" monster you control. You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Geargia" monster from your Deck, except "Geargiarsenal", in face-up Defense Position.  - The main job of this guy is to get to Geargiarmor while also having a decent body. He gains 200 for each Geargia monster you control (including himself) and can get really big if you need to ram him into Thunder King or any problem card. He also does really cute plays to getting tuners, which will be discussed later.        Geargiaccelerator Earth/4/Machine 1400 ATK 800 DEF   If you control a "Geargia" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in face-up Defense Position. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Geargia" monster in your Graveyard, except "Geargiaccelerator"; add that target to your hand. - The themed Kizan of the deck. His ability to special summon himself instantly is what allows for the insane XYZ and Synchro plays. His second effect is also nothing to look past, the ability to bluff Armor mid/late game to bait dark holes and grab a Geargia back is amazing.         Geargiano Earth/3/Machine 500 ATK 1000 DEF   You can Tribute this card, then target 1 Level 4 Machine-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, but its effects are negated. - Originally the underdog of the archetype, his effect to bring out a level 4 machine-type monster wasn't very good but with the release of Geargiagear, this card must be run. He also helps with great comeback plays, and is vital for the combos.       Geargiano MK-II Earth/3/Machine 1000 ATK 500 DEF   When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Geargia" monster from your hand or Graveyard in face-up Defense Position. - The "Tour Guide" of the deck, he's used to further extend the karakuri combos, and is used for Geargiagear. His ability to revive arsenal/himself/Geargiano for rank 3 plays is great, and his ability to revive Armor is clutch. Using this card mid game with a Geargiano and Watchdog in grave can lead to 1 card level 7 synchro plays, including the game changing Black Rose Dragon.       The Tuners        Genex Ally Birdman Dark/3/Machine 1400 ATK 400 DEF   You can return 1 face-up monster you control to the hand to Special Summon this card from your hand, and this card gains 500 ATK if it was a WIND monster you returned. If this card is Special Summoned this way, remove it from play when it is removed from the field. - Almost as if it was made for Geargias, Birdman works amazingly well with Accellerator, being able to go off faster and without the use of your normal summon is fantastic. He is dark, so be weary if you aim to side Gozen Match.         Karakuri Strategist mdl 248 "Nishipachi" Earth/3/Machine 500 ATK 1600 DEF   This card must attack if able. When this face-up Attack Position card is selected as an attack target, change it to Defense Position. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, select 1 monster on the field and change its battle position. - The level 3 Karakuri Tuner, used primarily for comboing and his interaction with flipping Geargiamor face up for free searches.          Karakuri Watchdog mdl 313 "Saizan" Earth/4/Machine 600 ATK 1800 DEF    This card must attack if able. When this face-up card on the field is selected as an attack target, change its Battle Position. When you take Battle Damage from a battle involving this card, all face-up "Karakuri" monsters you control gain 800 ATK and DEF until the End Phase. While this card is in face-up Attack Position, it cannot be destroyed by battle. - The level 4 Karakuri Tuner, drawing multiples is the worst feeling ever but bluffing it as armor is very crucial at times. Can obviously be used to XYZ rather than Synchro if needed, and has a cute interaction with Geargiano.         The Machinas       Machina Gearframe Earth/4/Machine 1800 ATK 0 DEF   When this card is Normal Summoned, you can add 1 "Machina" monster, except "Machina Gearframe", from your Deck to your hand. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a Machine-Type monster you control as an Equip Card, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. (A monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.) - Stratos of the Machina build, used in order to search for your boss monster Fortress, and searchable off Gear Gigant X.       Machina Fortress Earth/7/Machine 2500 ATK 1600 DEF   You can discard Machine-Type monster(s) whose total Levels equal 8 or more, then Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard). When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target. Before resolving an opponent's monster effect that targets this face-up card, look at your opponent's hand and discard 1 card from their hand. - Probably one of the most annoying cards to get rid of, putting him on board almost gaurentees that your opponent will minus trying to get over him. With a solid 2500 attack and being level 7, Fortress is an amazing card.       Miscellaneous       Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders Earth/7/Dragon 1600 ATK 3000 DEF   If this card is in your hand or Graveyard: You can banish a total of 2 EARTH and/or Dragon-Type monsters from your hand and/or Graveyard, except this card; Special Summon this card. During your opponent's End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned: Return it to the hand. You can discard this card and 1 EARTH monster to the Graveyard, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. If this card is banished: You can add 1 EARTH Dragon-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 "Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders" effect per turn, and only once that turn. - This is to Geargias as Tidal is to Mermails. Having this card at the right time can just take you so far ahead of your opponent in the grind game with the ability to use the 1 card MK-II plays with him to make quick rank 7s. His 3000 ass is incredibly difficult to get over, and can stall mid to late game to draw some outs.           -[ The Spells ]-   As of now there is no direct Geargia spell support. None the less we have plenty of options that we can utilise where other decks cannot.       Limiter Removal Quick Play   Double the ATK of all Machine-Type monsters you controlled at both the activation and resolution of this card, until the End Phase. During the End Phase, destroy those monsters - The most obvious choice in machine decks, this card sees more play in the Machina build considering it's very easy to steal a game with Gearframe and Fortress backed with this card. It's considered winmore in the Karakuri version since all your monsters are already huge and once you combo off, it's usually game anyways.         Iron Call Normal    If you control a Machine-Type monster: Target 1 Level 4 or lower Machine-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. Its effects are negated. Destroy it during the End Phase. - Good tech that is used to reborn a combo piece to keep comboing off, or just to get a monster for an XYZ.   Other Spell cards to think about   Consistency Pot of Duality Upstart Goblin   Disruption Book of Moon Mind Control   Destruction Mystical Space Typhoon Dark Hole   Protection Forbidden Lance   - [ The Traps ]-       GeargiaGear Normal   Special Summon 2 "Geargiano" monsters from your Deck and increase their Levels by 1. You can only activate 1 "Geargiagear" per turn. - This card is what takes Geargia over the top; an instant XYZ card, you're gaurenteed to gain some sort of advantage off of it, either from your GGX or through GGX's second effect when it leaves the field. Can be dead sometimes, but can be easily made live with the use of Daigusto Emeral.        Call of the Haunted Continuous    Activate this card by targeting 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Attack Position. When this card leaves the field, destroy that target. When that target is destroyed, destroy this card. - Being able to revive a lost Armor during the end phase and then continuing off with your plays is huge. Can also be used defensively, and if chained to MST targetting Accelerator can net you a free plus.      Other Trap cards to think about   Against Summons Bottomless Trap Hole Torrential Tribute Solemn Warning Black Horn of Heaven   Against Attacks Mirror Force Dimensional Prison   Against Spell/Traps Trap Stun Seven Tools of the Bandit Dust Tornado   Other Compulsory Evacuation Device Fiendish Chain     -[ The Extra Deck ]-   Rank 4s     Gear Gigant X Earth/4/Machine 2300 ATK 1500 DEF   2 Level 4 Machine Type Monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; add 1 Level 4 or lower Machine-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. When this card leaves the field: You can target 1 Level 3 or lower "Geargia" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. - The themed XYZ for this archetype, searches ANY machine (level 4 and lower) from your deck or graveyard. This is critical in the Machina variant and is used in the Karakuri variant to search for a tuner to go off or to recycle Accelerators and MK-IIs. When he leaves the field, he floats for a level 3 geargia monster which is usually Geargiano for his ability to recruit into a level 4 geargia/tuner.        Daigusto Emeral Wind/4/Rock 1800 ATK 800 DEF   2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects. ● Target 3 monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle all 3 into the Deck, then draw 1 card. ● Target 1 non-Effect Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. - Amazing mid to late game since Geargias can load up the graveyard with ease. Being able to put Geargianos into the deck to make Geargiagears live is incredible.   Other Rank 4s to think about                       Rank 3s       Wind-Up Zenmaines Fire/3/Machine 1500 ATK 2100 DEF   2 Level 3 monsters If this face-up card on the field would be destroyed, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card instead. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this effect was used this turn: Target 1 card on the field; destroy it. - Staple rank 3 to sit behind if you need to stall. Goes nice with scrap dragon.       Soul of Silver Mountain Earth/3/Rock 1800 ATK 2200 DEF   2 Level 3 EARTH monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 Set card in your opponent's Spell & Trap Card Zone; it cannot be activated while this card is face-up on the field. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle while it has Xyz Material: You can target 1 EARTH monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position. - Its first effect is useful in locking down backrow allowing you to push a play through. Its second effect is helpful to bring back fallen armors and allows to gain momentum in a simplified game state.    Other Rank 3s to think about Mecha Quipped Angineer Giga Brilliant Temtempo Leviair the Sea Dragon Rank 7s   Being able to make multiple level 7 synchros a turn paired with redox and call of the haunted leads to the ability to make rank 7s consistently. Geargia can churn out a rank 7 pretty much every game if you need to.       Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack Wind/7/Machine 2600 ATK 2200 DEF   2 Level 7 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 2 "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 3/ATK 0/DEF 0). While you control a Token, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Once per turn: You can Tribute 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster, then target 1 card on the field; destroy that target. This card cannot attack during the turn you activate this effect. - We all know how good this is. When you combo off with birdman you can end with this and scrap dragon for free scrap dragon food and 2 pops a turn.       Number 11: Big Eye Dark/7/Spellcaster 2600 ATK 2000 DEF   2 Level 7 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 monster your opponent controls; take control of that monster. