SOLVED - When to tell someone you love them (Not until you mean it)

I dont think shell think that but if she does just tease her about it and just tell her to relax and go with the flow. you dont want to get too quick when neither of you have done it before.

How should I tease her about it? I know I've done it before (I tease her about her height but not too much to the point where she's actually affected by it) so i kinda have some background but still

Also I forgot to mention this earlier on: She has been willing to "prioritize" hanging out with me alone over hanging out with some of her other friends so that's a really good sign as well I guess

stop posting nonsense and be a fucking man

there isnt some magical ingredient to make her fall for you. she is either attracted to you right now or she isnt.

you two are going to the museum for a project. ask her there. it is pretty much the perfect chance. you just need to throw in a "not like this but a date" kinda line.

didnt mean to sound mean with my earlier posts but you are making this sound too much like puppy love now that she is spending more time with you.

i mean it can happen at a young age where you truly do love the person you are with but more often than not i am willing to bet those feelings are not mutual.

i have been with the same girl since 6th grade. i will marry her someday. sometimes you just get lucky.

dont be a bitch and mess it up because you are unfamiliar with the feelings you have for her.

good luck

I know . I'm a mess. How would that affect my chances though? Is it something indicative of something about my personality that could be a barrier?

btw I'm 90% sure this isn't puppy love. I know what puppy love is and have gone through it and that's why I know this isn't it.

I'm prob making this sound more serious and more like a series of coordinated plans than it should be and that's why you're probably disappointed with what I'm posting. I know this should just be a natural, casual and spontaneous thing but I just can't stand the thought of failure lol

Ok sorry, but after reading I had to say something. 1. You do not love this girl. Sorry, accept that fact. You are infatuated with her. There is a strong difference. You are 16, probably horny, inexperienced, and she is like you, cool, and attractive to you. That's not fucking love, that is a strong candidate for a girlfriend. While you can meet the one from a young age, you will not fucking know after 3 month's of being close to her (I don't care if you went to the same high school, and you are a sophmore, and you probably knew her in middle school a bit.). Ask the girl out, be YOURSELF. The reason why she talks to you is because you are you. Sitting here asking for this type of advice is literally retarded. The only thing you gained from this is realizing life is not an anime. You don't walk up to a girl and go "I love you, I have always loved you" and then kiss at the full moon as she teared up, and hugs you or whatever the fuck anime's you are watching.

TlDr:; Go do you man, just don't say you love her. That's just silly. Either 1. You put off the girl. or 2. She "loves you" back, and then you realize this is a high school relationship, and shit will likely end sour, so you should have found a girl who would have reacted with the "1." reaction, because those are the girls that can make a high school relationship last.

Sorry. That's all.

I don't watch anime and "love" is actually probably too strong a word to use atm but no that's not what I think at all. This isn't "i'm going to flip out a diamond and kiss her while fireworks are up" kind of thing and I know that. I'm posting here because I have absolutely zero experience and maybe, just MAYBE, it might actually just be a short lived thing but time will tell if that's true, but as of now I'm more inclined towards ruling that out.

u just kinda know when it's the right time. if you have to ask - it is not the right time

Can't stress this enough. Don't make it come unnaturally, especially with your age. In my first real relationship I thought I loved her too but Dango & Tswift is exactly right. If it ends up well, it ends up well and you'll know the right time.

my dude you got it all twisted

just ask her out like a normal person "i like you, etc etc" there is no sure-fire way to go about this, it isnt mathmatical, its dumb honestly.

saying i love you prematurely makes you look like a huge bitch and it wont feel the same once you actually feel "it."

if you're in highschool i wouldnt even bother with a relationship tbh. learn from my mistakes bud, i was in one through all of highschool and i feel like i missed out on a ton.

yep i'm in high school lol, I said this before but basically if anything I want to still be friends even if the relationship doesn't work or never even starts. I'd rather just be friends then be in a 3 week relationship and then never talk to her again

The reason why I got a little hyped in my post as well is because I was in a long high school relationship, and I know that I missed out on some fun times in high school. My ex, and I broke up senior year, and that was really the only year I enjoyed myself in high school. All the other 3 years my ex was all I cared about, and all I sought after. (freshman was get the girl, sophomore was keep the girl, junior was deal with the drama of having the girl). I am not saying don't have a high school relationship, go for it, just realize it's a high school relationship, and if it buds into more then thats awesome, and a story to tell your kids. Just do not go into it going "I love this girl, she is the one" because if you are already at that "peak" (love is the peak in a relationship), then there is nowhere to go but down. Especially if you have not even asked the girl out.

then tell her how you feel, tell her you'll still like her as a friend regardless of how she feels about you romantically and get through high school. your situation is reminiscent of mine when i was 16 and im pretty sure i made a thread on here for it too. you're gonna feel so stupid a few years down the line, trust me lol.

edit: i feel like me and dango are just salty cause we wasted high school with girls who ended up not being worth it after high school haha.

Then go do you my friend lol. Ask her out. Just please do me a favor, and don't say "I love you" out loud to her, until at least 1 year into your relationship (or at least until this girl say's it first to you) If you guys do not last that year, obviously it was not meant to be.

I won't. I knew that would be a really foolish thing to do from the start really, blurting out "i love you" and getting on my knees is absolutely not what I had in mind lol

the title was kinda misleading

actually very misleading

there is only one right answer lol

after she says it to you

never ever say it before that unless you're on some real shit and you know for a fact that she's waiting for you to say it, like you have insider info about it and know she wants you to say it

You keep quoting me before I am done editing. -_-  Oh well. You get the jist. Ask her out, have fun, go be 16, make some mistakes, get your first shitty blow job, make out in public, etc, and if she turns you down, then fuck it there are so many other girls in that high school who are beautiful, and "intelligent" (as intelligent as a 16 year old girl can be) that you can find. I am only 19, and trust me 3 years is a long time, and a lot can happen. I am not the same guy I was at the start of my freshman year, to the sophomore year of college which is what 5 years? You may not be the same guy who is in love with this girl to 3 to 4 years from now, and I don't want to see those years wasted.

Tldr: I really am just salty.

I think I'm making this TOO MUCH like goat format, carefully reading, coordinating and optimizing plays when it should just be a spontaneous thing lol

My point is, above all I want to be good friends. That doesn't mean I'd want to leave any room in my mind for failure though. I want to pull this shit through. I want to go for it.How should I reform my mind so that I don't think that way?

i dont understand this notion that you cant be best friends and be a couple.

what does that even mean.

friendships dont fall apart because you guys stop dating. if it does then you guys were not good friends in the first place.

you are in highschool. take a chance

Bro you can't "above all be good friends" and also have romantic feelings. The two do not work together (unless you have truly found love, which that happens over time) You can have friends that are girls that are just your friends, and you have no romantic feelings with, or you can have girls you have romantic feelings for, and the reason you are friends is because of that. Even if she started out as just a "friend" to you, it clearly in the past 3 months has evolved to something more. So either just ask her out, and have fun, but do not go in expecting this to be the end all be all of girls. Or never ask her out, and accept that you will always be simply just a "good friend" and you should forget about any romantic feelings.
