1. Standard: No bans Modern: No bans Legacy: Sensei's divining top banned Vintage: Gitaxian probe restricted, Gush restricted Discussion about it here, if you would like. SCG is offering full refund or card + store credit for anyone who preordered the new counterbalance to foil out their miracles decks. Good job SCG.
2. SCG Louisville: May 20-21

If you've been paying attention at all to the SCG circuit it should come as no surprise they switched the format of this to team constructed (1 player each on legacy, modern, and standard) as it seems universally beloved by players and twitch watchers alike. I'm currently down a player for my team, and would really like to try to salvage the trip still. We would prefer a standard or legacy player but we'll take anyone in any format at this point. Obviously doing well is always the goal but at this point it's more important to me that I go than that I do well so if you're from the area and haven't played in a while you should go, I'll even supply you a deck/teach you the basics of the format if needed. Also worth noting that this will be the weekend after the pro tour for amonkhet so Standard should (barring saheeli/mardu being left fully in tact) still be fairly open. As far as other people I know Lux is planning on going up to this, anyone else I'm not aware of going?
3. Hi everyone, I've been away from the forum a lot these days since I quit playing YGO and Weiss, so if you guys in the MTG section don't quite recognize me, don't sweat it. Anyway, for the past year or so, I've been avidly following the Legacy format and have gotten really interested in playing. I particularly like Storm decks, and so I've decided to try my hand at grinding MTGO with TES and getting a livestream going a la ACP (who coincidentally started playing Storm today too, nice).   September Goals: * Increase my awareness of a given gamestate and my ability to execute a combo attempt within the progression of that gamestate. * Evaluate and configure various techs and deck components to best assemble a Storm deck for a control/blue-heavy meta.   August Goals: * Get 15 QPs to qualify for MOCS trial. * Improve interaction with opposing discard spells, mitigate their effectiveness * Try to embrace the variance of the game and not get negatively affected by tilt.   May Goals: * 4-0 a Daily * Stream 10 Dailies per month, or otherwise log 40 serious/competitive matches, minimum. * Improve use of Burning Wish, be aware of the choices and impacts of the when/what of a Wish. * Improve planning of opening hands, be cognizant of options and possibilities from the beginning to end of a game.
4. So the war win condition is still being figured out, but it doesn't look like this is getting rolling, so I thought posting it might help. 6. It's about a month away so I figured I'd ask who's going. I'm basically 99% confirmed with the 1% being the off-chance that I have some sort of life emergency. I figured odds are at least one of you DGzers is going and we could meet up. You'll also get to meet my lovely girlfriend.   It'll be my first irl Legacy tournament, and I don't know what I want to play yet. There are a lot of different decks that I like. It'll be something blue for sure. I'll probably just play Tin Fins since that's what I've been running on MTGO, and I know having experience with your deck is extremely important in Legacy.

8. Berserk Stompy (Legacy)

Stompy is one of the oldest archetypes in the history of Magic. The goal of the deck is to get in for cheap beats with efficient green weenies, whilst pumping them with cards like Giant Growth to both make combat trades and get in for extra damage. It can be thought of as the green equivalent of White Weenie. Now, that's all well and good, but isn't White Weenie just a little too slow for modern day Legacy? Well, it is, but thanks to just one card, it has a fighting chance. That card is Berserk. Berserk is one of the most potent green cards in all of Magic, ranging from +4/+0 to +10/+0. Point is, the card can lead to some explosive wins that come from nowhere. Gui has posted quite a comprehensive guide to the deck over at The Source, but for space's sake, I'll simply link it: http://www.mtgthesou...-Berserk-Stompy My current list is as follows: Mana: 17 16 Forest 1 Dryad Arbor Beaters: 21 4 Jungle Lion 4 Skarrgan Pit-Skulk 4 Silhana Ledgewalker 4 Nettle Sentinel 4 Kavu Predator 1 Scryb Ranger Pump: 19 4 Berserk 4 Seal of Strength 4 Rancor 4 Invigorate 3 Might of Old Krosa Utility: 3 3 Green Sun's Zenith Sideboard: 15 4 Rushwood Legate 4 Tormod's Crypt 3 Seal of Primordium 2 Winter Orb 1 Compost 1 Choke