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect. - Used to steal threats or to limit your opponents plays. If you synchro'd burei and went into this card you could potentially synchro with the tuner you brought out and the monster you steal.       The Synchros       Karakuri Shogun mdl 00 "Burei" Earth/7/Machine 2600 ATK 1900 DEF   1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Machine-Type monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Karakuri" monster from your Deck. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field; change its battle position. - The most used Extra deck monster, he is what enables the combos and his ability to change battle positions can steal games. Being level 7 leads to Rank 7 plays with either another copy of itself or Redox.        Karakuri Steel Shogun mdl 00X "Bureido" Earth/8/Machine 2800 ATK 1700 DEF   1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Machine-Type monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Karakuri" monster from your Deck. Once per turn, when the battle position of a face-up "Karakuri" monster you control is changed (and remains face-up): Draw 1 card. - A huge body with a great effect that can lead you to draw many cards in a stalled gamestate.    Other Synchros to think about            -[ The Side Deck ]-   One of the best thing about Geargia is the fact that it has the versatility to side into many hate cards without hurting it's engine, and even main the hate cards if needed to win a YCS! It isn't very graveyard oriented, and they are all the same type/attribute which is perfect for side decking.     Dimensional Fissure Macro Cosmos Imperial Iron Wall Gozen Match Rivalry of the Warlords DNA Surgery Light-Imprisoning Mirror Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror Overworked     -[ Combos and OTKs ]-     Now the best part about Geargias is it's ability to OTK with almost any hand including Geargiarmor/Geargiarsenal. Here are some of the most basic combos, which develop into more combos that aren't as obvious with the use of Geargiagear/COTH.   NOTE: These are all 2 turn OTKS, meaning it's assuming Geargiarmor survived a turn.   1)Geargiarmor + Watchdog   Flip armor to search and special summon accelerator Normal summon the watchdog Flip armor facedown Synchro accel+watchdog into Bureido Bureido's effect to special summon the strategist Strategist flips armor up to search and special accel#2 Synchro accel#2 and the strategist into Burei Burei's effect to get watchdog#2  Synchro the watchdog + armor into either:   Bureido#2 to draw 2 Scrap Dragon to pop a card Stardust Dragon if you're worried about backrow   (2800 + 2600 + 2600 = 8000)     2)Geargiarmor + Strategist   Flip armor to search and special summon accelerator Flip armor facedown Normal summon the strategist to flip armor up to search and special summon accel#2 Synchro strategist+ accel into Burei and keep using your tuners to end up like the previous combo     3)Geargiarmor + Accelerator OR MK-II (Karakuri)   Flip armor to search for either accel/MK-II (the one you DON'T have in hand) Special summon the accel  XYZ into GGX, detach ACCELERATOR to search birdman Normal summon MK-II to special summon accel Return accel to hand to special birdman Special summon accel again Synchro birdman + accelerator into Burei Burei's effect to special summon watchdog Synchro Watchdog and MK-II into Burei#2 Burei's effect to special summon either watchdog or strategist and attack for game   (2300 + 2600 + 2600 + 500 = 8000)     4)Geargiarmor + Genex Ally Birdman   Flip armor to search accel and special summon it Return accel to hand to special birdman Special accel again and flip armor facedown Synchro birdman and accel into Burei Burei's effect to special summon the strategist Strategist flip armor face up and search accel Special accel, synchro strategist and accel into Burei#2 Burei #2's effect to special summon watchdog Synchro watchdog and armor into Scrap/Buriedo/Stardust for game      *you do not use your normal summon for this combo, so you can continute the play with a 4th synchro if needed. 5)Geargiagear + Accelerator Flip Geargiagear to summon 2 targets Special accel and XYZ Gear Gigant X (MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE AN MK-II OUT) Detach accelerator to search for Birdman Return MK-II to hand to special Birdman Normal summon MK-II to special accel from grave Synchro Birdman + accel into Burei, special level 4 tuner Synchro level 4 tuner + MK-II for Burei#2 getting the level 4 tuner#2 (2600 + 2600 + 2300 + 800 = 8300)      6)Geargiarmor + Accelerator + any machine monster (Machina)   Flip armor to search accelerator, special summon both accelerators XYZ both accels into GGX, search Machina Gearframe Normal summon Gearframe to search for Fortress Discard a machine type mosnter to special summon Fortress Attack with all monster, MP2 Cowboy for game   (2300 + 1800 + 1100 + 2500 + 800 = 8500)   -[ Deck Examples + Tips ]-     Karakuri Geargia http://i.imgur.com/UBNAll8.png   Machina Geargia http://i.imgur.com/f8ZatZZ.png   Machina/Karakuri Hybrid http://i.imgur.com/U2b40nt.png       - If you have both armor and arsenal in hand, use armor rather than arsenal to hide what you're playing + arsenal can be versatile mid-late game - When GGX dies, you can get geargiano to get accelerator to float into a possible MK-II/Armor/Arsenal to continue your plays - Mk-II can become an instant level 7 synchro if you have watchdog in grave + arsenal/geargiano - Flipping Geargiagear during your opponent's end phase is better to play around possible Maxx C's / fresh traps - Typically you want to bring out 1 Mk-II and 1 Geargiano through Geargigear in order to avoid drawing Geargiano + Geargiano is best in the graveyard - Playing 3 accelerators can clog, however it leads to a better late/mid game and can open up plays you normally wouldn't be able to do   Credit to Saiko for the formatting, and Candela for combo#5

