From a musical perspective, Pharrell is more talented. His beats are alot stronger.

ie.

Not taking anything away from Kanye though.. His samples are insane, and is definitely a great producer. I just respect Pharrell alot more

my favourite kanye instrumental

Kanye's College Dropout, Late Registration, and Dark Twisted Fantasy are by far the pinnacle of what outstanding production is in hip-hop, and there is literally no artist to have ever matched their production value in any amount of albums in the genre ever. If you want to appreciate that end of the rap/hip-hop spectrum, the production that is, you absolutely must listen to those albums.
ummmm...Have you heard Live.Love.ASAP? I'd say that besides MBDTF, LLASAP is definitely better produced than all of Kanye's albums. And that's totally disregarding the fact hat LLASAP's budget was probably several hundreds of thousands of dollars less than either of those Kanye albums.

Anyway rei, I'll recommend you to some very important albums of the past few years only.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
ASAP Rocky - Live.Love.A$AP
Lupe Fiasco - The Cool
Schoolboy Q - Habits & Contradictions

obviously i've heard it, and it's insanely insulting to compare those cheap beats to nearly anything kanye's made, even his throwaway beats that went to randoms like nick cannon lol

asap rocky is just a copy+paste trillwave rapper who borrows styles from others and can't develop his own. spaceghostpurrp does trillwave better than anyone else. and main attrakionz does it better on cloud rap beats that asap rocky raps on.

spaceghostpurrp - mysterious phonk
main attrakionz - bossalinis and fooliyones

two of the best albums of this year

other great albums/releases of the past few years:
main attrakionz - dark grapes & 808s ii
main attrakionz - blackberry kush
danny brown - xxx
danny brown - the hybrid
shabazz palaces - shabazz palaces
shabazz palaces - of light
shabazz palaces - black up
spaceghostpurrp - nasa: the mixtape
spaceghostpurrp - blvcklvnd rvdix 66.6
spaceghostpurrp - gxx xx bxxxk ep vol. 1

rainforest + instrumentals + instrumentals 2 are wonderful. clams casino was the best producer last year.

and i thought el-p did okay this year. obviously his earlier shit with company flow and cannibal ox + fantastic damage and i'll sleep when you're dead are better if you ever want to start with el-p.

These are a few albums I'd suggest you might like to hear and might fit your criteria.

Angry/Fast Paced

Nas (Illmatic) - Classic Album, easily regarded as one of the best albums. This was is one of Nasirs legacies in the rap game. This album contains nas' queens style of rapping where he actually makes the bars stretch out to hit 4 beats after the regular ex.)"Rappers I monkey flip em with the funky rythm, watch me flip it, musician, and flip in composition." (see; Nas - NY State of Mind) (Thank You Orangeeyes)

Mobb Deep (Infamous) - Another classic, one of Mobb Deeps game breaking album. The album basically goes about portraying the life of a Queens native involved in the gang life, its one of my favorites actually. (see; Mobb Deep - Cradle to the Grave)

Kendrick Lamar (Good Kid M.a.a.d City) - This album is newer, but leaked around October 17th or something. Definitely my favorite for the year, Kendricks style is very fast and meaningful but still conveys the life of a Compton kid growing up around the violence. (see; Kendrick Lamar ft Dr. Dre - Compton )

Smif n Wessun (Dah Shinin') - This album is older, the group Smif n Wessun (AKA Bootcamp Clique) combines words from the jamaican language (Patwa), with Bucktown slang, thus producing a raw and aggressive yet smooth sound. Their style of music can be easily compared with Mobb Deep. (see; Smif n Wessun - Sound Bwoy Bureil)

BONUS; Mos Def (Black on Both Sides)

Chill/Calm

Blu (Above The Heavens) - Blu is an underground California native, well respected in the rap game but underrated heavily. This album actually was a collaboration with the Beatmaker Exile who is famous for his smooth and tranquil beats, also Blu's rapping style generally falls on more jazzy beats (see; Blu - Dancing In The Rain )

Quasimoto (The Unseen) - Quasimoto is Madlib rapping alter ego, where he actually alters his voice and portrays himself as a yellow ardvark. Though his voice is very high, Madlibs smooth delivery and calming beats cause Quasimotos songs to be very very calming actually. (see; Quasimoto - Come on Feet ) (Thank you Display Name)

Big KRIT (Return of 4eva) - Also another of my favorite albums. The smooth sounds of the Saxophone mixed with the very touchy topics touched upon and Big KRIT's amazing lyricism. Makes this album a must hear. (see; Big KRIT - Boobie Miles)

Ab-Soul (Control System) - I recently just listened to this full album and I suppose the death of Ab-Souls lover Alori Jah struck something in him to make such an amazing album. Basically it covers many topics including government conspiracies, but the high points definitely are the sections of his songs that he dedicates to his late lover. (see Ab-Soul - The Book of Soul)

J.Cole (Friday Night Lights) - J.Cole is probably one of the top 10 rappers now a days, when it comes to story telling. His ennounciation and vocals make the words he speaks that much more powerful, and plus the fact he actually has very clever bars even when speaking about topics like growing up without a father, or ganglife, etc. This particular album has alot of smoothe cool out type of beats, that you might like. (see; J.Cole - Enchanted )

BONUS; Kanye West (College Dropout)

These are just a few albums I think you might like. Check them out man :D always happy to have another rap listener.

Well if you notice, alot of Queens rappers have a certain style of rapping where they say a word that doesnt rhyme at the end of a bar and place the word that rhymes on the beat that they would otherwise start their next line. Another thing is they'll start off the next bar with a transition word, (something that continues the last rhyme) but they'll change the word their rhyming to in the middle of their bar. Other rappers do this too but the style was mastered by Queens rappers.

Bold Represents the non rhyming word.Underline represent the rhyming word.Italics is the new rhyming word.

Ex.) Mobb Deep "They probably knock down the door in the middle of the night, some time around 4. / Hoping, to find who they looking for/ But they wont succeed all they gonna find is mad empty bags of weed /"

A normal rapper would generally rap that line like so.

They probably knock down the door / In the middle of the night sometime around 4 / Hoping to find but wont succeed / All they gonna find is empty bags of weed /

Though many artists do this, I feel it was mastered by queens artists. Though I dont think Nas is the best at it, his version of the queens style is my favorite.