Helps with OTK's, or helps me to get back into the duel when I need to. I also think mained Veilers are needed for this format to stop temperance and other prophecy shenanigans. It can also stop the Geargia players from OTK'ing. Sadly I can't seem to find room for Redox. I feel he could really help though. Birdman is pretty to to help with OTK's or just to help get a good opening field. I also prefer upstart goblin over duality, because with duality I can't special summon after it is activated but with Upstart I can. I also think Trap Stun is better than 7 Tools in here, my main reason is because Stun negates all traps to where I will always be safe, tools only does one.
13. Burst Rebirth

Burst Rebirth   Normal Trap card Pay 2000 Life Points, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-down Defense Position.     The card is actualy not bad, but it will most likely be overlooked due to a steep cost. In formats as we are used to them, combo oriented decks are mostly glass cannons or too slow. Only deck that made it to the top in the past few noticable tournaments is Geargia with Karakuri. And they already have their own special summon trap card, geargiagear. Some also play Call of the Haunted while others prefer Iron Call.   And those are fine options, this card would not replace them. It could be an addition though. Geargias (probably other decks too) won't care for life points as much, as long as it makes the combos come more consistently.    The cost is tremendous obviously and that is a downside. Getting this card on topdeck in late game is not great either.  But there are some upsides. The card is not picky at all, as other tend to be. It special summons any monster, regardless of level or type. It summons in face own defense position. While that can be a problem if you need the monster in your turn, you have to keep in mind it is a tra pafter all, yo uare going to set it a turn before anyway, so you might as well just activate it in their end phase.  Also it is not a continuous trap, like Call of the haunted. It doesn't serve as an MST magnet.    I am not going to say this card is anything broken or anything we have been waiting for forever to come. But it is not all bad either. Maybe this moment is not the best time for it to reveal it's true power, but with time, formats will change and so will our way of thinking. We might find a hidden gem in it then.

15. Geargiano-Gear

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Geargia-Gear           Looks like Geargias (Well sort of) are getting more in LTGY.    Pretty much as I see it, it is a Rescue Rabbit in Trap form for Geargianos. Requires you to run some crappy cards to fuel it, but provides a 1 card Xyz play.   Think it will see any play at all? I am saying mostly for yes, possibly, but I personally am still a tad indecisive about it.      Also I love the Power Rangers like artwork.

Trap stun replaced Starlight Road only recently and one of decks limbs quite yet. The newest addition is Compuls. I am not sure about that yet, there are so many other possible main deck choices that could replace it. And I would not mind taking out Book of Moon. Most help I need is with my side deck. Thoughts? It's probably the most consistent and fluent deck that I've played all format and had been testing super super well prior to the event.
21. GGia - First Draft

So I've been testing out the build a bit and it's been doing fine thusfar. I'm just curious as to if I missed anything or not. What I pretty much did was look over certain variants of the deck that have been topping, working with their techs, and then going from there.
22. Geargia Gadgets

Monsters 3x Geargiaccelerator 3x Geargiarmor 3x Green Gadget 3x Red Gadget 3x Yellow Gadget 2x Geargiano 1x Grandsoil The Elemental Lord Spells 1x Book of Moon 1x Dark Hole 1x Heavy Storm 1x Limiter Removal 1x Mind Control 1x Monster Reborn 1x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Pot of Avarice 2x Soul Taker Traps 2x Bottomless Trap Hole 3x Dimensional Prison 1x Solemn Judgment 2x Solemn Warning 1x Starlight Road 2x Torrential Tribute 1x Ultimate Offering Would rather main Dualitys over Soul Taker but I simply can't because of Auto losing to TKing game 1. Cards I'm considering: Tsuk (flips Geargia and kills Tking), Gigantes (some grave control, can ram into Tking for a worse Heavy Storm or force TKing to negate it), Mirror Force (even more attacking destruction but is still a slow card). Soul Taker also helps you deal with cards like BLS which is the deck's biggest weakness if you can't deal with it in time. Monster spell removal that you get to choose is a huge help. If they don't have TKing, prepare to go wild, you'll have serious card advantage with a 2300 Xyz floater. Grandsoil is a boss monster for other big cards which this deck struggles against. Geargiano is for all intents and purposes a level 4 machine, but it also can be summoned by Gear Giant X making it a huge pain for others. Also combos well with accelerator. Someone played me in a mirror with Xyz Reborn, not a bad choice with X but I don't have room for it. Still, can turn a dead X into a 2300 searcher if you needed to. Might give it a try.
23. Karakuri Geargia

I am under no delusion that this is somehow a perfect build. There's work to be done in all aspects. Updated deck below. Thanks for the suggestions thus far! Monsters (21) 3 Effect Veiler 3 Geargiaccelerator 3 Geargiarmor 3 Geargiarsenal 3 Genex Ally Birdman 3 Karakuri Watchdog MDL 313 "Saizan" 2 Geargiano Mk-II 1 Karakuri Ninja MDL 919 "Kuick" Spell (10) 1 Book of Moon 1 Dark Hole 1 Monster Reborn 1 Heavy Storm 3 Forbidden Lance 3 Mystical Space Typhoon Traps (9) 1 Solemn Judgment 1 Compulsory Evacuation Device 1 Starlight Road 2 Solemn Warning 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 2 Torrential Tribute Extra (Skeleton): 2 Gear Gigant X 2 Karakuri Steel Shogun 00X "Bureido" 3 Karakuri Shogun MDL 00 "Burei" For those unfamiliar with the deck, the otk requires 3 cards. One Geargiarmor facedown, one birdman, and one geargiaccelerator/geargiano in hand. With accelerator: 1. Flip Armor. Get Accelerator. 2. Special Accelerator. 3. Bring back Accelerator to special birdman. Respecial Accelerator. 4. Sync for Burei 5. Get Watchdog 6. Special the other accelerator. 7. Sync for Bureido 8. special another watchdog 9. Sync for Bureido 10. Get Kuick. Field: Bureido, Bureido, Burei, Kuik. 9900 dmg on the field. Does not OTK through gorz. It's probably the deck I'm going to play next format, so criticisms are more than welcome.

I posted a legal version of the deck and the Iron Call version. The deck is suppose to power out 3-5 Synchros/XYZs while maintaining huge advantage. OTK'n/Locking your opponent is extremely easy once the deck goes off which all you generally need is a Armor + a Tuner to do.
